I had the privilege to go out with phill Nash of ‎@grumpystruckshop3807 in the last ride of his 1941 diamond t before it went to a new home! what a fantastic truck. I, for one, was sad to see it go as it was always at the entrance of the yard! #1941 #diamond #diamondt #tanktransporter #worldwar2

My father had to unload a diamond t wrecker from a ship in Port Moresby it was the last truck out because it weighed 10 ton they said to use the 2 cranes on the ship but they took all the gmc 6 x6 trucks with one so the truck went to the top of boom and fire came from cable and the truck went back to the bottom of ship and then the crew got the captain and he said I dodge Japanese subs to get here and you smash up the equipment before its used leave it there we will take it back to the states

That's a fantastic story. They really do weigh a lot! I think they could pull in excess of 100 tonne. But they're flat out at about 28mph.

This was sat in the yard for years! it was done up and was sold as a part of an exchange for a modern oshkosh to crouch recovery.
