What a beauty! Well done! One of only several ways of what a pan should look like. I sold my 54 many yrs ago over a divorce and won’t have another pan because of it, it was a similar tale of slowly building my dream bike. I moved to shovels and have built several now from junkers. I miss the pan but it reminds me of how another person can steal your dreams if you let them. Building over time is so rewarding in the end and gives one a sense of accomplishment with every part fitted. Congrats!

"Built to ride". How proper! I too was a little surprised to see an HD on the Mighty Garage. It's a good one. I thought to myself, those look like bicycle goosenecks! And they are! I noticed the Thrasher posters in his garage. Then I saw the skateboard wheel on the shifter. Genius! Well done, Pod, and well done, Mike! Thanks for the Sunday morning inspiration.

Pod’s build is just 10 years newer than my father’s build, a 1940 Indian Scout utilizing a Chief crank taking it to 56 cu. in. Pods’ jockey shift is a great period mod. Mike your “New” Tales from the cul de sac format is terrific!!! It is the highlight of my Sunday morning…willymakit 😅

Awsome bike and Pod is a great guy. Rode with him a few times. You can see the amount of love he put into the build. The smile on his face as rides it tells it all. Cheers Tim from Bend, Or.

Always enjoy my first look on youtube, Sunday mornings! What a gorgeous bike, nice and clean, simple. The 49 pan has a beautiful sound to go with the look. Nice to see a Harley in the cul-de-sac. Enjoy your morning ride!

Great work. You have a peanut tank. Love the bike. Great job Mike … complete with a bonus blooper reel. Watch to the end of kids watch to the end. 😂

@Wedge-r9o День назад
@@kurtfoulke5130 my bad Kurt. Your tank holds as much as my peanut tank did… I should have said. After only 85 miles or so I started looking for a gas station. ⛽️ With a small tank I quickly learned that my kick start only bike was a lot easier to ride than it was to push. Thanks again for sharing your Panhead Bobber.

more like peter fonda's 'wild angel' bike than his 'easy rider' one. super nice. never heard the word 'bobber' since well into the 70s. in the 60s, that was definitely a 'chopper'.

Ratchet shift? I had opposite..so if you got in a jam..just tap it..bam your in nneutral..it had what you call ffalse neutral..pass thru neutral ever time you shift..and of course..every gear..meant you stick was in different position..forgot proper name for that set up...bike was a 56/66..pan...shovel..ran ok..4 gears..and 100 tops..but frame and forks..we're not so good had a hammer frame..forks can't remember who made them..but wheel base was 10 feet Axel to Axel center..this was 83..to 85..so 40 years..front end was made by well known builder..I didn't build it..and never would have it was a trade..my first Harley..and first build was a 49..FL..49 tranny..to long story to go into detail..but ended up in a 57 straight leg..with no rake 4 over wide glide..no front brake21..straight lace wheel ..bake was stock 49..star drum brake..shifting thru a nose trap..3.5 GA..mustang tank..I was 21..when I got it as a basket..engine was complete.tranny to..and a junk ass jammer frame..took almost 2 years ..but it was beautiful and it my first attempt to build a chopper..and I wish I had never let it go! Your build is also beatiful!
