I return to this video whenever I am looking for additional motivation and inspiration. This was a monumental effort and an incredible achievement. This deserves many more views (as do your other videos).
That was fantastic and kept me captivated all the way through to the end. Those wolf pictures are likely the treasures of a lifetime. About two weeks before your trip I was in Algonquin adventuring on the Tim River. Along the way Luke and I travelled through Big Trout out to Canoe Lake. Water levels were lower for us based on the Otterslide sections of your video. We also had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Jordan and Ben, two other adventurers completing the Brent Run at the time! Thanks for sharing your video!
Thanks! I really appreciate your comment. Yes the wolves were definitely the highlight of my trip! Great interview with Jordan and Ben - I had a laugh watching that 😄 Cheers!
Wow! What an amazing challenge. Well done. No need to apologize for the filming. A great video is first and foremost about the story, and you had a great story. It’s not about capturing every detail, but about capturing the essential details, and this you did whether by instinct or design. I was totally engaged from beginning to end. 👏👏👏
Absolutely incredible! I didn't think you would finish in less than 48 hours. Quite an amazing accomplishment, and the wolves siting/moose/scenery make it all worth it. So glad you filmed it.
Caught up on another one Kev! Great video! No apologies necessary for the filming! You did an outstanding job considering the endurance that it took to do this in only 2 days! Amazing wildlife scenes! I’ve heard many a wolf pack howling but have never seen one in the wild! I’ll continue catching up and in the meantime you take care!
It's crazy how there are so few views and not many subs. Currently 5.3k views and 1.27k subs. This channel deserves lots more. Hopefully, the algorithm will pick this up and put it out there. Good luck with your channel. It's very good quality.
Awesome video dude. It’s crazy you haven’t got a million subscribers but I think that will change rapidly. Excellent content, well presented and beautiful scenery. You worked hard to make this video thank you for sharing
I've been to Algonquin many times and never saw anyone who could cover that much distance so fast. And to encounter so much wildlife in that short time. You have to be the "Loon Whisperer" to get so close especially going past a nest. I wonder if the moose with bloody legs had just fended off another nipping wolf. Thanks for sharing.
wow!! Now that is beast mode. I feel done at 20 km. Not to be critical, but it would have been way better if a loop was done, to cover that much ground twice. They should make it up to the nipissing and over, then that route back. or over to opeongo.
@@kevinthewild Yeah the Nipissing, quickly on google earth in a straight line is a third more, plus it would be half the speed so forget that...although it would be nice.
I can admire your strength and endurance, but I wonder if canoeing should ever be a competitive enterprise. For me, paddling was always a place to relax, view nature, watch birds, fish, and get away. Humans seem to need to compete and go fast, but there are many other ways to do that.
This was a personal challenge for me. I wanted to test myself doing something that I love. But I agree with you Kevin. Canoe tripping is my way to escape, reflect, and reconnect with nature. I’m glad I did this, but my future trips will once again be about enjoying my time out in the wilderness.
Accept the variability in humans. Your values are not others. Yes, humans want to go fast and exceed limits. It’s what makes us the dominant species. Live with it. You do you. But, importantly, let other humans do what they value. Thanks. 😅
Hi Kev…. Wild solo journey for you. Strenuous work to paddle all that way. What a sweet victory. I think you did save that Moose. What a great video. You complete your challenge, see wolves chasing a Moose and then you become a hero. Maybe the calf was hiding nearby? Wow. 😱 Congratulations on completing The Brent Run, my young friend. I hope you might visit my channel sometime. Thankyou so much for sharing your wonderfully challenging, wild adventure with us. Take care Kev, looking forward to seeing you again. Cheers, Eh. 👌🙌😇 🌟 LilliStJohn
Awesome Run!! My buddy Frank and I ran it a week before (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ryf6D9Pcgeg.html). It was great to see pretty much the same images we encountered but from a different perspective. You kicked ass! Are we in the golden age of the Brent Run? First solo... new record time... all within the same month? Great to see the wolves! And that crazy loon still sitting on that nest.
