There seem to be a lot of good boards being released at this time of year. Meepo Hurricane Ultra, which I'm introducing this time, is a board that allows making your own board from a variety of options. And in the video, I reviewed the Ultra of my option. It was the most satisfying board in this category and I highly recommend it if you are considering buying the Ultra. We really love the video, Jung! Your video already brings joy to us! It's so detailed, and you even take part to show what people are really getting! I think this is very valuable! Keep up the good work! 😍
Hurricane carbon's battery is dead after less than 1500km put on it, Meepo with their lame ass 3 months parts warranty does not care (completely illegal in Europe by the way), trucks are weak, have broken many times (both kingpin and hanger) and ESC is dangerous, shutting down everything even brakes when battery is low : this board is definitely a joke, do not trust any of these sponsored reviews and buy any Meepo's product at your onw risk now that you've been warned 🤷♂ DISGUSTING 🤮
Hello, I'm a big fan since forever. Kami is the best youtuber ever! ✌️ Could you please check if trampa 72t wheel pulleys fit to the new meepo rim. Thank you ✌️🤙
As always the best reviews, Love the take apart wich most are afraid to do lol. My Question, how does the Rolling resistance on those wide tires compare to a regular AT tire like the Sunmates or Hotas? Thanks in advance Bro!
Thank you for always coming, bro.~ First of all, this tire needs to be filled with low-pressure air. And it has a wide contact patch. Of course, Physically, it will create more resistance. But I didn't feel it much when I was riding. I think there was also the effect of the temperature and the side wall of the tire was harder than the tires you mentioned. As a result, there was less feeling of softness in the tire itself when riding. Wouldn't that be the result of combining them?
⚡ *Beautiful video,* loved the music choice! ⚡ I thought Bamboo comes with TKP and Carbon with DKP. Looks well engineered. I expected to see even more grease inside the gear drive, I have seen more grease in DIY board videos. Really liked the close look and analysis. I prefer the look of the bamboo version but carbon is good for stability at speed. 🤙🏼🤙🏼 I accidentally discarded my original comment as I was typing, had to type this all again 😂😭
Haha, I know what was that! I'm curious about the bamboo version, too. If I have a chance, I'd like to compare. Thank you for coming as alway, brother :)
What's the weight on those tubeless wheels? Also is the LingYi ESC still a bit more jerky then Hobbywing, specially when you freeroll and then starts accelerate again?
I just picked up a hurricane carbon $1800 variant with the 175mm tires for $600; I want the gear drive most but I'm not boutta spend $300 on a board I got for $600 😞
@@KAMiJUINs - 🤔 I skateboarded & surfed for many years; wanted to give E-skating a try and now I can’t settle on a board to get… it’s frustrating. • The Exway Atlas Pro looked promising, but their regular chargers have been failing constantly in the past few months. Exway has been replacing the faulty chargers with their super charger. But you can’t super / fast charge a board constantly because it will eventually hurt / kill the battery. (Also, I don’t want pneumatic tires). • The Meepo hurricane ultra looks the most promising; can’t figure what care goes into the tubeless tires they offer. I can’t find if I’d need to balance them like pneumatic tires… • The last board is the Acedeck Nomad N1, but it JUST came out and I’m not one to jump on a new product. I wanna make sure it’s a solid product first. Plus acedeck has only been around for barley 2 years 🤔.
@@KAMiJUINs - thank you for the reply. You replied faster than meepo lol. I appreciate your vids 👍 Very clean, very informative. Love the dog 🐩 Well, the meepo hurricane ultra looks like the best bet for me, I just gotta figure out if I need to eventually balance those tubeless tires after awhile. Hopefully Meepo replies soon 🤔 I also think it’s interesting meepo doesn’t use that Samsung battery in this board anymore. Went back to Molicel.
I must say the wheels are fiya and it seems quick for 2wheel drive. The motor gears sound very jankey though. I ride the 4wd hammer sledge and I swear it's motors sing like turbos. "Keep on ride on"
Is it just me or would it look really cool if those trucks were just 5cm wider? Also, the wider the truck, the more difficult to steer it. So you can put more weight into turning and have a smoother/more accurate turn. Less nervousness in steering.
Not likely on this set up. The 40T cells it has wont put out as much with the esc. You could get a bigger tire and maybe get up to 35 mph. But the speed is gonna come from the battery, esc, and motors.
