This 1940 Plymouth Mantel clock was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. I think it was one of their cheaper clocks perhaps, is why they didn't use their name. Just the same, it is still a nice clock. This movement looked like it had Gild on it, (Kind of like a gold spray paint look), I cleaned it off and used a brass polish and waxed the frame.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not sucuring the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challange of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
