The Catapult Ferroblast is the newest heavy legendary mech in Mechwarrior Online. Featuring a fixed equipped MASC plus supercharger combination and a 20% mech top speed quirk, this is one hell of a fast heavy mech - but the speed comes at a price of low armor and firepower. MechWarrior Online is a free-to-play vehicular combat video game, officially launched during September 2013 by Piranha Games for Microsoft Windows. The game takes place within the larger #BattleTech universe. In MechWarrior: Online, players takes the role of a ""MechWarrior"" who pilots large bipedal combat vehicles known as BattleMechs (Mech for short). Players can customize their BattleMech with an array of weapons and equipment, and engage in 12 versus 12 battles, the outcome of which earns the players experience and c-bills for future BattleMech purchases and customization. There are currently seven game modes that involve protecting and attacking a single base (Assault), capturing and holding several points (Conquest), take and hold the center of the map (Domination), attacking a space defense system (Siege/Counter-Attack), protecting and attacking field bases with turrets and walls spread across the map (Incursion), and team death-match (Skirmish).

I tried a dual binary laser build with the mag shot. Had to drop the engine size a bit but still did about 90kph without the masc; made for a good mobile midrange harasser.😊

I've had a lot of fun with the Ferroblast but honestly 4 tons ammo for the magshot is overkill. I find 3 tons more than enough and I simply put in a BAP instead of that last ton. (I prefer to stow the ammo in the head and ct since ammo for gauss variants do not go boom, this way I keep the ammo even if I lose an arm). I suppose you could go for ams with 0.5 tons of ammo but with the speed this thing has it won't really be that useful (and you will rarely be in position to provide ams for teammates anyway) Edit: It REALLY helps to not have a high profile name when playing a mech like this in order to take advantage of the chaos and confusion. We've all seen how much tunnelvision players get when they see it's TTB on the other side and this mech can't slug it out toe to toe against competent builds.

arm structure quirk and ppc velocity quirk so you can shoot and move and this would be chef's kiss. Or maybe +50 percent machine gun rate of fire and machine gun ammo boost? I'm basically thinking of a JUMBO version of a Cicada 3c would be super badass! I think every catapult could use more arm structure across the board.

I bought this mech. I too fell it is a bit lack luster. I went down two XL engine sizes and went with large x pulse. It still runs over 140 kph. While not as powerful in alpha they do go off 2 times before magshots have cool down. Like TTB said if you play right and pick engagements. I find it easy to clear 700+ dmg a round. I like to play it like a light sniper. Poke a bit in the backside and relocate

I suggested a Marauder with this kind of setup in Discord to the Cauldron. But with HPPCs in each side torso and arms with 5x Magshots. I guess the Cat is better for that, as it can be much faster and has a smaller mech size. As i feared, i can't really get the Bullshark to work for me ( i sck at slow assaults), i might give this speedy gonzales a try.

Slow assaults are my favourite and the only Bullsharks that work for me, of the five from the basic pack, are the Clan one and the ballistic one (the 6, I think). But I'm fine with it because I like that MWO isn't pay to win and the real money mechs are usually a little subpar.

I tried LAC2s and Medium Lasers with this silly thing, but that kinda cooked way too much. Right now I'm using 4AC2s, 2 Magshots, and 2 Small X-Pulse Lasers, and it's not too bad at extended ranges or for dealing with Lights, but can run in to ammo issues and has to take the 280XLFE to carry all those AC2s. 8.8 Sustained and 17.1Maxed pre-skills isn't that good, but it's better than the stock!

My biggest issue with this mech, is that it has the firepower of a Blackjack Arrow, while having twice the speed and armor, but half the mobility (no JJs).

@@XKS99 I play it a fair bit these days, especially since I have trouble getting games in heavy or assault mechs. But it's great at poptarting, and it's surprisingly durable unless targeted specifically. I just wish the Snubs fired as fast as the magshot.

The Arrow is far better served with LXPL+LMGs. The magshot/Snub build is a lot weaker.

Very memeworthy sadly. Speed is great on a light mech because they're so hard to hit. Quadruple the target size and suddenly it's not so easy to miss both visually and shooting, yet it's firepower remains at the mid area of light mechs. With no ecm or stealth, feels a little like 'It's a trap!'.
