Glad to hear you are giving wise advice when it comes to superchargers. We all want to push our blower to maximum output with the largest crank pulley and the smallest charger pulley right out the gate. Foolish. Great advice, start off on low boost and gradually increase over little by little.
Love the info bro, keep them coming, this will make it easier when time comes. Very clean setup too bro love it..also watched your video with Alex MK7 bro nice!
@@CGNLEvolved ye bro I see that also watch this video when you get a chance, these car have great potential, healthy platform bro, sky is the limit, I'm excited for my car and all who have 9th gens? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-72lkhDYB2Pk.html
@@CGNLEvolved good point, hoping to see a follow up video, they said in the video they were gonna have some pulls, but didnt lame lol, but the car is very impressive tho, very nice platform ro build good power!
I own a 2009 Acura TSX and I think I'm gonna go with the 1320 simply because I have the 5 speed auto and don't wanna push it past 320whp. But damn your set-up is sick, not usually a fan of civics but yours rips 😂
@@CGNLEvolved I'm gonna buy the air to water kit with the aftercooler ready manifold, but at first I'll block it off. Then maybe later down the road if I want more power I'll get the aftercooler kit too haha
@@Tanner_Teves gotcha. Yea, I think a customer of MercRacing did some testing with the 1320 and they said that the cooler is not required unless you going all out or in super hot climate. It's always good to have tho.
@@CGNLEvolved Yeah I emailed Merc directly and they said I wouldn't need cooling for anything past 350 with the 1320 but I'll get the water ready manifold just in case I do wanna push it haha
On the fence for when I eventually boost my K24 (3 lobe) swapped 8th gen... Turbo quiets exhaust, which is a huge, efficient power, no parasitic loss, higher peak power, but it does have boost lag... The K24 already gives great power downlow so I feel like lag might not be as big of an issue as with a K20. Supercharger is instant power that scales evenly and predictably throughout the powerband but the exhaust is friggin loud with a SC!! The K24 already has so much torque, almost feel like it would be too much lmao... This is my Dilemna TLDR: Stututu + Quiet Exhaust + Lag ===Vs.=== Cool Whine + LOUD EXHAUST + INSTANT POWA
@@CGNLEvolved super tough decision, they both have their pros and cons! Instant Power deliver is rad though, and the whine is definitely unique and different! How is your K24 SC down low? I hear some people have so much torque that their car jumps to the next lane lmao... Granted I have my suspension sorted out better than most, tons of mods to do that! I guess you could do boost by gear?
@@dangusprime from all the roll races I’ve done, i immediately jump ahead on turbo’d cars. If you watch some of my older race videos you’ll see what u mean
@@CGNLEvolved Yeah man! TongMan videos too. I have seen a bunch of videos of SC vs Turbo and the SC always wins, I was thinking it all day yesterday at work lmao, and TBH I think that powerband as well as just the instant power for handling sounds great... The main thing I dont like is with the SC the car gets insanely loud
This was a kit they created for my setup. I'm pretty sure they can replicate it and sell it. I went with higher quality and it wasn't cheap. I think most fuel system setups are custom now. PRL doesn't make their kit anymore.
Glad I came across this video. Got my answer in 5 seconds lol. Getting a 1900 kit for BF and the wait will kill me. Does the kit come with a their fuel rail?
Great video brother. I appreciate all the info you give us. What's your thought on the 1900 on the 8th gen stock motor(k20z3). Been messaging Jose for the last 6 months and haven't got a answer yet .
Thanks man! I'm not too familiar with the k20s, but Johny Tank (check out his page and give him a shout) is probably way into the 500whp/upper 300wtq on his setup. That being said, I would at a minimum go with a 1900; possibly a 2300. How have you been trying to contact Jose?
@@CGNLEvolved thanks for the reply and your time . Yes sir I hit up jose a number of times and never got a reply back for the past 6 months. I been ready to pull the trigger on that supercharger just wanted something that will leave me room for gains in the future
@@juniord1309 I talked to him this morning and gave him a heads up......... send him an email: jmercado@mercracing.net He'll be waiting for your email.
Also, what parts do I need to get before I buy the super charger kit (if any) I just purchased my KTuner. Was wondering if there are any necessary parts that don’t come with the kit that I will need. Also will I need to trailer it to get it Dyno or can my KTuner get me to the PRO tuners?
I think the rsx-s thermostat. It's listed on their site when you plan to purchase them. As for Ktuner, I would suggest going with a Hondata. I've heard that Ktuner doesn't have much features for boost for our particular vehicle. Other parts are your typical, clutch, injectors, fuel pump, etc.
what would you say if my end goal is 350whp max? It's my daily driver and I dont wanna have a super aggressive clutch. I'll be running the aftercooler kit on 92oct
Can’t go wrong with either as they both can hit those numbers. Imo, I’d go 1900 because it’ll spin less to achieve that power and you have the flexibility to go higher. 1320 you’re almost maxed
Yes, it should. As long as the motor is in good shape. I'm on the 1900 blower on stock motor and have experienced no issues. Only reason I upgraded my transmission because after 400whp, these gears tend to break.
Crazy question would this setup work on a 2011 crv I haven’t seen any forums with information but it’s a k24z engine it comes stock with 180hp and 161flbs of torque
I'm planning on upgrading to a 2300. There hasn't been a k series that's done a 2300 as of yet. There's an NSX with a K swap that's putting one on currently tho.
@@HorizonDrifterDj No...... this is something I talked with MercRacing about. The low end tq will destroy the rods. My tuner has even pulled back the power on the lower rpms to prevent my rods from bending.
