Excellent info as always! Thanks for sharing your knowledge on dogs, Scott. By the way, I bought some kefir and gave some to my pup. She LOVED it! I then mixed it with the Nature's Logic Lamb and she ate all of the food! Thanks a ton!

@@DanScott1 hi Dan, would kefir be good for my diabetic dog..I'm starting her on the adding fresh foods and less kibble..she's on science diet likes it but I also give her turkey, but it's hillshire farme, I'm going to switch to, fresh sliced, I also give her eggs, I'm going to try some veggies, she's not big on broccoli, but I'm going to try others, chicken she has, she's bored with that, so I'm trying some other ideas you have..she's on two shots insulin a day, for a year now, but I commented before about all this but I guess I'm asking if kefir can help..I really wish to remove her from insulin but I lowered it a bit and got out of a routine I was in and was giving it at later times, then her eating was sporadic, I noticed it didn't help her, she was a little off balance, and had a couple accidents in house trying to get outside, so I had to look at what has changed and I found your site..her one eye got cloudy about ,6 months after diagnosis, and I saw your video on supplements for that..I don't know if by changing the diet, which I'm doing, can ultimately cure the diabetes but I would at least have her feel better..I was wondering if kefir would help..and I saw your other videos as it seems diet is the culprit of many ailments..she gets summer allergies where I thought it was from flea bite, so I had her treated at vet, they gave her a shot that helped the first time, but after second shot, she soon got lethargic and was diagnosed with diabetes..I believed the shot caused it but the only thing I knew to do was accept insulin treatment as she was very sick..so here we are about two years in, the medicine helped her levels, as I went every three months, and levels were good..I haven't gone in over 6 months or more and this is when all this other stuff happened..my schedule shifted to a sporadic one and I believe it affected her...I want her to be healthy and feel good but am also afraid of her going off insulin..another thing is how would I dose her if and when I see improvement ..would I go to the vet like before to get blood test, then it would reveal her not needing as much insulin..also if she is feeling better and noticable, wouldn't me dosing her be hurting her? I'm confused on this..well ty so much. Her allergies in summer are itching, and she gets ear mites, I use Otis with cortisone for that, it helps I just hope it's ok for her, I saw you mention Neem oil...I really thought she had a reaction to fleas at first, but now I don't know if it's weather related..I used a collar setesto on her and she didn't react to it, and didn't itch like before so I thought that helped with my suspicion of flea allergy, but I don't want harmful chemicals in her either..so it's hard to tell if it's both..with collar, no intense itching last summer..so I don't know an alternative to collar if one flea bite causes reaction..well. Thank you so much..your videos are very helpful..it's just hard to know where to start sometimes .lol. Ty..❤️❤️🌻🌟

@@Pug1948 Wow! Quite a story there Jackie. Ok, let me see, feed a whole food natural diet only, no kibbles any more and make sure to have zero sugars, carbs, drugs, stress, vaccines (all important). Part cook and blend the veggies for best digestion. Use a soil based probiotic in every meal: amzn.to/3yoURqU (start small and build up dose over several days). Better idea than kefir too because of the allergies situation. Whan allergies are gone going forward, then use kefir. Don't use poison collars! Neem oil is best. A natural diet will lessen the need for insulin over time so just keep testing at the vets as you do. Don't use the Otis, use neem at 1 part neem oil to 5 parts carrier oil ie Olive/grape seed or almond oil, mix and use to clean the ear out of debrie, will also deter mites. Also dab on the neck and usual flea spots twice weekly for protection. Use the neem instead of collar, very effective. : amzn.to/3iV0Igq Ebook on complete diet options: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ Also get some protect for the gut health in relation to those allergies: : (humic & fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i

Can dogs eat mushrooms (shitake, white and brown button mushrooms, portabello, oyster mushrooms, shimeiji mushrooms)? Raw and chopped? I'm confused as some say it's toxic.
@DanScott1
@DanScott1 Год назад
Yes, all of those. Sacred 7 Mushroom Extract Powder - USDA Organic - Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Maitake, Shiitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga - amzn.to/3CLiI6y The medicinal ones are the best as they have beta glucans, anti cancer properties and much more science behind them.

Sir, do you recommend green peas that are shelled or not? As well, which in your opinion is better, frozen veggies or veggies in a cans (no salt)? As always, thank you for what you do.
@DanScott1
@DanScott1 2 года назад
Green peas shelled and mashed/blended so they are efficiently digested. Frozen veggies are best, but have a few cans as backup when frozen is not available.

I see you recommended a vegetable alternative "Vibrant Health - Green Vibrance". What dosage rate would you give to the dogs?? And How often??
@DanScott1

I'd add to 1 meal per day. 100lb dog-2/3rds scoop, 50lb dog-1/3rd scoop, 25lb dog 1/6th scoop. 8lb Chi -large pinch. All the best.

