If I was in Alaska I would want a Honda too 👍🏼. Its no longer about who gets back to camp the fastest, it’s who makes it back period 😂

One is a working 4 wheeler and also more stable on hills when sideways. The other is a rideing 4 wheeler.

Honestly, the suspension is so stiff on the Rubi that you don't get much more comfort at all with IRS, and the solid axle will slide around corners on tight trails better. I loved my Rubi but I like my foreman just fine its a great machine

People really have forgotten the benefits to solid rear axles. There is a reason sport quads never changed from sra. It's definitely has its pros, but it certainly has its cons as well!

Here's some info for ya: In 2014, Honda revamped the body style and added some features (like diff-lock) to the Honda Foreman, after only 2 years of the previous body style (and people say Honda doesn't change - paleeeease! - lol). In 2014, they also revamped the Honda Rancher to similar body lines as the Foreman. In 2015, Honda completely redid the Honda Rubicon to include IRS, diff-lock, new body lines, different engine & tranny, etc. This was a major overhaul. In the engine compartment, Honda decided to use the 475cc from the Foreman (down from the 499cc in the old Rubicon). They also provided a choice of 3 different transmissions for the Rubicon (manual foot shift, Electric Shift, and the Automatic DCT with high/low range. The DCT is a racing transmission they used in their cars & had previously used it in the Rancher (my wife's 2009 Rancher has the DCT with IRS). To answer your query on whether the body lines were different from one year to the next in this review of the 2016 vs 2017, the answer is NO. Although the Rubicon & Foreman have similar looking body lines, this is where it ends. The body pieces are different sizes and do not swap over. This goes for the cargo racks also. The only similarity between the Foreman and the Rubicon is that they share the same engine and manual transmission (if that's the option you choose) along with possibly a few parts (ie: front brake assembly perhaps, front shocks perhaps, etc). Oh, and I overheard the owner of the Foreman suggesting they have the same tires, but they don't. They're the same size, but the Ribicon has upgraded tires. I hope this helps. Thanx for the post. Have a great Brokday Broknex!

Both great machines, we love our 2016 Rubicon. Quite a few more differences, but looks like Quad already covered those. ;) For me the selling point for Rubi over Foreman was diff/lock, redesigned rear brake setup, IRS and DCT.
@Broknex
@Broknex 6 лет назад
Yeah, I agree, I would get a Rubicon, too! But I ride harder than a lot of people do and the Foreman is a fantastic bike for mellow folk or as a work rig!

@@Broknex Hello. I come from Poland . I have a question and I am asking for an answer. What's the difference between Honda foreman 500fa6 (2017) and Honda foreman rubicon deluxe (2017) independent suspension? if you can, please reply 😁

@Broknex

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of terrain you want to tackle. For basic-go-everywhere and dependability, you can't go wrong with a Honda Rancher 420. The next most dependable is a Yamaha. Any Yamaha. VERY bulletproof machines. I would stay away from the smaller, more affordable Polaris's. The 850 and 1000 Polaris machines made for mud are awesome. Same with the big Can-Am's, but both are REAL expensive. If you find something you're interested in, feel free to ask us! We've more than likely owned one or worked on it! LOL

I have a 2003 rancher now.. it has 900 mile on it used for plowing... I want something with power steering and more ground clearance... looking to do more ice fishing videos... I like the Grizzly Ribicon and Can am 570 xt..

@Broknex
@Broknex 5 лет назад
@@badgerfarmgirl336 My brother has that '17 Rubicon and it is a GREAT machine and of the three you listed, would be my pick. The EPS is fantastic, but the transmissions options have changed. They now use an electronic transmission, and can be problematic in cold weather. The Grizzly is my choice #2. Older technology, unchanged in a decade, which means VERY dependable and bullet proof. Simple CVT Belt transmission that NEVER breaks and is VERY easy to maintain. Just get on and ride. The Grizzly has a much bigger engine than the Rubicon and uses more fuel. The FRAME of the Yamaha is a lot more stout and can handle more gear and abuse than the Honda. If you might have noticed, I have not mentioned much about the Can-Am. That's because it is nowhere near as dependable as either of the other two. It is more comfortable than the Yamaha, but not built as well. The EPS can fail on the Can-Am, and there is no diff lock, which is necessary in winter or problematic trails. Both Honda and Yamaha have Diff Lock included. Hope this helped. Happy wheeler shopping, my friend!!

Thanks for clearly up the Can Am.. out... I now will need shop for the best deal ... my rancher now has ESP and I have to admit it's more fun to drive for me

I think the green one would handle better off road! The wheels are smaller, the red one may flip over. I'm not an off roader, just a wild guess. Thank you for your demonstration!
