as an INFP i agree completely!! i may not be “outwardly” chaotic but when it comes to any kind of standardised or organised belief or structure, I am extremely skeptical and feel a strong desire to challenge and break it. any kind of designated authority also easily triggers my anger

INTP here- I've actually tried fitting myself in on where I'd be in D&D alignment before, and I've always felt split on true neutral and chaotic good. So I think your neutral/chaotic neutral split with neutral as the result is really actually spot on, considering that, at least from a personal lense, everything needs to be taken on a case by case basis for proper accuracy- not doing so denies important circumstantial factors. I can recognize selfishness within myself which is an evil trait, but in recognizing it push back with altruism. On an individual level, I've never wanted to bring suffering to anyone for its own sake. But I do think that there are ideas and concepts which need to be destroyed which supercede personal attatchments to them. When it all boils down, I simply absolutely agree true neutral is the proper call. It is, I think, a true neutral of baseline- that, perhaps, there is some time spent for a stint in any of the alignments for a time, but within the journey of mental reconstruction, it will shift in a way that trends toward neutral baseline. : )

As an INFJ, I think we tend to be more true neutral--we'd like to think we'd be on the "good guy's" side when the time comes to choose, but deep down we also know that no one is entirely good or bad and that to be loyal to a side is disloyal to what we know is correct. As you pointed out, we have a tendency to empathize with people who are quite scary which can lead to genuine warmth and affection for them and the urge to protect them from themselves and others. If it came down between siding with people who the majority think are right and letting this one probably evil friend get away with much of their schemes if it's not necessarily corrupt and won't hurt many if any people, then we might be just as likely (if not more so) to side with the evil-spectrumed friend and make it our responsibility to keep them out of trouble.

As an INTP, I consider myself Chaotic Neutral. This comes down to me rarely accepting something as just being there without a valid reason. The biggest example of this is social expectations, where if I’m told to act a certain way in public, I immediately question it without taking “because it’s normal” as an answer, and if I think that a rule/expectation doesn’t have a valid reason behind it, I either ignore it if that’s an option or protest the fact that I don’t have the option to ignore it

INFJs meet people at their level...empathize even with people it's scary to empathize with...so true, at least in one case I know of! A rating somewhere between neutral and neutral good seems accurate to me.

I've never met an INFP who is Chaotic good, all my INFPs friends r neutral good (actually, me too). Actually I think neutral good is more INFP than Chaotic good, bc INFPs hate conflict

I see a lot of other INFP's disagreeing with the selection here in the comments but I think it's spot on. Personally, I think we don't want to bring down structured systems if we think they are doing good for all involved, but we will always have an underlying distrust of those people in the positions of higher power. We may respect them by following their rules but will probably never trust that they truly have everyone's bests interests at heart. Personally, I'm not thinking all the time about tearing down a system even if I find it a bit limiting because I know the system is there for a reason and without it there would be utter chaos. We INFP's almost need that system to define the fact that we are limited by it in some way. We aren't really conventional law breakers but more like breakers of social norms and thought. If we sense that people in positions of power are just trying to get more power and more control without caring about those who have less power in the system that's when our chaotic side comes out. I think younger INFP's (myself included) could possibly fall into the Lawful/ Neutral Good categories until they really get a taste of life and realize that not everyone is looking out for your best interests and many people will try to take advantage of you. INFP's seem to be constant targets of people who want to take advantage of them in some way because I think we come off as innocent, pure, and conflict adverse. Once we've been tested enough this way I think the Chaotic Good side comes out, however the change is internal and I don't think even our closest friends will pick up on it. We're the the quieter and softer spoken revolutionaries in times when it's called for. We're still good, we're for good no matter the cost.

Every time I watch one of your videos, I feel so understood. We ISFJs usually get the "sweet baking mom" stereotype, but you see the complexity of our thought processes. I appreciate that so much. I'm a huge rule-follower and was anticipating a Lawful alignment, but your insight - that ultimately, we want good and aren't going to necessarily freak out over what everyone else does in regards to the rules - felt very on-point.

Neutral Good has always been my favorite alignment.

As an INTJ very happy to see us in True Neutral. Good/Evil, Right/Wrong, or light/dark mere concepts that change on a dine. INTJ have control of their emotions and goals to accomplish. You can help or be dropped liked a hot potato. INTJ don't even mean to drop people, but goals need be reached and you are no longer part of the design. Do you see? No, caring about good/evil in the decision process, but it looks sooooo bad that people want to throw us to dark side. We are more complicated then that! lol. ENTJ, however. Pure Evil. Been saying that for years.

Dude I'm an INFP that got true neutral 😂😂 what happened?? I did the test twice before watching the Video. I thought I was a moral compass, a paragon of virtue and goodness, a...never mind I'm happy with being neutral, because I don't like judging or fighting others🤷‍♀️

I’m an INTP who always tests as chaotic neutral, but I behave like both chaotic and true neutrals. I think it’s because I am, ultimately, a good-leaning or “chill” chaotic neutral. There are subcategories to the alignments and they help sort out certain discrepancies in the pure descriptions.

I as an intj came here thinking I would be placed in true neutral. I wouldn't say I can detach completely but I can force myself to achieve the highest level of objectivity. Well made tier lists in all your vids. Keep up the good work.

INTP here. I've taken the alignment test before a couple of times and consistently gotten true neutral. I think it has a lot to do with being able to hold multiple perspectives simultaneously and being able to see the harm/good and value/worthlessness of any of those perspectives. Fun video.

Great analysis. I did the alignment test some time ago and got a true neutral. I was watching the video, thinking: if my type gets 'true neutral' - there is no need for a 'how INTJs defy their stereotype' video. Sounds like a meaningful closure of so called 2020.

