@gatmnear not if you are touring on motorcycle. Even though it's not Google maps it works for most situation. The pulsar can't show any direction with it's rpm needle if I'm not wrong 😆😆
@@user_Shadow_YTI agree with you the rpm needle is an emotion ❤ and the new Apache 160 2v don't get it else it gets a 160 4v cluster but it looks so ugly on the 2v
Dual-channel ABS is unheard of in this segment. This should be standard in all the motorcycles in this segment. Now that Bajaj has set a standard in this segment, I hope other manufactures follow its footsteps.
@@arifzain6844 Power is not Everything in a Motorcycle. Power is merely a 30% importance in a Motorcycle. Handling, Aerodynamics, Braking, Chassis Stability, Rigidity are Equally Important Aspects in a Motorcycle.
As N160 owner, I am loving it so far. after lot of research i went for it, never regret. Great stability at high rpms, super break handling, decent mileage 50+ at highways, 45+ city. Stunning looks❤ Idle for height rider’s
@@Zer0-0Bro that depends on your height if your height is above 5.8 then it will have aggressive posture but that's also not a problem just change the handle grip and you are done 👍 It only give pain on palms of hand rest it's sitting posture is only little bit aggressive not a problem for back
Exclusion of Unicorn 160 is disappppointing, It is practically a better choice, great honda engine, good suspension, 187 mm gc, pricewise not very high too, If the exclusion of unicorn is because of outdated looks, then xblade 160 would have been a good choice here
One of the best reviews i saw in 160cc segments Confused between Apache and pulser Decided to go with Apache because of comfortable pillion seat for women
@@shreyasdharashivkar8027 Kaise ho sakta hain ye ???😱 Mera bhi same haal hain...😜 2020 January mein bike liya tha after graduation...Mummy aur GF both said ki unchi pillion seat wali bike nehi lene ke liye...Toh maine bhi Unicorn utha liya. Bring in reliability, and long term usage and Yamaha just wins it.. i still feel fzs should have used instead of fz x. Fz x is more of a cruiser and not more of a naked sports kinda bike like others.
Proud owner of pulsar n160 dual channel abs. It does not demand any sort of high maintenance and with bajaj's wide service network and parts availability, there has never been any issue.
I ride a Gixxer 155 BS3, first edition. Still rocking with its 14.8 bhp and 135kg weight , giving me a mileage of 52km/l even after 8 years. You can trust Japanese machines.
There is one Japanese machine that wasn't even considered... But I guess it's not a sporty commuter. It's the MT15. Personally I think Yamaha stopped trying after the MT15. They're basically like "Remember how we made that one motorcycle? That shit SLAPS"
I have had my Honda xblade for 4 years now .. no issues till date , mileage is always between 40-45 . Every 3-4 months i need to travel from bhopal to Indore journey of 250kms , engine is smooth , reliable and no vibrations are present till date . Maintainence cost is also reasonable
@@PS-ug7nm if you ride below 5000rpm upto 4 gears its easy above 50kmph on highways and above 46kmph on city rides. I get 45+ above no matter the condition and yes i do drive aggressive occasionally.
@@nitesh_666 I've personally never used the bluetooth features on my own bike 😂 they're completely useless according to me. And coming to the performance part, it never feels lacking, it can keep up with NSs & Dukes pretty well.
the lean angle calculated is quite pointless in my opinion. there are too many variables - tyres, road conditions, suspension setup, overall rider confidence/skill, and how the bike itself feels to you. the last one is important because, lets say for example, you are more comfortable and your body is better suited to the gixxer than the pulsar, so obviously you will be able to push the gixxer more than the pulsar. using an app to determine the winner seems gimmicky
U answered yourself, if the suspension setup is soft rider will feel the liniting factor. The only variable is tyre grip, which differs according to the rubber quality, tyre profile etc. It is indeed useful to compare them on the same road as u will see the handling difference across bikes and also the good and ugly with the stock tyres, realistically not many change to a costlier tyre right out of the showroom
Even the water spilling test seems pointless... too many random variables to determine the ranks Unless you do it 30-40 times with each bike to get a statistically significant result
@@skarrin6207thats my point, the app is useless. the app cannot determine the suspension setup or how the tyre grips or how confident the rider is. the cornering test is great, but using the app to make the final answer is gimmicky
@@apolloxlix679 If the same rider tries all biies and gets different bikes then I think the difference in lean angles is a direct measure of how confident the bike felt to that particular rider, if u change the rider the lean angles may shift but the relative standings will remain very similar.
