I don’t know what I’m more impressed with, the bike, that little stove, or you for trying something like this. Very cool!

@Camilo Pineda For sure! The UBCO 2x2 and titanium stove are two awesome pieces of gear! 👍

get studs for the tires- Grip-studs - I've taken my Surron up the mtn trails and ski resort when snow frozen
@ElectricCycleRider

@gordy cross For sure. I was thinking about studding them for the ice but decided not to. The biggest challenge was the deep snow. Need to run some more aggressive tires with studs for the best combo. Next winter! 👍

now imagine packing 400W of foldable PV panels to give the batteries some extra range. I reckon they work even more efficiently in the glistening winter sun compared to 100+F Sure, no long distance trips, but being able to be autonomous and able to move around bit by bit : ) Also, loving those snow packed wheels preventing the motors (and controller) from getting hot (maybe offsetting the lower performance of the battery in the cold to a degree)

Great outing and feedback on the UBCO. Impressive performance and a good kit you put together. I would like to know more about battery performance in cold conditions like that? I was guessing you were going to cover it for overnight snow. Keep those outings and evaluations coming.

I used my dad's 2x2 to pull my huge buck out of the woods without field-dressing it first. It did great. I'm going to get one for myself with a trailer. Sure beats my quiet cat ebike performance and capacity-wise. Definitely going to use it every year bowhunting. It's a guarantee to have a full freezer of venison or feral hog. Much cheaper than grocery shopping these days. Also because I spot and stalk not hide in a blind or tree stand it gives me the element of surprise being so quiet getting into the top of the valleys where deer migrate through to watering holes. Ebikes are a game-changer for us Bowhunters. I make my own bows & arrow shafts.

I've thought about this too but it seems the Game Lands round here in PA I would not be allowed to ride one of these into the deeper areas :(

The snow is probably one of the only ways to use this bike with its overheating problems. I considered getting one for bush exploration and camping, but I'd need something that can work hard in 40c+ temperatures. Glad the bike has a use, because other than the overheating issue its a great utility bike. Just no good in most of Australia.

Once they properly develop solid state batteries those overheating issues will be a thing of the past

Looks like you assist walked it in the snow a lot. You need a Surron with a snow track. That Titanium stove is awesome. Loved the BarMitts. I thought you would bring the battery in the tent with you to keep it from freezing. Doesn't look like the deep freezing cold affected it much. Great video!

I doubt the rear wheel only surron will outperform the Ubco in any terrain. Sportier, sure, but in terms of off-road practicability, low weight and load carrying capacity Ubco can't be beat by any e-bike

@12:25 out of curiosity, it looks like you left your battery out in the snow overnight. True? Was your range affected the next morning?
@velotill
@velotill Год назад
Although cold affects a batteries performance to some degree, simply using it in the cold is much less of an issue compared to making attempts at charging it in sub zero temps (unlike temp controlled car batteries...)

Thanks for the awesome video. I just brought one in New Zealand and I am looking to take out in the Southern Alps in winter so was curious about how it handles in snow. What brand tent and fire is that?

I really like these and was considering one, but the top speed killed it for me. I don’t need to fly but near my house if you are going less than 40 you are a road hazard. If it had a 45 top speed I would have one now. Perfect country errand and honey do bike.
@multi-task5909
@multi-task5909 2 года назад
Indeed; too slow.
@ElectricCycleRider
@ElectricCycleRider 2 года назад
@Trajan FPV I hear you. 45mph+ top speed would be really nice on this bike. I believe the reason for limiting top speed is that it keeps the bike under specific vehicle classes, depending on where you live. Also, the higher the top speed, the quicker the battery depletes. 30mph helps this bike go the distance. Anyways, all of those points being said, I agree with you. Top speed could be higher. Maybe the next generation will unlock this? We'll see...
@ElectricCycleRider
@ElectricCycleRider 2 года назад
@@multi-task5909 For sure. It's limiting. Maybe the next generation will have an option for higher top speed.
@trajanfpv
@trajanfpv 2 года назад
@@ElectricCycleRider Valid points. The bike is very good for slow speed work, and I really like how the time and effort to make it street legal. I hope you are right and the next version will be available with a 45mph top speed.