As an INTJ type person, I can understand being considered a True Neutral aligned character in an RPG. I do find myself very often unconcerned with other people's opinions of whether what I am doing or talking about is 'good' or 'evil', I'm just focused on achieving my goal. When I am a Dungeon Master for an RPG campaign, I find myself equally at home with getting into character role playing a good aligned or an evil aligned NPC. Also, when it comes to lawful and chaotic, I'm totally situational about that. I'll side with whichever helps me achieve my goal. I value law and order, but certain laws or orders that conflict with what I'm trying to achieve really annoy me and I wish I could dispense with them while I'm after that goal. On the other hand, I find being surrounded by total chaos to be very draining and annoying, but every now and then, I have an impulse to do something spontaneous, or somewhat out of character for me that is like embracing chaos for a bit.

True neutral, seems about right. I tend to leave people to their own devices & do my own thing. If someone seeks my help, I can lean towards good. If they seek to get on my bad side, then my bad side they shall receive.

As an INFJ, watching you do these videos is so intellectually satisfying; I always find myself coming to the same conclusions as you & using roughly the same reasoning to get there. It's so interesting how similarly different types think despite the stark differences in our functional stacks :)

I'm an ISTP and got True Neutral. I think this is fitting. ISTPs could be the rebellious hero (think Wolverine), or they could be the "it's not personal" Contract killer. Or they could simply not give an f, as long as you don't get in their way.

Maybe it's just me, but as an infp, I have always leaned very much into the true neutral. Do to my hate of conflict, and my own cynicism (which isn't really a concrete infp trait, just something I have developed) I have learned to just stay out of everyone's business. If someone needs help, or needs me, I way the pro's and con's of the situation in order to see the possible outcomes. In other words I look at the big picture and make a decision. It usually comes down to the fact of "will this benefit me and the other person at the same time, or will one of us get hurt?" I care deeply about the people I love and am very proud of my emotions and values, but everyone around me always wants me to choose a side, which I hate and refuse to do since everyone has a right to believe what they want and express it as long it doesn't hurt anyone else. In other words, as long as people respect one another, people can get along relatively fine. This doesn't mean they have to like each other, but they do need to respect the other person's opinion and acknowledge it. Keep an open mind if you will. But that philosophy seems illogical to most of my family and friends, especially my dad who is an estj, who I always tend to argue with. Do to this, I don't want anything to do with people anymore unless it benefits me as well in some way since no one can get along. I agree with treebeard. "Side? I'm on nobody's side, because no one is on my side."

INFP here I took a personality test for alignments once and i got put in Chaotic neutral, which makes a lot of sense, the need to pursue one's goals trough their own rules can be egoistical, yet flexible when growing oneself Often when one thinks they are being chaotic good they are actually dipping into the not so good direction since it's a pretty slippery slope, it's really a matter of for what you do the things you do. Because it's right, or because you want it to be right? This also then spills into the whole "what counts? what they do or what they think they do?" Where a character (like Thanos, for example) really thinks that what they are doing is the best thing to do, but fail to realize how many evil deeds they do in their wake

I'm INTP & I think that we are definitely in the "neutral good" category as long as we're able to fully embrace our INTPness, and chaotic good if we are pressured to conform to a mode of action that is fundamentally illogical...

INFP here and I agree with your characterization. My moral compass is so dominant in my life and the moral thing isn't always the lawful thing and I will absolutely be good over lawful any day.

I'm an INTP who plays enough D&D and I believe your assessment is correct. I would personally consider myself a True Neutral in reality but occasionally my thoughts can lean towards the chaotic side of the spectrum, you can go pretty much either way at this point.

I am an INTP and I generally regard myself as being Chaotic Good. I am very into truth, justice, beauty, elegance and morality (which I feel are encompassed by Elegance, but most people wouldn't catch that), but I also don't generally regard formal social structures (e.g. laws and rules) as adequately encompassing those, and to a certain extent I regard lawful as necessarily being evil. So in my book anyone who is Lawful Neutral is actually Lawful Evil, and anyone who is Lawful Good is actually Stupid Patsy Good. But I still like Superman.

As an ENFP, I agree with this assessment. I find that I mosty bridge that line between Neutral and Chaotic Good. For me personally, I usually fall into the Neutral Good, but can find myself overly campaigning for the Chaotic Good stance on an issue. I think this comes down to my natural inclination falling to Chaotic Good, but me forcibly suppressing this over years led me to be more Neutral Good in my approach. I find that when I let myself cross that line over to Chaotic Good, and I finally get what I wanted, I'm left sitting there regreting my decision. Like, "What have I done...I didn't mean for...just...wow..." and will just sit and ponder why I didn't do thing differently, and even hate myself for it at times. So, point it, I believe this was a really good assessment of, not just my type, but all of them. I'm just giving personal insight into my own. Actually, this might be a large reason why I tend to work well with INTPs and often seek out their insight when assessing something. They kind of help me level myself and comeback down to reality when needed, but let me explore my wild ideas and will follow me down my rabbit holes. It's almost like there's a line to where they'll follow me, but once I cross that line, they'll grab the back of my shirt and pull me right back XD. Makes a surprisingly good balance for my personality. I honestly found this channel a few weeks ago at this point and am loving it. I've been overly obsessed with MBTI for years now, but it just resurges to an excessive extent every few months or so. Love what you're doing with it, and I love your approach to making videos as well! Keep up the great work!

As an ENTJ, I laughed when my personality type was put in the Lawful Evil category. I laughed because it's appropriate lol.

If I had to ask myself which 3 I tend to shift from depending on circumstance: 1. Neutral Good when times are easy, I just want to be helpful to others. 2. Chaotic Neutral when I am observing something that I find amusing and not all too invested in. 3. Lawful Evil when times seem hard and things don't go my way, I want the established order so I can feel secure.
