It's sponsored, but in one sentence, Acedeck's NYX Z1 was a really impressive board in many ways.
Thank you for not playing heavy metal music over everything like almost all other eskate RU-vidrs. Hearing what a board sounds like to ride is such an important part of a review. Keep up the great work!
Gonna have to get one for sure! I was considering the Apex Pradator+ 4WD version for a mountain board. But as an American, it of course means importing it from the UK, and having significant extra fees usually regarding battery, import tax etc. Bioboards, Trampa, Lacroix, Bajaboards all have similar issues in that regard. For the American market this is hugely significant. So the Apex Predator+ with a battery, and no other add ons comes to $4425. You might as well upgrade to the hoyt puck, 10 amp fast charger, and pay the $50 for the mbs f5 matching heelstrap. As the apex does include the m5 bindings. This comes out to $4616 USD, add the 110 GPB for shipping, and after import tax. This board is gonna cost you roughly $5000 USD with a current expected lead time of 5 weeks (not accounting for import time, and a US based company to install the battery). With the NYX, you're paying current price $2599.00 USD, so half as much! Getting essentially the same battery, many of the same features/qualities. Nyx also has 6000W motors, rather than the 4000W motors Apex use. The biggest difference/sacrifice obviously would be the lack of 4WD. so that is 2 less motors, 2 less gear drives, 1 less esc etc. This does however result in longer range, and depending on the situation, like KAMI said, it CAN be a more fun experience than 4WD has to offer. To me it also seems rare to have an occasion where the lack of 4WD will destroy your riding experience. Additionally, the shipping is free. There isn't any extra cost/penalty/tax/fee to pay for being American. The website currently states, "DISPATCH TIME: Oct 31- Nov 02". Today is the 26th of October. This means you'll have the board within a week of order. All that being said, for me its a no brainer. I sure am glad all my favorite, trusted reviewers like Kami were able to show me the light, saving me from making a terrible investment. Cheers, thanks KAMI!
Hi mate, don´t forget on Telum, he has delivering to EU, USA, atc.. With actual sale is a best 4WD choice. I want to take a Pro version, the BA is the same but 800usd more expensive.
I dont know if you've ever considered it, but you could get a GoPro camera and attach it to your boards to be able to showcase telemetry data in your videos. it would give a better understanding of the speed and acceleration of the boards.
Great video! Your shots and editing are all beautiful. You should try the board with bindings. Bindings make running into rough terrain more manageable.
I'm drooling over here over this board. I have a smaller tow rope ski and snowboard park that I would love to take this on. Just gonna need some bindings. Ace deck is kicking so much ass right now. I'll have this board by next year. Peace ya'll
⚡🤙🏼 *Awesome openin shots with assembly* 🤙🏼⚡ Beautifully shot as always, loved the openin up of everythin!! Your video production is unmatched bro I like that the default setup is no bindings with option for bindings. I'm surprised it is not noisier. The off-road ridiin looked amazin, lovely scenery man. I would consider ridin a mountainboard like this, I usually prefer smaller wheels.
Yeah, I was also surprised by many parts of this board. I felt I could recommend it enough if someone bought it. If you come to Korea, I will give you a ride lol :) Thanks, bro~
Great review KAMI! Love your style. I have one arriving tomorrow, and knew to come to your channel to see what to expect. Is it difficult to change the bushings? Thanks for the video! 💯⚡️🛹⚡️
How do you think this will hold up for more aggressive riding? Jumps/drops and manuals? I'm a bigger guy with a snowboarding background. Was looking into the Apex Predator, DIY, and the Acedeck Z1. Settled on a Z1 because it seemed like unbeatable specs for the money.
@KAMiJUINs I just got the board and checked the bolts around the gear box and motor mounts, none of those bolts have loctite on them! @3.25 it looks like your board doesn't have it either so you might want to check for loose bolts after a few rides. Is putting thread locker not needed because it's pneumatic and not urethane? I've always put it on almost everything on the DIYs
I've been riding this board for 1 month and already having problems. During a big acceleration uphill, the connection between the remote control and the board stopped and I fell. Another major problem is the bushings which come out on their own when I take very tight turns. I've been riding with 5 different boards for 5 years, this is the first time I've come across such a dangerous board.
Trying to talk myself out of this and in to a cheaper board, ha ha! Do you think even though it's wider than the X1 that it's perhaps more comfy for pot-hole streets with the wider trucks and deck? Or would the X1 AT be the way to go for that? Love that you said it's casual as that's what I'm after, my Lacroix was too all in, lol! Thanks for the great content as always.
Of course, a wide truck can be one way, but I don't think it's all. Rather, there will be better results when using bigger wheels. I hope you make a good decision. And thank you for watching too~ :)
Nice video. But I would have like to see if it is possible to handle it downtown. Also I would be curious to know how soft is the deck, and how much concave.
I think you can ride it fully in the city. If you need more flexibility, you can use a white bushing as mentioned in the video. The deck is stiff, but not completely stiff. Concave is a middle level. Thank you for watching ~
These boards are getting crazy lol. But I could see myself commuting with them :D too bad I can't fly with batteries to my job. I love those bushings already, a big issue I have with the heavier boards and more equipment is the bushings. I had to 3D print my own designs to handle the speed wobble and weight. I'm 105Kg, just tall I guess.
@kamijuins what do u think has faster performance an better range? The flipsky lighting or the nyx z ....im deciding which 1 but its close, which board has better range also thanks
Comparing the battery specifications with the current used by ESC, you can see that the lightning has strong performance and longer range. However, in my experience, I felt that the Nyx Z1 was a little better in terms of movement performance and design. I hope it was helpful
I thought that a little bit when I opened the gearbox, but there was no effect on the ride. Probably because, unlike the previous ones, the bearing supports in and out of the wheel gear. Thanks~
Hi. overall, is this the best you've tried? i am brazilian and i want to buy the best of all, because it will cost me a lot because i have to pay high import tax, so i want to buy the best of all. zeus pro, meepo H, eovam gts pro and among others, will this NYX Z-1 be the best? battery, speed and all. Thanks..
Very good review.I think the board looks very nice but at the price there's a lot of boards that would beat it.There's a lot of competition out there and I'm not sure who would buy this board at $2300 versus a 4 wd board or a board with shocks
I'm personally interested because I'm looking for a 35+ mph board that doesn't use belts. Do you have any recommendations on other boards in this price point with gear drive or direct drive?
@@shotseven I like the fact that they use planetary gears. If you're looking for hub motors they are nice but I don't know if they are faster than belt driven motors.
Beautiful board and awesome review! Do you get to keep it and if so, would you consider selling it to me!?! Either way I really enjoyed all of the valuable information you gave.
Bumpers in carbon? Even if is it in steal with stickers, you’re ready to break some legs and ankles. Something absorbing shocks would have been clever.
Hey Kami, I absolutely love your videos. I purchased the Acedeck based off of your video review here. The only that I wished I had was a board similar to this, but with full suspension. I'm 6'4 240lbs so I enjoy the ride of road with a suspension board. Do you have any recommendations or links you can provide for a build? Do you think I would be happy with the new Endeavor GT board? Thank you for your reply.
