Picking up 2 vintage flathead powered dragsters from the late Paul Aldrich Collection. We will be getting these old racers up and running and ready for Northeast Vintage Drags 24 Memorial Day Weekend May 24-25-26
It is great to see these vintage dragsters come out of the garage and get a chance to show their stuff. Looking forward to updates. For future reference, loading on the open trailer you can put a floor jack under the tongue of the trailer to lessen the hump between the trailer and the ramps. We ran stock cars for 20 years with a trailer like that and it really helped get those low slung cars loaded without any snags. Good luck, can’t wait to hear them rumble.
First thought is "WOW". Love seeing vintage stuff being brought back to life. Then 'damn' there you go putting ideas in my head, last thing I need is another project .... but I want one lol
one of my favorite things about old race cars of any kind, hot rods, is how they were built before there was a formula and style everyone aped. wicked n.e. history guys.
It is good to see this history brought to light. Paul had an acute passion and skill for doing just that. He was a true talent, a wealth of knowledge, and a good friend.
Good job on the rescue look forward to seeing them run, I love the music you seem to find and out on your tube I am looking forward to watching the drag meet, Cheers all from oz 👍👍
Thanks so much ! I spend a lot of time searching for good music. It’s hard even with paid subscriptions to several sites. But I do appreciate you saying that. Means a lot. Nice to know my time is well spent and appreciated. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. The black dragster is torn down and parts are ordered (I talked to Pete earlier). I’m hoping to drive to his place this week and film a bit to update everyone. Cheers !
First of all condolences to Paul Aldridge family and friends. Also to the tornados and the hot rod community. This was so cool Mike, you never disappoint. Keep it up. Take care and all the very best wishes.
Thank you 🙏🏼. I appreciate the kind words. I’ll be doing some additional videos of the cars with some old footage of Paul talking about them To be continued !
@ThisOldHotrod ya no doubt my brother was a hot rod guy , he passed in 99, it's tough to get the cars back out there but I know what he would want me to do , so hats of to you Mike 👍
Great video Mike .I loved to see all the cool old engineering that went into that old stuff. I finally chopped my 31 ford sedan, started welding it back together now. We need more videos man.
These are only two or 3 of the incredible cars in the garage. So much history in his shop, in containers/ truck bodies and at his personal home. Breathtaking speed parts, extremely rare parts and early prototypes. He was a life long hotrodder and hotrod historian for the past 30-40 years.
one tends to think this stuff is all gone but with every hoard Iron Trap pulls out Im just whoa ... yea a lifetime of collecting one piece at a time can add up to something amazing Sorry for the loss of your friend Mike @@ThisOldHotrod Im 57 with a strong automotive back ground but knew nothing about any of the flat heads .... you guys are teaching an old dog alot of new tricks