I really want to switch my two English Mastiffs to a raw diet but I can’t afford raw food right now. I would need to buy a lot of meat etc to feed them. One weighs 130lbs and growing. The other one weighs 150 lbs. Roughly how much raw food will each of them need? Both of my dogs have skin issues, scratching non stop the list goes on and on. Nothing is helping. I tried putting coconut oil in their kibble daily. Which nothing is improving still. My vet has me giving them Benadryl and that’s not even helping them. Obviously raw food is what they both need. I guess I’m just scared to switch right over to it. Will they get upset tummies when they start a raw diet? I’m going to order some Silver spray for their ears. Will the silver help with yeast in between their toes? Thanks for all these very informative videos!!
@DanScott1
@DanScott1 2 года назад
That's two BIG eaters you have there. They'll need about 2.5lb food daily each, so around $10-$15 daily at minimum. Around $450 per month should do it. Is that doable? Stay away from Benadryl - toxic! There's a plan here and needs attention and detail to follow through but yes, I can get your dogs in great health and yes it involves mostly fresh food/supplements. Here is my One to One Dog Health Email Consultation WAY cheaper than the vets and way healthier than Benadryl! The silver spray works well on the ears, run a 7 day protocol then stop: amzn.to/3gJ16i3 While doing this add soil based probiotics only: amzn.to/3yoURqU and live enzymes: amzn.to/37MrINq and keep adding them to all meals.

My dog has prolonged scratching also. I tried the coconut oil and benadryl just made him sleepy. I'm searching too.

I've also tried probiotics. My Pitt has environmental allergies and is allergic to poultry. An allergy shot helps, but vegetables and ground beef help. his immune system

Yes, fine, just defrost to above room temp before mashing/crushing or blending so the dog can digest the veg more easily.

hello i have a couple of question. i just watched a video and in comments you suggested live enzymes and soil probiotics. i have around 1.5 hours to order so i can get and use today but my question is if i'm adding vegetables should i also add the live enzymes? also the 6g of veggies that you recommend, is that daily pr per meal? i have 2 rotties and they're raw fed. 3 days ago the age 5 one started showing symptoms of beef allergy (when i remove that and pork and only did fish he was fine) and the 4 year of age one has had ongoing yeast infections in both ears and paws. my plan is to take them off raw for 2-4 months so system can reset and add one of 3 kibbles you suggested along with veggies, sardines, mackerel and raw chicken bones. will also be doing homemade kefir, ground sunflower & flaxseeds, chia seeds, hemp oil and an egg. all of these items i've been doing minus vegetable intake on a regular basis. i use to also do beef or chicken livers, chicken feet, gizzards and hearts when i could find them.
@DanScott1

I'd do the soil based probiotics for the ear infection dog: amzn.to/3yoURqU Add veggies at up to 10% of meal volume. Part cook and blend is best. If you don't want to add veggies, a green superfood powder is also great: healthydogforlife.com/GreenImmuneSuperfood For the allergy response, it's the gut that needs attention. Use Gut Guard - amzn.to/3AwRsYe This will help gut health improve a lot better and whats needed. For the ongoing ear infections directly, use silver (antibiotic) spray directly into the ear twice daily for 10 days then stop: amzn.to/3gJ16i3 My new favorite kibble is Ketona: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble Simply because it's 47% actual protein and only 7% carbs. So to add into your diet is perfect. Basically it's a protein based kibble, the highjest of any kibble I've researched anywhere. I'd also add in a fast day once per week, no food, just water for 24hrs as a health practice. Some form of offal ie liver is needed in the diet at 10% meal volume. And yes, you don't need extra live enzymes on a raw food diet.

@@DanScott1 okay thank you, i had that kibble in cart (saw from a comment exchange with you and someone else on the 3 kibble video) but wanted to grab something else so i could start asap. i will go back and order the ketona. greatly appreciated for all the advice, i love what you're doing.

@@DanScott1 i was telling a neighbor about ketona and he suggested a brand named ziwi. it's air dried with no preservatives, sugars or glycerides. would you recommend this over ketona? an 8.8 pound bag is $180 and these are the ingredients "Mackerel, Lamb, Lamb Heart, Lamb Tripe, Lamb Liver, Lamb Lung, New Zealand Green Mussel, Lamb Kidney, Lamb Bone, Lecithin, Inulin from Chicory, Dried Kelp, Minerals (Dipotassium Phosphate, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Amino Acid Complex, Copper Amino Acid Complex, Iron Amino Acid Complex, Manganese Amino Acid Complex, Selenium Yeast), Salt, Parsley, Preservative (Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols), Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid)."
@DanScott1
@DanScott1 2 года назад
@@iamlovetwentysix I know Ziwi. It's more of a topper at that price plus you have to be careful how they calculate protein in the bag. Crude protein is around 38% on the chicken for example but with 30% fat while the Ketona is 47% protein and I think around 18% fat and just 7% carbs and natural vitamins/minerals too. My choice is Ketona with some fresh foods used as toppers ie eggs, canned sardines ( in water) and some part cooked and blended veg. That's how I would go about this If I were you. For much less money you get 24lb at 47% protein and very low carbs. Then add the topper fresh yourself as stated above.
