It's now 97 years old and its owner is 91 years old. In this story from the RIDE-CT archives, Anthony Fusco of Watertown, CT recalls getting his 1926 Ford Model T in 1950 for $15. Yes, it's still on the road.

Great video! What a fantastic story! 👏👏👏 With so many commands and their difficulty, it's no wonder the owner is doing so well at his age! 😅 What a difference from today's cars that "drive themselves"! 😅🤦🤦🤦🤦 Beautiful specimen! 😍😍😍 What a shame that the son prefers others! I would love to inherit one of these!

I want the model T. People are always into speed when really its the journey soaking in the slowness. I wouldnt mind coasting around in this on a saturday night to a cafe or restaurant. In no hurry just taking my time

I remember Tony from the Roaring 20's Antique Car Club. He is such a gentleman ... and his car fits him perfectly. Thanks for posting this video! Merry Christmas Tony!!

A Model T in every garage? Not a bad idea.

It's great to see Tony and his Model T! I too know him from the Roaring 20's car club! We had lots of fun with the old cars! Still do, with my 1929 Model A Ford Phaeton!! Best wishes to Tony! Happy New year!!

I noticed it was a tight fit height wise in the garage. I have a 23 Ford Touring car and only last year determined it fit in the garage with the top up. I was always afraid of wrecking it so I took the top down for the first 35 years I owned the car! I like the 26 runabout it is very nice in fact before I got mine I looked at one very much like this guys. He should keep it but if selling it the 8K offer isn't off base. They haven't appreciated that much over the years but they are a blast to drive. When you are learning though you want plenty of room in front of you because the controls are not like you are used to. The clutch engages first gear when depressed which is disconcerting if you know how to drive manuals. Also the throttle has to be manually returned to idle unlike an accelerator pedal.

My father, who just died a couple months ago at almost age 94 learned how to drive on a Model T. It was his uncle's. His step father also had one and he told me the brakes on the Model T's were so bad that sometimes his step father would stop the car by actually hitting the house! LOL

I have a 1927 model t Dr coupe. I rebuilt the engine and it runs really good now. I have only driven around the yard a couple of times and want to take it on the road but I am afraid to get in traffic and have a wreck and mess it up. The traffic around here is going so fast someone may be texting on there phone and run over me. I had a 27 roadster like yours and sold it for 10k. So hold to your price if you have not sold it.

I certainly understand your caution regarding taking it out on the road.

Imagine how I feel. I admit to sometimes overdoing it. This story was from the archives. I've tried to "tone it down" since then. Thanks for the feedback.

Classic cars were really cheap even in 1969. A friend bought a Model A in running condition for 20 dollars.
