Also there’s a new localized V3 trailer that released today: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AFAISt3BMI8.html And apparently there’s a VA panel tomorrow for V3 at Anime Expo as well! So we might actually get to learn some names and such of the voice actors in the next few days.
Weeby Newz Excuse me, i would really love to see a video analyzing Souda's and Sonia's relationship if possible? Their relationship, the way they value one another seems really interesting to me. In a way, they're each others worst enemy. Throughout the game Souda constantly wants to feel appreciated from the rest of the cast, more so from Sonia. Constantly he would show himself useful to the group, like creating a way to communicate between the hospital and the rest of the group in chapter 3, taking Nekomaru's autopsy, making mini Nekomaru etc. His efforts would go barely acknowledged by Sonia as well as the rest of the cast. Sonia more than anyone would say bad things about him. During trials he was silenced and even accused by Sonia multiple times. Seeing how much he liked her, that really hurt him. How he would deal with that made things much worse for the both of them. Sonia's ultimate goal was to be treated as a normal person. She occupied herself with things and knowledge that she saw as "regular girl things" .Time and again she would show her normal side to everyone, hoping that they'd understand her wishes. Most of the characters would still think of her highly, respecting her as a princess, referring to her as a princess, expecting her to act like a princess. More than anyone out there, she received this sort of attention from Souda .When she tried to shove him away, he would get hurt and treated her with even more respect and care, something she didn't want. These two constantly dragged each other down. They brought each other alot of sadness.I would love to hear from you maybe in more detail how they affected each-others actions. Maybe what the addition of Gundham did them, Hajime too as a mutual friend of the two .If Souda would give up on his love, would the two of them still be who they are by the end?
"it wouldve been too simple to just make komeda just be a mastermind." So instead... he cuts off her arm and attaches his own, then commits necrophillia."
Random Person Mikan was the one who implanted junkos womb inside her, it’s not a huge stretch that she woo hooed it before hand. Especially since her despair personality is crazy about her. Many people online have come to this conclusion. I realize really anyone could have done it, but Mikan is the most obvious candidate.
Chiaki: cute, hopeful, amazing, so sweet, pretty such a angle Boys: :) I like that one Nagito: *hAAAAHAAHHHAAAAhAhaaaaAGAFESCGTF HOOOOpppEEEEEE, HAJiMeEeEEEEEE* Girls: that one. I choose that one.
Im surprised there's nothing about how Akane was possibly gonna be Hajime's rival considering she had a counter arguement screen in beta screenshots and her name/plain design mirrors Hajime's. She also has a concept design that looks similar to Asahina except shes wearing a suit and she had a chain on her neck like Nagito had in DRAE
Actually, Doesn't Hiyoko wear her tie on front in DR3 despair side? (At least in the grown up form). Damn Hiyoko. I wouldn't guess that fact about her.
Anna Lee Pena hyoko never really bullied mikan in the real world though mikan was a lot more fucked up and mostlikely killed the most people out of them all
The entire game i was thinking Nagito is Makoto that went nuts in the outside world. I noticed the anagram the first time his name came up for more than a few seconds, plus his rather similair appearence and his matching talent.
it is weird, but i think it's because they do the lottery every year. and they just call them the ultimate lucky student to justify them being there. so even tho naegi legitly does seem to have real luck, there could have been past regular nobodies in his position. but yeah, komaedas luck is just insane and unquestionable
That's actually easy. Might be long, but things go as: Naegi's luck appears as something that seems unluck that actually turns out to be luck, without him realising . Exs: His bedroom was the only one whose bathroom door didn't fit the frame (unluck). Thanks to this, Kuwata busted the lock to enter and kill Sayaka, and the busted lock proved to be Naegi's inocence, as he wouldn't have done such thing because he knew about his doors problem(luck). In Danga 3, he trips over a paper leaf and falls (unluck), but Junko threw a wrench that didn't hit him because he fell (luck). If you pay attention, you'll see that everything that seems unluck has actually brought good luck, without him realising. Nagito's luck both passively and actively, iow, Nagito may or may not decide to use his luck, and his luck is a "rollercoaster". For every good thing, something bad happens, and vice-versa. Exs: He actively used his luck to get the cleaning duty (good) but had to clean everything(bad). He inadvertently used his luck when his plan to kill was frustrated by Twogami (bad), however thanks to that he was not killed by Teruteru(good). When Nagito decides to use his luck, something bad happens afterwards. When it happens passively, something bad happens before the good thing happens.
he at the very least deserved to be above teru. his execution and accent were neat but that was the most interesting depth of his character... a fukin accent and his death. so stupid
I always felt it was a waste that Danganronpa games never had alternate routes based on the player's choices. All the characters are so well developed so it would be really neat to see how they all react to all the crazy situations. The game would have much more replayability and we'd get more murders to solve and executions for more characters. Plus it could make the player feel more responsible for their classmates' deaths, since even though they're not the one murdering (unless the developers came up with a way to murder someone to escape which would also be really cool), their choices still impact the course of the killing game.
i'm still sad hiyoko got killed off, especially in the way that she did. she was just beginning to get character development, hence why her death upset me as much as it did. if she'd just lived a chapter longer, it could've made a huge difference.