@@ESK8_BRO_TX The 40T cells do output more than the esc, but that has nothing to do with the top speed. Gearing and wheel size are what would need to be looked at to increase the top speed (if not motor kv but that does depend on the esc.)
@@ajplant96 correct, sorry i worded it wrong. The point was the esc is the limiting factor here and that if you wanna go that type of speeds, a vesc based esc is best to use the 40T cells effectively. And if it were belt driven, absolutely u can change the gearing, but does meepo make other gearing for its gear drive? Or would it be worth the cost to get gears custom made for it? And would it be worth losing the torque for top speed? Bc u are going to lose a bunch of torque if u want high top speed. Thats absolute. And then it comes to my other point is changing out the motors and again the esc. Does their lingyi have the ability to handle higher kv? Which i honestly dont know the specs of the lingyi thats in there. Though I'm curious to why they want to use the 40T cells as oppose to the p42a cells since 40T are known to go out of balance and with a crummy bms, its a not a good combo imho. Meepo owners on the fb group have all been having issues across the spectrum with their boards crapping out from the bms going dead. But we'll see in the coming days.
Always great videos my friend. Going over everything, recording at different angles, then all the editing is a lot of work. Thank you for your work and passion for ESK8. 🖤
Hey Ryan, we didn't steal the idea from Newbee ESK8. I am a good friend of their owner, same as our engineer. 🤣 The funny thing is, our engineer had this gearbox designed about 2 years ago.
Thank you for watching bro~ :) And I already have Newbee's 4k gear drive system to proceed with the contents in the future. And I've already compared it, but I think, it's a long way to say a copy.
Hey sorry for this out context question, but i see that you're a pro in the eskate subject. So can you help me please. I want to buy my first electric skate. And i have 550 dollars of budget. I have some option that i look for : -Exway flex -backfire G3 -Verreal ttrs -Tynee classic For the moment im more for the G3, because the customer service is better at Backfire, is that the good choice for you?
@@pixel6173 OK thank you very much ! I will go for the backfire, i heard the same issues as you say with exway and verreal, so thank you for this return!
Я купил Verreal RS Pro за 799$, у меня был до этого Meepo Hurricane. Честно, я доволен больше Verreal RS Pro, чем большой, тяжелый MH, не смотря на то что его 4 скорость дает больше эмоций.
Which would you recommend Meepo Cyclone 165 tubeless, racing wheel, or AT set for the hurricane. And if you had a rating what would it be for value per dollar for each wheel.
When deciding on a wheel, it is important to know what kind of terrain you usually ride. If you're going to ride in a normal environment, 165 tubeless is fine
I like it, I like your videos a lot. I'm in decision mode about which board and set up I'm going to purchase. Because of this video and some others; I've decided to buy this board with this set up. Kami, Thank you so much 👍
Its a shame you hadn't reviewed the bamboo version seeing that this carbon deck is not new and you have already reviewed the regular Meepo Hurricane. Anyway thanks for the details and I keep coming back because you take the boards apart and that's great for those DIYers who don't want to build a board from scratch. So you confirmed, tubless wheels can only take custom tubless tires?
Yeah, I'm aware of that and I mentioned it in the video too. In spite of that, even considering that, this option was really satisfying.~ Thank you for watching :)
I have the Onboard Zues Pro and love it. I wanted to get another board and think this is the best choice. What would you recommend as a second board choice? Your reviews are first class. Thank you.
Love the reviews! I'm curious about how the rolling resistance compares to belt and hub drive. Can you kick push this board or does rolling resistance from the drive make it to impractical like on belt drives? I haven't gotten the chance to ride a gear drive yet and this has been on my radar. Thanks and I look forward to your next review. Would love to see the backfire hammer sledge or Acedeck's new Stella!
Great vid !! How would this board do off-the -road ? (With off the road tires of course) Seems like the enclosed Direct Drive gears would be protected from dirt, stones etc. vs the belt drive. Cheers
Thank you for watching :) It seems to be sufficient because it has torque performance that was not insufficient to ride off-road even if change the tire. However, this wheel was such a great performance on the pavement.
I'd love to see a comparison of acceleration using the same wheel size compared to the standard belt drive hurricane. I was hoping the gear drive would be a better option if you use big wheels.
