PC18 is incredible. So happy to have gotten a hand on it. Just received their Rock’ndaal 3.2 which is a 20 yr old in Bourbon and Sauternes casks. Could not be more excited to open that one up for a dram!

Choosing a favorite Islay distillery is like choosing between my kids!

When I first started my whisky journey I got into bourbons and ryes but now I prefer single malts, both peated and nonpeated. Bruichladdich is one of my favorite distilleries...O the Octomore! and I would totally snap up that port charlotte 18 if I can ever find one.

Man I am so excited for both of these, will snag one of them if I get the chance. Between the two in definitely choosing the port Charlotte though

Damn I love the Port Charlotte 10 I bet the 18 is fantastic. Hope to see those bottles in my area… My favorite scotches are Lagavulin 16 and Port Charlotte 10 and the Highland Park cask strength and 15 and 18 year old… also love the Aberlour 16 and Speyburn 15 and 18

Both of these are absolute buys in my opinion! I just reviewed the Bruichladdich 18 myself and every time I pour another dram I feel like it gets better to me. Great review! Cheers!

Love to see bourbon drinkers that also like Scotch. It shows they have a diverse palate. The Classic Laddie and the DS Tayman Caol Ila Bordeaux edition are my favorite. Both are non chill filtered and non colored just as both of yours are.

You had an identical reaction to the regular 18 that I did. Which makes me think I'll have the same reaction you have to the PC18. Pc10 is already one of my favs.

Thank you so much Dara. I remember you and Bill doing Scotch reviews in the past but it's been way too long. These are 2 bottles that are definitely on my must buy list. I just purchased the latest Offerman edition Lagavulin, which is a rum cask finish. It would make a great followup to this one. Love the videos!

Wow the Port Charlotte 18 sounds fantastic. I already think the 10 year is the best reasonably priced peated Scotch out there but the 18 seems to be next level. And the color! I know its natural color too. $200 is not too much to pay for this bottle.

Awesome review! Just picked up my bottle of PC 18 and can't wait to crack it. PC 10 is also my wife's favorite (right ahead of Lag 16), so I am going to save this one for her upcoming retirement!!!

Great video, Dara! Scotch uses ex bourbon casks and also ex sherry casks which is why Scotch isn’t as punchy on the flavors, more refined 😊🙏🥃The 100% barley malt and it’s magic😁🥃

Being Scottish myself, I have the 10 year of both of these! The higher the peat the better!

How much different is the 18 port charlotte vs the 10 yr

Two great releases, but yikes on the prices. Besides some of the value 18 yrs, something like an AnCnoc 18, an Arran 18 and Loch Lomond 18 all so much cheaper. Pushing towards the Springbank type pricing.

I have to admit that I'm 62 years old and I have never tried a Scotch.... I almost picked up the Port Charlotte 10 my last trip to the store, but picked up a Knob Creek 12 instead.... Hesitant, but curious!

Everyone who loves whisk(e)y should try Scotch. Just make sure that you find one that is not colored and non chill filtered.

I’d start with a unpeated scotch first. Arran 10 is a great start. Then later try a lagavulin 16 maybe at a bar to taste what peat does to a whisky. Scotch is… pure magic. But if you’re coming from bourbon your palate will definitely have to adjust and you might need to give it time and multiple tastings.
