My Model A was bought from a gentleman in New York. Because of that a previous owner sometime in the past actually welded a blower motor to the front of the waffle manifold Autolite heater. Here is a closer look at it after I cleaned it all up.

Love the Simplicity of these early cars you fix them yourself most Model A parts are still available reproductions but good quality, modern cars are a throw away item after it has done its deed, you are Not meant to fix them but human nature being what it we try to!

I really do daily drive my Model A here in Ohio until they put salt on the roads. I just drove her to work this week when it was 19 degrees outside, I was comfy in the heated cabin. Thanks for watching, make sure to subscribe to our channel!

Forget any electric fan. I made a much bigger tin intake, up close to the real fan, far more hot air into the car, this keeps all windows free of frost, the car warmer and needs to be, the Model A has no seals, it can be twenty below here in MN, mine woks pretty well, no holes in the dash, no wires. I'm 90, drove A's since 1948, been there and back.

I can understand you explaining the system you use and prefer, but why criticize this guys vid of a very old farmers mod which he has beautifully restored and perfectly displayed for us to see? Find a rock. Crawl under it. 90 years ago when said farmer made this happen, no one before you thought of the "off the fan system" that you lay claim to either. (or are you going to embarrass yourself further by pretending you engineered it?)

@@1stGregA You're very rude to that gentleman. He's 90 years old and clearly has a different dialog from years back. Had he said it in person it wouldn't have sounded as gruff. As well, when people approach roughly 70 years old, they start shortening they're sentences because they no longer have the energy or dexterity for rapid-fire conversations that we have when we're young.

Here in Canada, a warm firewall is just not enough; this mod is great. Thank you.

It certainly helps down here in Ohio! I drove her to work this morning and it was 19 degrees Fahrenheit.

Nem is gondoltam, így működött a fűtés. Mennyire volt hatékony ? Igaz gyorsabban melegedett mint a folyadék fűtés. Európába ismeret megoldás. Köszönöm a bemutatását.

Ted, It works amazing. I just drove the Model A to work this morning and it was 31 degrees out, but inside the cabin it was nice and toasty.

I just found a Model A for sale that needs work that has this system, but it has a sort of radiator unit mounted on firewall inside by passengers feet. The manifold system looks like this one except it has no blower in the engine bay. I've just now began to find out what this unit was and suspected a heater, you confirm this. Thanks

I had manifold heaters in our T's. They work fantastic and are a worthwhile investment if you live in a cold climate.

That is very swift! It would look so cool with a vintage, low profile air cleaner attached straight to the blower motor.

The one problem with that system is getting an exhaust leak where that exhaust can be pushed into the cabin. Monoxide is a deadly poison and can kill if exposed to it long enough. Many people died from leaks in the exhaust being drawn into the cabin.

Anyone know what the tubing is going from manifold to firewall? What is its purpose? Thanks and good video 😎🇺🇸
@JWilliams81
@JWilliams81 6 месяцев назад
That is the vacuum line. It's only purpose is the run the vacuum wiper that was stock the year this car was made. The lines runs inside to the cab, then up the front A-pillar behind the upholstery, then along the header of the windshield, before connecting to the vacuum motor on the interior of the car. @@JWilliams81 well ty very much. The car is finished top to bottom. It is very well documented and featured in a snap on calendar. Unfortunately I acquired it from a friend of my fathers who passed and his kids wanted nothing to do with it. Truly blessed to own this piece of history. 👍🏼

Fred, yep it is all still 6 volts still. I am running the stock 6V generator as well. Even with the lights on the system isn't stressed.

Any chance the blower has a part number on it? I have not been able to locate anything similar. How about the switch? Very cool. Regards.
@JWilliams81
@JWilliams81 2 года назад
I am not sure where the blower came from. The switch is any normal A/C & Heater Blower Motor Switch. Switch like: www.napaonline.com/en/p/ECHHC6144?r-src=SSE:PDP&ppid=ECH_HC6332&ir=1&tps=1
