This selection of 1934 recordings by the biggest name on British radio of that time include a guest appearance by Lupino Lane, probably now best remembered as the performer who introduced "The Lambeth Walk" to audiences. On that same recording session, June, a famous stage and screen actress sang a lovely number from the pen of Eddie Pola. She appeared on Henry Hall's very first "Guest Night", which was to become a radio institution. The other songs are sung by the band's vocalist Les Allen who was to leave the BBC Dance Orchestra just weeks after recording "Love In Bloom". The final number was Henry Hall's biggest hit as a songwriter and a perfect end to this selection of his recordings.
Note: Henry Hall was born in 1898 not 1899 as the contemporary article claims!
