@@McLarenMercedes it's a tricky one as no one is still quite sure what happened it is supposed that one of the rear wheels collapsed . However he was nearly decapitated by the accident ,and it was said at the time a chain broke on recovery both chains were intact , there was and still is the possibility that an item.of clothing got caught as there were only minimal fairings . Either way chain drive is lethal and no one knows what caused Babs to crash but point taken .

Love seeing the valve train in action while hearing the exhaust when idling. Just amazing that this car still exists and runs so strong at such a low RPM.

that learning curve, where there was nothing. Amazing time to live in. I had found a boat from 1941, they kept the original engine as it never failed. it moves 200 tons at 300 rpm.. 12 knots. ..for 80 years and counting. LoL

I like this channel because you're a curator of automotive history. The other people who have these machines hoard them, but you let the world experience history. Thanks

I would love to work at Jay's garage. Jay is a wonderful person with vast automotive knowledge. And to work with the fabricators, tech's and mechanics he has working for him. The amount of knowledge I could absorb just from watching and helping them. And that's not even mentioning all the different vehicles to learn about. It's a dream that unfortunately will never come true. I'll just keep watching and tinkering with my vehicles

speaking of chains , compare to an inline four , your FB engine is twice as likely to break a distribution chain .

I've been watching Jay's videos for about as long as he's been posting them. As far as bringing automotive history to life, nobody even comes close. He doesn't just show off the cars, he explains the time period, the human intention behind their design and so much more. What he offers here is pure gold for us gear heads, and you can't find it anywhere else. As such, it saddens me to see trolls and political arguments popping up in the comments. To me it's like a monument getting covered in graffiti. Is it too much to ask, for people to appreciate excellence?
