Hi Steve. I know what you mean about taking time to listen. Between work and life I've set RU-vid aside for a bit and filled the void by listening to music. Gotta say I'm loving it. Missed E.M. part 1 so will go off to watch it now. Cheers!
Thanks Steve, This is very much like going to my best friend Steve's place and listening to tunes. He has passed a few years back, but you fill the space he cleared. He turned me on to the Stones, Hendrix and a ton more. He had the vinyl and loved to play guitar. He had the bootlegs and made things way, way cooler. You are there. Your deep dives are just like what he did back in the 80's when we hung out. Peace and Merry Christmas.
sorry to hear about your dear friend loss.....I know that gap it can cause. Glad to hear I can assist and bring it back for you. thanks for sharing!! ER PT2 will be out this week
Many thanks for all your hard work and dedication especially those superb Stones videos. Looking forward to pt2 re Emotional Rescue. Merry Xmas Steve and i wish you a happy and healthy 2023.
Hi Steve!! Great to see you again. I too am VERY much looking forward to the next Stones documentary installment. I know it is a LOT of work, but it is greatly appreciated. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! CC
Good morning Steve. Great to see you back in front of the camera. Boy that Exile boot was a nice snag. I usually grab anything and everything that has to with that album. I have at least three copies of the album including a mint original. It ranks up there as one of my all time favorite albums. Brilliant release. Good to hear that your passion for doing the Stones docs are still strong. No one does it better. I have never seen anything better on the band's career/albums in my humble opinion. You have more facts than facts themselves. That's a fact. I always enjoy them. If I don't talk to you. I wish you and your wife a very Merry Christmas. Catch up with you soon~ Rob/Boston
Hey Rob. yes, that is TAXILE on EXILE boot. thank you for all....! I hope we get to hook up one day! I am still on the lay low, still. So many folks near me getting Covid. thanks for the support as usual! Happy Holidays to you, and hope you treat yourself to goodies!! PT2 coming out this week!
Hello 😀Steve; Some very good vinyl finds. The Dale Hawkins has an all star lineup, with songs by fellow swamper Bobby Charles. Waylon Jennings outlaw country. The Bill Wyman with the attachments is a good find. The Stones Exile outtakes are always worth the price. Take your time with the Emotional Rescue, no stress, no production schedules to meet. Finish the project at your convenance. Take care, 🙆♀Tina & 🙆♂Pat!~
TY!!!!! Forgot to say the name of the Exile outtake albu, TAXILE on EXILE. thanks for all....PT2 is going to be ready this week! cheers Ms T and Mr P!!
Gonna pick up that Dale Hawkins album , some legendary guests in the album also. You sir are a. Bright light in my RU-vid experience. Watched all your stones videos , some I watched twice. I feel I know you as a friend even , though we never met. ,a heartfelt thank you sir.
Great job on getting some culture Steve, I’m sure your wife appreciates it. I did not know you were huge into Waylon. That is a rabbit hole I have not dived into. Lucky you on the hard drive back up. You can tell a super fan when they buy the albums from the session players Recently finished a great biography on Lou Reed that was enlightening. I bought recently the album of his demos before VU. It was interesting but not something I would pull out and play very often. Happy Holidays to you and your family and the cats
Hey Steve....yea, I need her to let me keep the stereo turned up, so need to put on Broadway tunes. We do have fun with them! Yea, the Outlaw Country is bad ass music, and cool and needed. As long as the quality of the VU is good, that is historic music! thanks, and happy holidays to you and yours!! best , my friend!
I have been looking forward to part two. I believe I watched part 1 on the very first day that you released it. I'm very grateful to you and your enthusiasm for the Rolling Stones. I myself these last few months have been doing deep dives into The Cure. Like the Rolling Stones they have a deep archive of music going back a lot further than I originally suspected. I am curious to know your thoughts on The Cure if you have the time to reply to my comment. Anyway I hope this note finds you well and in good spirits. Don
Hey Don....very cool to hear, and glad you are on board with all this! I was a college radio DJ 80-83, and was into all the post punk coming in at that time. Cure was in there. I really like Siouxie and then their early work. I own their vinyl. I stopped after 83, then picked them up in 85-87, and then stopped. I have Disintegration still on my must have list. So my answer is, yes, I like The Cure, and would love to see your doc made on them. I need some deep exposure. I think he is a talent!
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! *Thanks for the update!* I was getting concerned you might be _'losin'-yer-mojo"_ or something. (Keep chooglin'!) *Dale Hawkins!* Like many youngsters my age; I originally thought 'Suzie Q' was a CCR tune. (I didn't listen to 'England's Newest..' or '12x5' when they came out. Just 45's.) I heard the original not long after. *Loved it!* That GREAT '50s Rockabilly guitar! *James Burton!* Part of the 'original-R&R-club' of axe slingers! (Sotty Moore/Cliff Gallup/Ike Turner/Chuck Berry) I checked out *'LA, Memphis & Tyler, Texas'.* It's a real _'genre-bender'!_ _Swamp Music_ indeed! The Ry Cooder stuff! A *sizzling* 'Hound Dog'! On some songs; It sounded like Gram Parsons out of Muscle Shoals! 1969 was such a great time for music! Tarantino showed that in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'. Writers were still basking in the _afterglow_ of Grass 'n Acid. (1970 would bring the scag 'n the downers) I'll start commenting about 'ER' directly in pt. 2. No idea _what_ I'm gonna say. (yet) *Rocks On!* - Dave B.
Yo Steve... Merry Christmas to you and yours Bud. All the best in the new year too..... Dale and Ronnie cousins? I forgot all about that... Yeah I have a dozen or so Waylon albums too. LOL.. I got a funny story about Waylon and my old man. I've told it once or twice... Nice Keith Richards package, mine's missing the poster and sheet... All people remember about Harpo Marx is he didn't talk, played the Harp and chased girls. He was a hellofa Bridge player I'll tell you. Even played on TV with some grand masters on this Bridge program from the States in the mid 50s. I think it was run by Oswald Jacoby, I forget, great show if your a bridge player. A little archaic the bidding systems though. I'm a Canadian Bridge champion from the mid 70s when I played the game so that was the thing that impressed me the most about the man. It takes a real brain to play Bridge at the top level and to be as good as Harpo was he had to have plenty of onions in his head to be that good.... Cheers.
Hey Bobby! Happy holidays and hope you get everything you want! Bridge...champion....and Grand Masters, wow. Nice! Harpo playing also....can you imagine playing with him??? I do watch the Poker on TV. all the best to you my friend...ER PT2 is coming out this week.
Steve I am not sure if you have viewed this Bio of Waylon on you tube. It is Waylon himself narrating his life story from day one. From getting his first guitar to traveling on the road with Buddy Holly and his band to becoming an outlaw with Willie Nelson.
Which Bio is it, I have seen some, but always crave more and better! I do see: Waylon Jennings Autobiography read by Waylon Jennings which is interesting.
@@FlipSideCT Steve that should be the one. Waylon starts out talking about being born in Texas, And while growing up he helped his family bring in money by picking cotton. That should be it. I dont think he would make more than one video of that.
6:14 what's the cover on that one? Also I have a Rolled Gold Japan pressing with the banner, mint. Not on Ebay that you may be interested in. It has six Stones on the cover, I bought it in the late 70's.
lol, I never said the title or showed the front. Taxile on Mainstreet, has one of the Exile postcards on the front. rolled gold is a comp hits album. I do not have it...but I am not big on hits....thank you though!
Great to see you again. Really looking forward to the upcoming doc. Dude, what is that first song playing in your video? It sounds great but I'm not familiar with it or can fully make it out.
