In my opinion, Anna, Robert, and Matthew have the best reactions. Anna's so cute and excited for her. Robert has no idea what's going on. And Matthew is so proud that times are changing!

Catherine Lee Cora looks fairly surprised but not displeased...I really love Mary and Violet’s reactions. CLEARLY NOT PLEASED 😂😂😂 I do wish they’d showed Edith’s too (probably jealousy at the attention Sybil attracted)😂

I remember watching this for the first time and being absolutely stunned Sybil had the audacity to wear pants to dinner. And then I remembered that I live in modern times and shouldn’t be shocked. That’s how good this show is-I thought I lived in the 1920s!

I stopped watching DA for at least a season after Fellows killed off Sybil, she was my favorite of all the younger women at the time. I eventually got back into watching when Rose came on the scene. Maybe I saw a little bit of Sybil's rebel in her.

If I remember correctly she was the first in the show to be wearing that acessories on the forehead, later on, I think after her death, you start seeing Mary and Edith and the other female characters wearing some sort of jewelry on their forehead too.

I was tempted to buy one of those beads fabric at store and the manager said, “you might not want to sit long time in the dress.” so I guess they are only for dance parties, no dinner no lunch, and never at weddings :D ?.

What are you talking about? Couture brands still sell similar clothing. But just like in 1920, they are only for the rich. The poor wore rags, the same way people wear Primark now.

I mean why would they be revolted when most of the most riddiculous fashion trends were started by the nobility? Putting taxidermy bird in your head? Wearing cages under your skirt? It's about time someone think of wearing pants lol

Actually the cages under the skirt was better than what they used before, they used to wear several layers of really heavy petticoats that at sone point made them exhausted and uncomfortable, the crinoline (a.k.a the cage under the skirt) was created so they can achieve that so desired figure back then but with no petticoat whatsoever, so they can be more comfortable wearing the fashion they desire. And about the pants, considering that women before wore something resembling pants during victorian era (bloomers) for a few years, and received a huge backlash for it, yeah, it's quite normal that this scene is shocking to that extent, i mean, at that time we're still a few decades behind of the normalization of woman wearing pants
