i snagged some boxes when they were at the lowest on snkr. i'm still of the opinion the full reprint aint arrive yet (cope? idk). regardless.. all this focus on 151 right now and shiny treasure is attainable at 30/pop, i can't stop buying it. such a steal and so fun to rip.
Maybe, maybe not. There is a timeline in this universe in which they print too much for any significant growth. Doubt it, but nothing's ever guaranteed. Thanks for watching!
@@rell660 It's a great set with great potential, but we're in uncharted territory. Wanna make a video on how Pokemon is very different from what it used to be.
Prices were ridiculously low over the weekend and have already gone back up about 20%. If you're still hanging out trying to catch the bottom bottom, you've probably missed out and you'd be better off just paying a slightly higher price now (compared to two days ago) and eating it, rather than waiting for another drop. I bought internationally and picked up 10 boxes, shipped, for about 11000 Yen/box, which I'm more than happy with.
I agree, I think this is a fair statement. I was lingering and noticed a few websites lower the price to £85 which is the cheapest I've ever seen it. Bought 30 boxes from two different sites and now they are all sold out. Them boxes where in stock for weeks, price was slowly dropping but £85 was the low point and now all sold out. I think when the stock comes back in for these particular sites the price will only go back up now
I agree, especially considering where prices were just a month ago. That said, as shown in the video, Eevee Heroes did go back up before coming down even more in the weeks following the reprint. No guarantee that it can't happen to 151 too. 11,000 Yen is solid though imo!
@@antonioaguilar1309 Seems like a good price! The European market will be interesting to follow as it's often a little slower than the Japanese and U.S. markets. It's possible that prices could go down again once all the product arrives in Europe. I wouldn't count on that though.
Very interesting, however if we look at Shiny Treasure EX --> that sells for 40 USD shipped, which is literary at the MRSP price in Japan. So either someone is making a loss on them or they are getting boxes below MRSP as suppliers or large shop.
You can get Shiny Treasure ex sealed for under $30 in stores in Japan. Big sellers are still making money because they get it for even less, and some small-time sellers are still making money because of the whole point system I explained in the video. Thanks for watching!
I’m going to a Pokémon Center in Japan and want to pick up 20-30 packs of cards for my friends and I to open back home. Are there any packs I should specifically be buying? None of us are collectors or anything (not since circa 2010 at least) so I’m really just trying to discern which of the currently available packs are the coolest/best value?
Pretty stoked! Debating on trying to get more, but the "race to the store" game isn't fun. Pretty happy with what I have. Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
There's a couple of theories right now regarding this influx of boxes in the Japanese market i was hoping if you could address them ibex, though i'm not sure you're privy to such information, but i'll ask anyway, a few people have suggested this isn't actually the reprint yet that's still around the corner in May, this is just pokemon japan offloading what they had left to Japanese suppliers, this action spurred many of the retailers holding boxes to panic sell, and personally i feel this to be true since an actual reprint wouldn't affect prices for just 2-3 days, it would be longer in duration, hmm what do you think?
There are many theories floating around, but nobody has a clue, haha. Anyone claiming they do is full of it. 😂 I want to revisit this in an upcoming video but I want to give it some more time. Maybe in a week or so.
Some stores in Japan, including the Pokemon Centers, will remove the shrink wrap at the register to prevent scalping since the boxes aren't sealed anymore and have, thus, less value.
If things don't massively change in this hobby over the next 5 years (which we all hope and count on), a $15 dollar difference won't be a big deal long-term. Even at $100, boxes are still waaay cheaper than they were at the beginning of the year. If my goal was to buy massive amounts, then yeah, maybe I'd take the L and accept having missed out. But from a collector's perspective of someone who might want a couple boxes, $15 more per box is whatever... And you know what? There's still a decent chance that we will get more. Right now, the market has also been really overreacting on both sides. Who knows, we might be seeing $85 again.