The first two tests were sponsered by Bajaj clearly as the rear wheel of pulsar was lifted so much that no rider is going to do the same in real life so the breaking distance of 33 meters is completely false and the next is using old apache in lean test .. I'm from my experience can say that lean angle on apache is clearly much better due to combination of suspension and tyres itself. This type of Cheating in test was not expected by Zigwheels.
@@anasthakur3244Dude N160 is the only motorcycle with Dual Channel ABS here and also with Larger 300MM Disc with Gremica brakes so N160 is clearly got advantage here
@@ripster36 I never said brakes on N160 are bad. I just said the braking test conducted by rider was not proper. You can clearly see the rear wheel of N160 in air while braking. Not everyone is going to stop the bike like that. The rider cheater on that test.
Lol bro doing a stoppie does not improve braking performance it does the opposite in fact. Only one tire means less surface area which equals less traction and more distance to stop. It's likely that they did the braking test normally and then added that bit for some fun.
@@fieryspy6414but MT15 is a commuter tho. I think it's the best commuter .. decent power ,very good mileage. The only thing it lacks is pillion comfort .but for College students looking for a stylish commuter ..MT15 is the best option
I have xtreme 160r and i accept Apache can do well in 0-60 but pulsar never go that much quick bcz my frnd have one and we have compared it with my xtreme and xtreme can beat n160 in 0-100 any day 👍❤
Conclusion: FZ-X is the most stupid bike anyone can buy.. FZ-S instead wouldve performed far better esp in terms of cornering & acceleration.. The Best: Very easy to pick just by 1 factor Dual Channel ABS - Pulsar N160..
If commuting is purpose then minor difference in 0-60kmph timing / Lean angle should not be the criteria all of them are equally good we will be riding them on roads not the track ! it's all about practicality & long term reliability & that zing connection with the bike !
@@rahulpatnaikji agree, its overpriced. but i chose it anyway. my budget couldnt reach mt15, and fz is too underpowered so i got gixxer instead. since i am living in hilly areas the engines are more stressed easily, so longevity of the engine is lesser. in these situations the longevity and reliability of japanese brands is still unmatched
@@apolloxlix679 gone are those qdr days of japanese brands. Now indian brands are able to make equally durable and reliable engines if not better. I would have gone for the rtr160 if I were in your place as it has 4 valve and oil cooled engine compared to 2 valve air cooled of gixxer and get riding gear for the same money
There are a few aspects in the comparison that are slightly biased! Clearly the use of 7000+ km driven apache will affect its score in cornering and comfort due to worn out tyres. And also it's technically apache the more efficient bike considering the fact that it has 4 valves in its piston head whereas the other bikes don't therefore it gives more low end torque and better mid range in city traffic so ultimately it's it's efficiency of 47 in city is as good as 51 or 52 of other competitors. Considering these odds Apache stands the clear winner!!!
Bro , Pulsar is not getting sales as per expectations so they sponsored Zigwheels😂 . The braking test was clearly baised as rear tyre of pulsar was in air which is not ideal braking condition and lean angle on apache is better as compared to pulsar + The fuel efficiency of Apache is better as compared to pulsar .
In my opinion, this assessment is a little sloppy, and the comparison of the equipment lists is absurd. They are using a TVS with worn tyres which impact handling and braking. According to the reviewer, they preferred the FZ-S to the FZ-X. FZ-X is more geared towards retro vibe so don't fit in this sporty commuter character that well. Dual channel ABS and a USB charger are both listed as having the same value under equipment.
@@avinashyadav7289 bro yaar maintenance matters. I have seen many pulsar Bikes in our relatives house n they maintained their bikes well. So no p* star type sound yeah.. BS3 makes lot of sound I agree.. BS4 has improved bit BS6 improved more But new gen Pulsars are the best till date in refinement among the whole pulsar series.
