1894 - The Year of the Broken Trinity (Trench Crusade Lore) 

So, we are somewhat past the point of official lore at this point, and I shall be doing a lot of filling in the blanks with things i have written myself. According Tuomas, they will not be going what the idea of a 100% reliable narrator for the game, different people will have different version of events, and stories will change as they travel around the planet. This means we can have a lot of fun with writing stuff ourselves, but I don't want to mess around too much. I'll pick big story beats in the games history, and just build on those, or tell smaller scale stories that contain characters of my own making.

This lore is so damn fascinating i feel like this world would look amazing as an iron harvest style RTS game.

Kinda hoping for lore on the big players in Hell and of the Lord too. I'm not a demonologist so a lot of these names don't hold much significance outside of this and the setting of Hellboy.

So Cane actually pulled a Blood eagle on the Pontiff, now that brings some questions about the world of Trench crusade, with teutonic order chest deep in the on going war on Lavant did they actually manage to christianize Baltics or thos people remained pagan in this timeline, same goes for Danes, one of the reasons Danish converted was to get the constant pestering mini crusades of the German princes off their own back and that basically turned into a domino effect northward into Scandinavia, i don't think HRE in this timeline has the resources to enforce such obligations, and same goes for the Iberian peninsula, without resources to spare on oversea voyages, what happened to the age of discovery and the conquest of the new world? How does Africa, India or east asia portrayed in this timeline, are the forces of hell only concentrating on uprooting the Abrahamic religions, no eastward or southward expansions??? Are any of these questions addressed in the lore yet???

trench crusade has made me finally see the appeal of grimdark. in the same way that tragedy is to sorrow, grimdark is to dread

Imagine a figho between one of this guys and a member of the hasshanshi, the assassin's that serve the old man in the mountain and the sultanate; imagine just how a fight like that would look like

If there's any lore I'm really interested in what's happening in Asia and Americas? Did they even discover it?

There's a smoldering lore problem here with the weapon that sends you to Hell no matter what, the damned children, the cloak against omniscience, the vow ensuring damnation if you don't die in combat, (etc.). Everything in the mythology is now real - except God. I get that He needs to be remote and slow to give Hell its moment in the sun, but He's got tied hands, blind spots and basically stats now. That's not the God I disbelieve in, and I wanted a setting that finally tackles the full mythology, that makes everything else look like Little Nicky. If it was the Church saying all this dumb stuff (like the 3 or 4 nails debate), and the lore is told through that smudged lens, it's passable. Maybe TC will find its footing and stance going forward - Lord knows WH40k flailed and found itself in the beginning. But the God I disbelieve in isn't going to miss a sinner because he got a heart transplant from a good person.
