1560 Geneva Bible by Hendrickson Bibles 

Hi, thank you for taking the time to comment. I do like the Geneva Bible. I always think that the older reformation era translations speak to me because the language used, because it is not modern english, forces me to slow down and be a more careful reader. Whereas modern versions, whilst good and necessary can be too easy to read sometimes (if you get my meaning)and you can read too quickly and miss too much.

@@robpettifer1586 Not to mention the issue of the modern translations basing their text on the corrupt texts of codex vaticanus, codex sinaticus, and codex alexandria. These are all gnostic texts where the gnostic writers left out portions of the text that didn't agree with their doctrine.

Where is the proof of that? Yet, Erasmus knew about Codex Vaticanus in the Vatican Library and contacted his friend Bombaseus in Rome to look at it for him in order to assist in his completion upon one of his Greek editions. The only proof and evidence we have of heretics messing with the Bible is a book on mystery religions which stems from the Byzantine text in which the Geneva Bible and KJV derives from (not to say they were corrupted by these heretics). But, to accuse those other texts of corruption with no proof is absurd. I happen to love the KJV, Geneva and the Bibles that stem from the "corrupt" texts which you mentioned.

Hi, thanks for commenting. I do like the Geneva Bible and especially this edition. Even though it is a facsimile, it feels like you hold a piece of incredibly important history in your hands.

I love to use this bible. Just the look of it is phenomenal and it does read better than the KJV in places.

Glad you enjoyed the review. I did own the hardback copy of this bible too and whilst not quite as nice as the leather, the hardcover is still really nice. It is cream/grey cloth bound over really solid boards and was really well made!

@@robpettifer1586 I did more of a search online, the leather one is extremely difficult to get a hold of for a reasonable price, there are not many about like that. I went back to my local book shop and purchased the hardback because I just had a feeling I'd miss out entirely if I didn't, so glad I did as in speaking to the owner she said any version are getting more scarce to get ahold of, they did say if they got a leather one in they'd call me. I could spend hours in that book shop so was glad I could support a local small business 🥰 The book is awesome being a facsimile and the notes they made back then have been helpful already!! I can read the text easier than I thought I would too!! 😁

Hi, I think my copy was around £20 because of the damage to the ribbons. I think that it should have retailed at around £70.

Hi, this basically has the full marginal notes that the first edition of the Geneva bible as it is a photocopy of the original. So it will have all the notes of the original including the anti-catholic ones. Hope this is helpful.

​@@robpettifer1586I'm stumped the understanding of Daniel 9:27 is opposite to other Bible versions, that throws you off in defining who is the " He that makes covenant with the many"... The timeline is likewise off. I wish I could get one here in Canada, an old one, original.

A sperm whale could swallow you whole, but you'd pretty soon get digested in its four-chambered stomach, or suffocate from the lack of oxygen. God who is a mass murderer (I'm referring to the nearly entire population of the earth (est. 4 billion) by Noah's flood - as well as killing the populations of Sodom & Gomorrah, The firstborn Egyptians, the massacre of women and children at Jericho and the Egyptian chariot army).
