Historical trivia i didn't know until recently: ice cream bars became a huge thing as a response to the lack of normal bars during the prohibition era.
His anachronisms are for comedy but dude. First Vietnam lottery was 1969. By that time this dude would be in his 30's with a wife, a dog and 2.7 kids. He'd be looking at hippies wondering what was wrong with kids these days.
@@RayNumber2 Have you ever made something an idol, used God’s name as a cuss word, disobey your parents, murder (God views hate as murder), lusting, stealing, lying, wanting something another has that isn’t rightfully yours? Doing so we violating the law, which is sin, and because of sin there is a punishment…If a serial killer like Ted Bundy tells a judge of all the good things he’s done for society do you think the judge would let the serial killer off free? The same is with us; we’ve committed such crimes against God that we are separated from God forever; we are punished by suffering Hell for eternity, a place with no hope for us. But God loves us so much and with all his heart that he gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, to this cursed world to be crucified on the cross. (John 3:16-17) Now anyone who accepts Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as their Lord and Savior and believes he rose from the dead the third day will be saved from eternal damnation in Hell and live in Heaven in paradise with him forever. Many will choose to follow Satan, whether it be because they think they won’t succeed otherwise or won’t have any joy or friendships, but he will soon reveal himself as a murderer and a liar as he was since the beginning and he will curse all his followers as he cursed God and all of Satan’s followers will be cased into ever burning Hell. Don’t believe this lie I too believed in! Our God is a loving God full of compassion, yet he is a righteous God with righteous judgment. (Matthew 13:41-42)

@@AFanOfCinemaI dunno, I think we need a resurgence of 1950s style diners too. Other than the whole “not serving one type of person” obviously. Also the prices being that low would be nice too 😛
Bit of a stretch using “reality.” Funny how people, who never lived during the 50s declare it as the worst, yet those, who actually did live during the 50s (even blacks), said it was the best.
@@toffeenut1336Exactly. Literal videos of life in the 50s yet people say they’re fake or just brush them aside. Of course those same people are subverted to begin with so there’s that. If you know what I mean then you know.
That’s literally all people think of when they think of the 20th century. Their minds have been wired and programmed to think of everyone who isn’t white as god. Sure, racism is awful, no one should be shunned because of their culture or the color of their skin. But the jokes get old, fast.
I've never met anyone named "Bud" in the current day and age, though... Was it short for something or just a name that isn't popular anymore? Does this mean "Bud Light" beer is called what it's called becuase that was the creator's name?
That'd be the equivalent of $1258 dollars in 1950, which would buy you 1,090,480 Coca-Cola beverages, which have a value of about $3,260,535.20 today, assuming both are 12oz cans.
@psychopompous489 nah my grandpa grew up in this Era, they'd make enough to buy a car in a month because everything was dirt cheap. A teenager eith a steady job could do a lot, even if they were only making a couple bucks a day. The minimum wage was like 75 cents an hour. But you could get a movie ticket for a nickel, a meal for 50 cents, a tank of gas for a dollar or two. Do all of that and still have half your days pay to save.
@@deltazero7012 cars were cheaper but the rate of everything is still almost identical. Cars have gotten more expensive tho so i guess maybe if you bought a shitbox u could afford it.
That waiter had a 4 bedroom house with 3 acres and supported a family of 5. The home was purchased for $21,000. He also had a substantial savings. Today his property is worth 2.7m
Yup. His property isn't his anymore the government took it bc his grandchildren working at the same diner couldn't even afford 1/4 of the taxes for that property now with their wage. Sold it by parents split used to buy houses. The grandkids then are left apartment living or 40 year old virgin living at home in today's world
@@flintlol5166 obviously you can't comprehend anything from all the brain washing that things are 10 times more expensive yet wages have only went up 1.5 times the amount they were 20 years ago. Land here is 10k an acre where it was only 1k same area 20 years ago. Yet the same job I had 20 years ago doesn't pay 10 times the money. It knly pays 1.5 times more. You are getting screwed 8.5 times over what ppl were 20 years ago and you defend the shit. Pure washing of your medula
From the stories I heard of 50s diner I doubt this place would be a buffer from an abusive father. My elder relatives who were kids in this era always said the diners, especially in the city got violent when high school class was dismissed for the day. Usually brawls would break out, gangs were formed in places like this. Also the spot was used for high schoolers to get laid. In bars like this there wasn’t racial segregation, I was told it rarely got violent between races. Mostly because bets were put on the high schoolers fighting each other when one broke out for reasons never specific and that entertainment was more a distraction from the racial differences.
Bro was making the equivalent of $26 an hour, combined with college being $2k ($26k today) and a house being $4k (52k today), kid could raise a family on that salary
@@nikosze2825 that's the price of a home in the 50s, $4000 which would be $52k today. Houses today are massively over-inflated in price, rarely going below $500k
@@Elohim100 bro are we really out here saying that smoking doesnt damage your lungs? sure there are smokers who live a long time but those are the exception, not the rule. thousands of tests and even autopsies of smokers show that (who knew) ingesting carcinogens and smoke directly into your lungs is insanely bad for you. people like you are the reason why people are getting measles again. think you know so damn much but in reality youre too stupid and egotistical to admit you don't know everything so when someone lies to you in a way that you understand you just take that at face value because of course "the reasoning i understand must be the one that is true, right?"
Peggy Meninger too, I can picture her perfectly in my head with her short hair curled inwards, long plaid plated skirt, high white socks, black and white sneakers and a sweater 😂😂