Oh god Komaeda. If it's difficult to create a character that hold contradictions, then GODDAMMIT MAAAAAN! That bagel is literally a walking embodiment of contradiction and irony. The one who believes that only those who are born with talent are worthy, while of the entire cast being the only one actually born with it, and not having acquired it through his life. The one we see as someone pulling strings as he pleases, while his own life is the one thing he has absolutely no control over. The one seen as insane, although in possession of much more insight than everyone else. The one marked by blood in first moment we see him, and yet even in despair not having murder anyone - and all his history, trying to kill only one person - himself. The one to make quite a lot of people not just love 'or' hate him, but most of the times cause people to feel both of those simultaneously - which i guess makes his contradiction syndrome transcend past the game ono the people :D
Actually, There is a novel like that unlocked after beating DR2. It's a little bit different though. First of all, Mukuro did rebel against Junko, but Makoto jumped to save her. I suggest you read it. It's actually called "Danganronpa if", and I'm pretty sure that first game had something like that too.
Mahiru deserved better and yes just when we were finally getting some character development for her she was unceremoniously thrown out of the game. I'm pretty sure we get more character development for the Danganronpa 2 characters in the last canon anime they released.
Make a video exploring the similarities and differences between the DR1 and the DR2 cases and the way they were used for the plot! I think it's a very interesting part of DR lore that is often overlooked, because since the surface similarities are so striking, people often don't bother to look deeper into the cases to find the other similarities/differences!
people have probably suggested this before my comment, but a comparison between naegi and komaeda/hajime and chiaki (both AI and the real one) would be pretty neat!
Please please do a character analysis of Hiyoko, she literally gets no spotlight at all: Interesting theory's: 1) why Hiyoko is so mean is because she was bullied 2) why Hiyoko is so arrogant is because her family always said she wasn't good enough or something 3) her dance about her father pretending to be crazy but he was protecting his daughter from perverts 4) her living with her grandma and why her grandmother took her 5) why she is so abusive towards Milan yet she admires mahiru, could mahiru remind her of her grandma or a motherly figure she never had? Idk but I don't know why ppl hate her, she's a little savage. Plus she can be someone's fave too and she gets a lot of backlash for being mean;-;
Dude, you literally just stated that Hyoko is mean and abusive towards Mikan. That backlash isn't unfounded, it's retribution for her attitude. She deserves that. Doesn't mean she can't change for the better but those kinds of actions, even if minor compared to murder, deserve karma smacking them up. I hate bullies. Sad past does not equal a free pass to be an asshole to other people and she kept pushing that on me, even during the trials where your life was at risk, so of course I would thouroughly hate her throughout the entire game. If you like her, then cool, I don't hate you for that but still. She _knew_ Mikan (not in despair) wasn't in a good shape already and she kept attacking the girl for that, breaking her spirit even more then it already is and _dear lord did I want to punch her each time that happened._ (on a side note though, DR2.5 made me happy to know that Mikan and Hyoko actually seemed to get along well, with Hyoko actually getting ready to cut a bitch and defend Mikan when Komaeda accidentally looked under her skirt)
Byakuya is abusive towards Toko, yet nobody dares to say that he's bad character. Which he is in my opinion. I hate this guy, he's so boring. Also, important note. We can't really treat their relationships in games the same as they were in their school life. Every time we meet a person for the first time, we might get a different opinion about them. Which means, that Hiyoko might think something else about Mikan in game, and have other opinion in school life. It doesn't seem like the case though. So, if Hiyoko is so awful cause she abused Mikan who she knew was already weak, then why do people like Byakuya? He used Tokos weakness against her in case 2.
Tressa Lane Im pretty sure people hate her because shes a bully. It goes beyond being a little mean when the person youre talking about reacts very poorly.
another thing to note that i'm surprised wasn't mentioned peko's voice actress wasn't the only one asked to play a role Sonia's seiyuu was asked to play Sonia after her role as Himari in Mawaru Penguindrum. Also, Akane was originally meant to be the rival character to Hinata, but that idea was scrapped and Komaeda too her place, making Akane become the small side character she became.
