Wow! She's a real beauty. Mine still sits in garage have never run in the 40 years I have had it. Thanks for sharing. This brings back so many memories of my restore project from high school. LOL - cardboard on floor of garage. Mine too.

Awesome car and video, Jim. I performed a complete restoration on my 1931 2 Dr. Coach, including all of the internal wood body components, minus the doors, which are still in good condition. It’s the same color as yours, has a

What a lovely car! I have a four door deluxe model of the same year which is entirely original, it even had original wiring when I purchased the car! It’s nice to see someone else who believes in keeping it original. Nice work 👍

My very first car was EXACTLY the same model. I bought it in 1980. It was completely original in running condition. Daily use, as it use to be in Uruguay, where cars had to last many years.

This was an extremely well done and informative RU-vid video. The vehicle is beautiful and you have done a magnificent job with the restoration. We would like to see a video sequel when you decide what you are going to do with the seat upholstery and the headliner. I remember seeing this vehicle in your garage a couple years ago when we visited you in 2016. You have certainly come a long way since then. Great job on everything, Jim and Norma. We are looking forward to more videos. I can think of one: How about driving it out to the countryside and having a picnic. You could even dress in period outfits. Consider having John and Diana join you with their classic 1949 Meteor. Two thumbs up!

my grandpa bought 1931 in 1938 and he drove it until 1984 when something in the engine happened and he couldn't get the parts for it or get it running for some reason me and the other grand kids used to play driving in it he kept it unrunning until 2007 when he got sick and needed money for medical bills to a guy that strip it for a drag car and recked it on the track I so wish I could have got my hands on it first.

Had a 31 sport coupe. Had to replace half of the wood. Too much work. Sold car as wasn’t a car to drive any long distances 😩

I've been looking for some for years. I'm thinking about getting one as a first car. Just wondering where the best place would be to buy them.

What a great car! After owning a 31, and I'm sure learning lots about these cars, would this be your first choice for year and style of car? What advice would you have for someone looking for a Chevrolet from this era?

I am looking to possibly buy a 31 roadster made in Canada and restored in 1980 Any info on what to look for as potential problems I did see in a video that there were a few puffs of smoke from the exhaust Thanks

Don't you first have to turn the gas switch on under the seat to start it?
@jimdouglas9450
@jimdouglas9450 2 года назад
No. The 1931 did not have a gas switch. Regarding seats, this is a Canadian model which may therefore differ to the U.S. version.
