Was new to EVE last year and I remember seeing this on zKillboards as one of the most expensive ships destroyed and people commenting "baited on a free can". Been tuning into your twitch streams ever since.
i was in the fleet that went thru the very FIRST jump bridge throught the very FIRST and at time ONLY titan in the game.... good ole STEVE of ASCN.... i am so honored to be a part of such history in eve... back then we would have never imagine that there would be entire fleets of titans fighting each other.... even so, with so many in the game, its always fun when one goes down :)
James Porter - I still remember the video posted to the forums (RU-vid wasn't really big back then) of the unveiling of Steve! Music was Massive Attack's Teardrop and the cameraman was some guy in a Stabber, I think, flying around it - you got a real sense from that of just how huge it was! First Titan I ever saw on grid was Shrike's Avatar - I remember warping off and feeling relieved I'd escaped being doomsdayed, only to discover a few minutes later it was just lag/desync and I had in fact, along with the whole rest of our fleet, been doomsdayed!
As always, awesome footage of being good FC and a nice battle, even though the target was my coalition. Maybe we'll meet on the battlefield, someday. :P
I have a quick question I was hoping you could help me with. I just got done making a null sec ratting tengu because I was told ratting in null sec can net shit loads of money if you get lucky (with faction spawns). My question is can there be those valuable spawns (faction or otherwise) in low sec or is it mainly null sec? Second quick question, does it have to be -1.0 space or any null sec space? Thanks for your help. :D
Bjorn that was awesome.... u helped other fellow streamers too. Ppl will think a lil more before stream snipping Beyond all that it was just freaking awesome... though i caught up to it late ....
How many did the Titan take down tho ? How can i see and compare the damage done for both sides ? i get that the killboard link show me the Titan. I dont know how to see those the Titan killed.
The Titan only killed me as he wasn't fit for fighting sub-caps. A large defense fleet undocked in retaliation but it was too late to save the Titan. The final numbers were 224.69 billion vs. 28.57 billion ISK damage. You can read about the engagement that followed here: evenews24.com/2016/11/01/geminate-stream-sniping-attempt-leads-to-a-titan-loss-and-a-running-battle-in-bwf-zz/
I used to have the guy on my watch-list back in 2009, when IRC fought RA and XDeath were sort of pretending to be neutral.... was so freaking surprised to see him on grid when we jumped in XD
Lmao insane. What other alliance or fleet was there killing it? The neutrals and orange status. It looked like the erebus had jack shit for fleet backup.
Can anyone explain to me the complete lack of actions by the titan dude following the kill? Why did he not warp out right after? Why did he not attempt to move out of the bubbles? It just seems like it's just hanging there..
M4hB He had owned that Titan for 8-9 years. Just got a lil' careless & he didn't expect logged off sabres in system and a large t3cruiser fleet with dreads on standby. This was a pre-planned/prepped bait run, hoping to catch a Supercarrier, but then this much bigger fish decided to bite :)
We had no idea they'd drop a single titan! Lots of luck to be honest :D The entire story is here: evenews24.com/2016/11/01/geminate-stream-sniping-attempt-leads-to-a-titan-loss-and-a-running-battle-in-bwf-zz/
This particular Titan dropped 45 billion Isk in loot. That's about 4 years of Omega Clone Gameplay. I just kill thing for fun though and the fights I get are to entertain myself and the viewers :)
I am just starting the game and i think my main goal at a start is to make isk but later i wanna get to pvp for sure but atm i dont have no idea what i am doing evreything seems really scary :D
Doomsdays weapon, can only be fitted to titan class ships, and are the most powerful module in the game, at least damagewise, he simply put, got one-shot.
Nope, get up. Join my in-game channel: "The Beehive" and X up around 18:00 Eve time when I do NPSI fleets. This was one of those fleets... with a twist ;)
It's in the description, but here it is anyways: zkillboard.com/kill/56895433/ AND a breakdown of everything: evenews24.com/2016/11/01/geminate-stream-sniping-attempt-leads-to-a-titan-loss-and-a-running-battle-in-bwf-zz/ ps. Both these links were very easy to find right here, one of them in the description of the vid, the other in the comment section.
Awesome video, but the zkill link is blocked in my location :/Not trying to be critical because I love your content, but I was pretty disappointed you didn't include the killmail in the video.
FC's call things multiple times to make sure that people know what they are doing and to try and prevent people from doing the wrong things or making mistakes.
This is the same in ANY game with comms. Hell, this is why even in the military, and over police radio, they repeat things multiple times. Especially when you are dealing with 5-100 people (at least lol) you'll probably have at least 10-20 say "WHAT?!" if you don't repeat things. This is the same in every other competitive game I've ever played, as well as other mmorpgs during Raids.
John Bugg-Millar it's the mark of a good Fleet Commander. Communications can be misheard, misinterpreted, etc. You see similar repeat orders in the military for the same reason (eg. "Go, go, go, go!")
That's because he's a good Fleet Commander. As others have stated, during the fight, communication is jumbled. Connection speed, misheard order, misinterpreted, or even "PVP shakes." OH SHIT! My adrenaline is through the roof, I can't concentrate (which happens to even Bjorn which is why he still loves PVP.) With ALL of those factors, repeating yourself is honestly, the mark of a good FC. It's your duty to flood the coms with your voice so even the most doped up player (literally...with dopamine) can at least get ONE of those 10 commands that his/her brain will finally register and thus doing what he/she is supposed to.
i dont get the point of pvp in games that take years to archive something awesome... and then it gets blown up in just under 10minutes.... stupid game and a huge waste of time.
Yeah, Eve's not for everyone. The thing is though: Once you get into a game where dying actually matters, where the risk of losing something hits you with adrenaline and you literally get PvP Shakes, then other games where dying only punishes you with a lil' re-spawn timer become a bit boring and just kind of "meh". Don't get me wrong, I play a TON of other games and they're fun, but once you get into Eve... there's just nothing out there that compares.
Completely true. I've been playing Eve since 2005. took a couple a years off in the process. But I always come back because there is no other game out there that gets your heart pumping in the exact same way.
the correct answer is. EVE is to good for some people.... It is the most in depth complicated thought provoking game in history and has only been dumb down a couple times for those without the learning curve. Every corner of this game is scamms and piracy... Even in your own corps. Much like real space combat if we ever make it that far.
P.S. the titan takes enormous resources to build. on top of that almost a couple months to make. The real dedication is the years of skill training needed to pilot it. That is never lost. There are plenty of other ships to have fun with also.