Love your vids. My only regret here is that I wish you had reviewed the bamboo version. Anyway good to know you're plenty happy with the carbon option. You talk about the comfort : what do you think is the most comfortable between this version of the Ultra and the Tynee Explorer about which you have also emphasized the great comfort quality ? Does bamboo win the battle of comfort here or not ?
Thank you so much~ :) I wasn't just talking about the comfort of the board that comes from the flexibility of the deck. I'm talking about the overall aspect of handling the board in riding. Of course, the ride was not bad because of the tubeless tires, even though it was a stiff carbon deck. And if I have a chance, I want to compare it with the bamboo version.
In fact, the actual sound is smaller than this. There is a phenomenon in which the sound is amplified and recorded because the directional microphone is used for filming. That's why...
@@KK001 and then there's the rest of the esk8 community, upgrading to straight cut from helical so the gears don't try to force themselves off the motor shaft 😆
Excellent review as always 👌 I am torn between this exact setup with the carbon deck and the bamboo version have you had the opportunity to try the bamboo deck? 😁
Great review as always and interesting board. Perhaps a detail but like the cables and connectors to the motors a lot more than the fragile protection the hurricane had before. Cheers
Gear drive 🚀 Sound like rocket I really enjoyed your review it's very detailed information you catch most of information, details, movment So i am looking board for City riding i want stable board because there are some down hill 1.stable board 2.comfortable 3.budget 1200 euro (1250 Us dollars) 1.hurricane ultra bamboo +TKP +belt drive + 165 mm tubeless tires 2.Wowgo AT2 3.Atlas Carbon-2WD 4.tynee explorer So can you please help me which board i can go for that or you have any more options Thank you..🙂
@@KAMiJUINs i ordered exway atlas Carbon 2WD because hurricane ultra is nice but they are sending from china now so i have to pay custom taxes so after all too expensive..😅
@@KAMiJUINs Does the ankle protector effect the mobility when you ride the board? I just recovered from my ankle injury (took me three months). Do you have a recommend brand of the ankle protector?
Actually, it's not loud. The sound was amplified as it became a directional micro-recording. And as you say, street-type wheels are not available. But this wheel was awesome~ Thank you for watching :)
The roads all look incredible and very new! I need to know where you’re riding, since hardly anybody else is using them^^ seriously though, where is everybody?
Hi I got the bamboo + TKP + Gear drive + tubeless. I love it! My only complaint is why did they use a lesser capacity battery, I was under the impression the battery would be the same? Do you think you would get more range if you upped the psi? I’m only getting about 16 miles and am 35 psi so am wondering what is ideal
I think 35 PSI is a lot too. Why don't you measure the range again? Sixteen miles is a little strange. And capacity reduction due to battery changes is very small.
@@KAMiJUINs I’ve done many tests by now I get about 16 miles each time. I ride in speed mode 4 and use a lot of acceleration. But I thought the higher psi would mean a higher end range right?
@@robwhaling633 That seems about right if you are gunning it in speed mode 4 the whole time. How much do you weigh? I ride similarly and get 17 - 20 miles per charge, but I also only weigh about 100 pounds.
First, the Ares X1 I rode was a four-wheel drive version. I think the Ares x1 was a good option for riders who wanted something stronger if the Ultra was a board that more people could access. The price difference also explains that. So it's hard to say that either side is good. Also, Meepo and Acedeck were the companies that made the boards that sincerely I was most satisfied with this year.
@@KAMiJUINs thanks. What about those wheels, do they wobble? In my experience all at wheels vibrate and you need to balance them and even then they will vibrate more than good street wheels which can be absolutely stable.
In fact, the actual sound is smaller than this. There is a phenomenon in which the sound is amplified and recorded because the directional microphone is used for filming. Yeah the wheels were awesome :) Thank you for watching ~
@@KAMiJUINs Thanks for responding ;-) Would you say that the new gear motor on the H.ultra make more noise than the belt drive (on the old Hurricane ) ?
From what I experienced, it felt similar to a belt drive. The reason why I was surprised was that the drive noise of the gear drives I experienced before was really loud.
@@KAMiJUINs still trying to figure this out as the specs seem the exact same. The only difference I noticed is that original used Molicel and this is Samsung?