Believe me I was going for pulsar n160 but When I saw that bike In real I didn’t liked at all the size looks more smaller compared to it power and other bikes You should include the new pulsar ns 160 also fzs v4 coz I’m still waiting for my perfect motorcycle now I’m thinking for mt15 😂
Absolutely loved this review. Its as an all round review that I have never seen anyone make till date except for that suspension testing which was done on literally an off road course with a guy hiding the container. His hand itself was acting as a suspension to counter the kickback from the bumps. The light spread test was something I really loved cos good light especially in this era where one has proprietary LED lights, is highly essential to know. Like old times, One just can't change to brighter bulb and get away with it. And yes its a shame to see that the Japanese bikes have devolved into such uninteresting bikes. I still ride the original FZ16 the one that started this trend and i love it. Now if it's not yo much to ask, can you people make the same kinda comparison video with 250cc bikes.
@@abhishekrajputminhas630 bro I am planning to take , what's your suggestions. I am confused between Apache and this , and also tell me the reason for your suggestion.
Bro if you want a bike with good mileage ,looks, adn performance you can go ahead , power is good . I dont jeed bluetooth because i have smartwatch for notifications usb charging is provided in bike which is important and dual channel abs is best , looks are so damn good, people will ignore apache if both are placed at same place, 55+ mileage in city with premium petrol, pickup is good but after 4000rpm you can feel the real power the beast mode. Bike feels little heavy as compare to others and handling is little bit heavier side
Thrill always is not a good thing ......recommend people for long lasting engines ......160cc segment bikes are mostly purchased by middle-class people with their hard-earned money.....why always crying out for acleration leaning ....try to include about repairs, resale value, service, consistency, comfort
Why should you include rtr if it's relatively old when compared to other bikes? Cornering goes to rtr cause of radial tyre, mileage depends on the person who has been using that bike since it cloaked above 5k km. And initial 60 ,rtr reaches max 4.98 sec lol.. How the hell its 5+ seconds? That bike has some serious issues and you brought that bike for a comparison 😂☠️ !! The funny fact is despite all this rtr became 2nd out of others. So clearly rtr is the winner here.
Lean angle test was a very interesting thing, did you swap riders between bikes ? The FZX is a joke, thanks so much for including it, good entertainment, possibly one of the ugliest designs ever to come out. Gixxer too is painfully outdated. I wouldn't trust a Bajaj product no matter how good they look & how premium it feels, when new, they often degrade very quickly especially the engine & basic electronics like instrument console. Very surprised with Hero, excited to see the new bikes they are bringing. The now 4-year old RTR 160 4V looks to be an overall better package than all of these bikes & that's really saying something, I do miss the old headlight design, the new one looks very odd.
I owned n160 and happy that i don't go with apache because i have smartwatch I don't need Bluetooth.n160 is far better allrounder. New fresh looks and better in all aspects..this is truly inproved pulsar..better than ns160 its topend is far better ..
That's a old model of Apache, if you go with the new Model, it will perform much better than others. The only point where apache lags is Dual Channel ABS... else, it's the best in segment.
Companies should provide some way to check tire air pressure in phone or on speedometer. It will help alot. Improve average, ride quality, long rides become more safe.
It feels like hero xtreme was betrayed by the last rating of 9 if it would be from 5 xtreme was too close to apache or if we test weight it would get a 5 too
The new FI Gixxer does not have the same connect and fun like the OG carburetted Gixxer. The OG Gixxer could have outclassed all the bikes here when it comes to cornering
I'd still go with Fz-s or Fz-x anyday, yes it does lack performance, but that is it's advantage, it has a reliable engine which will outlast all other bikes in the division. Yamaha's engineering is the best, that's why it's legendary Fz series is not only relevant since 2008 to this day, it dominates the sales figures. The one department where it shines is reliability and longevity.