@Erika b It was supposed to be the other way around where Fuyuhiko died, and Hiyoko survived, but it would mean that Peko's sacrifice would go to waste. So in the end, he survived. But yeah, everyone has their opinion but the majority of the people in the fandom don't favor Hiyoko
Great video I did not know some of the info that was in here, so that was cool. I can totally see the similarities between Joker and Nagito Komaeda it's probably why he is my favorite character. I just love Nagito's character he is so fascinating and complex.
I'm gonna be honest. I assumed the reason that Hiyoko's obi was backwards was because she was killed while she was tying it herself. From what I've seen, when tying your own obi, you usually tie it in front of your body, then rotate it around so the knot is on your back
me personally, i would love to see a contrasting video between Makoto and Nagito. I just feel like that'd be something great to see, also a perhaps what if scenario for if the two actually traded places, like. if Nagito Actually did become the Ultimate Hope. But that's just what i think. It's up to you, personally.
I'm focusing less on the number of people who value Souda - and more on _how_ they value him. As a comic relief side character, Souda has just the amount of attention he deserves from fans. But as a mechanic? As someone who got a scholarship? As someone who tried to improve themselves and hence showed a deeper side to their character - Souda is hopelessly underrated. As proof, just look at the number of views on Souda's analysis videos, and then look at some more recent videos of Weeby...like this one. Which has gathered more views in a shorter amount of time? Now if Weeby News, God forbid, made a compilation video of how many times Sonia shot down Souda...that would get a lot more views. Does that mean Souda is appreciated? Yes, but not the way he deserves. How many people have gone for Souda in the FTEs? How many people have read in spinoff manga and searched for the raws of the remaining chapters? I'd love to be proven wrong on the fact that Souda is underrated and unloved...but the evidence against that is just too hard to ignore :\
4:05 while I was playing, because of this anagram and some similarities on their design, I was literally convinced Komaeda was actually Naegi. Only when Naegi showed up in the game I changed my mind
As sad as it would have been to have Fuyuhiko die after Peko sacrificed herself for him, I really would have liked to see Hiyoko get some much-needed character development. She started to become a better person after Mahiru died, and then she just died. We don't really see her develop much in DR3, either.
I would love it you made the video explains the different hopes. Also I have an idea for a quick video or hopefully a explanation. Can you make a video explaining Hajime's transformation to hope? You mentioned it in the Hajime analysis video and wondering if you can explain it more cause I want to understand it better.
Another interesting fun fact to mention is that the voice actress of Hajime, Minami Takayama, is also the voice actress of Conan in the anime Detective Conan. It's pretty cool coincidence since Hajime takes the leading role as a detective in the game, too
Just wanted to say thanks for putting all this information together into a video that's easy to process and promote individual thinking!! It's really cool, I didn't really know much or in fact very little of all the information you presented. Also, I'm glad your voice isn't a boring monotone. Some people can be really boring and expressionless.
Ah great to see my post being there in the description once again! It's the second time now, and this time didn't even approach you. Very neat to see it like this.
In the wiki on Nagito Komaeda it says that "Nagito is shown to be attracted characters of the same gender as him" and "In Dangnanronpa 2 Hajime was the only person Nagito was genuinely interested in and cared for in any meaningful way" If you visit the wiki on Nagito Komaeda in the video description you'll see this isn't a lie
Contrasting hope, relationship analysis and What If theories all sound like cool ideas! The What If theories have already made me speculate: What role would Nagito play if he made it to the last trial? What if Naegi died early? And of course, what would've happened if X was the mastermind? I look forward to the next video, regardless of what it's about.
Komaeda is such a complex character, which is why it pisses me off when people just brush him off with the ''he's crazy'' like.. yes, he is. But there's so much more to him, too. Kudos to the author for making such a character.
That Mahiru's and Hiyoko's foto is actually in game - you need have "Man's nut" (or smth like that) in you inventory to get it in chapter number 2 (just after Mahiru says she will help Hiyoko tie her kimono sash). Just like in Danganronpa 1 - you can get this item randomly in Monokuma Machine (or whatever it's called in Danganronpa 2)
holy danganronpa channel! I don't know how or why I've missed this channel up till now, but I've subscribed now! I look forward to watching your content in the future!
I actually find it kind of cool that Teruteru orignal sprites had him look more bishe. The reason why is cause the game mentions the fact that his brother and sister are the Ultimate Host and Baroque, and that he is dissapointed in them cause they only do it for money. While I doubt it I do wonder if it was sort of a hat tip to his original design. Also who knows what baroque means? I can not for the life of me figure it out, probably really simple and just flying over my head. Edits:changed the titles, added question, and also they were potential ultimates apparently
At first, I was proud as I was realizing that I knew each fact. Then, I realized that that's because I'd watched this video before already. But really, your videos are so great that I enjoy watching them again sometimes!