Apache definately deserved more. Worn out tyres unfortunately give issues in pick up, stop and lean where it lost out. Could have been issue. Thanks for calling it out
Loved❤ video. Hoping for more comparisons based on real life scenarios like these. Bought fz 5 months ago. Now feel like I have missed chance to get n160😅
@@offaryaan it's good old reliable machine. I'm happy that it won't give big problems in future but wanted something extra, like performance or better headlights. Will try to enjoy it while it's my primary bike.
@@pratikvanc6244reliability comes down to maintaining your bike well. I have used Fz and Pulsar 150 both. The Fz was owned and maintained by my friend before i got my hands on it and trust me, it was a money hogging machine in terms of repair. Whereas the pulsar 150 that i am using currently (2010) model, is running like a beast. I have spent money in maintaining pulsar and in return that bike is giving me reliability.
Everyone just go for the pulsar N160, trust me you're never going to regret it over Apache, its better in sound, refinement and everything....and Looks omg
Use new Apache and fzs rather than fzx then only the right comparison will be made... Definitely Apache would have been on top and xtreme and fzs would have been neck to neck.... And one correction FZ wasn't the first 160cc sporty commuter but Apache was......
Can we appreciate Bajaj for developing such a bike which not only looks sexy but also drives sexy. But I still don't understand why had Yamaha launched or even innovate a bike like FZ-X Jai Hind 🇮🇳
I was happily living with my 2014 Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi until I got laid off last year and started a freelance gig from home. I didn't ride much during this time and thought I'd sell my Avenger and buy a scooter which is a convenient option for getting groceries and because my wife could ride it as well, so I got a Hero Maestro Edge. But lately, I've been missing my Avenger and I just got a job in a school in a village 25 km away from my home, so I'm thinking of getting a second hand bike with good mileage under ₹30,000. Any suggestions you guys have?
No hate on other bikes but we used a worn out tire so it didnt lean better but trust us it accelerated and braked and every test with no place to improve... Remember the worn out tore only afalected the lean angle..
Fz's tank shrouds literally come off in weeks. Build quality is meh at best but but... I love shilling Japanese companies. What's the use of lasting a lifetime when Gixxer has the poorest service network of all the bikes?
The best 160cc bikes comparison in RU-vid. I'm a big Apache fan guy but new pulsar NS nailed it in both 160 & 200cc segment. Now @TVS must focus on performance like liquid cooling engine, 6th gear , acceleration & brakes over features. Youngsters wants performance no one care shit about features.
No matter how good the hero bikes are they have a least market resale value of all 5 .. my brother had one from last 2 year he planned to buy Ather, that's why he enquire for a exchange they put just 55000 for his bike.. even he try to sell his bike on olx .. but no queries yet. Another big problem is poor spare part availability and quality. Hero is no more like the older hero Honda
I haven't ridden the new pulsars but bring a fresh Apache (not the 2 year old machine) and I think things would be different. RTR 200 owner here and I have learnt so much on the bike that most people cannot dare to go as fast as me on hills and only chapri riders with 0 IQ can keep up with me in city traffic
One of the underrated bike in this segment is Honda Xblade. Great engine refinement and gud comfort and power. Moreover i'm getting 60kmpl at highways if ridden at 70kmph
Not just Pulsar and Apache ..all of the mentioned bikes have long term reliability issues. But the catch is Bajaj's vast service network makes life easier because of the spare parts availablity.thats where the rest sucks
I am surprised they Zigwheela didn't include the Honda Unicorn ! If quality of product, reliability and seating ergonomics is what matters most in daily commuter bikes, The Japs win hands down !!!
The Yamaha's ugly duckling is the worst design I have seen , From every angle it looks like a botched up plastic surgery, old FZ was an Icon and this one is utter disappointment
a huge point was missed here that is an inclusion of a kick starter which in my books gives huge brownie points to Xtreme 160R and simply makes it a winner
@@SuperImbadude not always but when it fails you realize the importance of it and I don't really see a sense of why kick starter were removed...a lot of you will say it is to protect the fuel pump from getting damaged in FI system but how is Hero Motocorp providing this...I don't mind paying a extra 1000rs to get a kick start....also Pulsar NS160 comes with a kick so I am assuming it will fail daily
