Aaron Wolff Agreed, it was unusual for the 1950s, to end on a question. I really couldn't tell which guy was gonna drop the science on women, until 5:20 - 5:30, with the boss saying "You didn't have the production output you've got now, either." That was a pretty awesome little take-down, for something you'd see on the job in the 1950s. Also, I kinda wanna bang all these 50s women.
ah yes, the ever so shifty homosexual, congregating in the dark and smoky clubs equipped with the infamous and scandaloys "glory holes". a travesty, to be sure.
+Larry Roy Well, you could always just go to your hug box with your crayons, colouring books and teddy bears... you know, just in case other people with their own way of thinking gets to much to handle.
OML IKR!! THERE WAS A LITERAL COMMENT THAT SAID WOMEN DONT DESERVE TO DO ANYTHING EXCEPT COOKING AND CLEANING. Fucked up ppl these days, wish they died a horrible death and got sent to hell.
Ofcourse women should work, no matter what proffession/job. Why should only men work? now that doesnt sound fair either. Women can work just aswell as men and should. Its the time of workaholics, we need every hand we can get no matter gender :p thats just silly. Same pay for same job, gender has nothing to do with it, humans needs to use all resources available. Its stupid not too
If you need to earn more money than your gf for her to accept you then I think something is wrong there already (with society or whatever), also finally maybe everything wont have to depend on your paycheck in a relationship anymore, cause that was already alot of pressure before. This is a good thing Jlafluer :D embrace it!
I'm pretty surprised, actually. The intended message is not bad at all; the guy who's being all sexist is presented as being the one who's fucked up and wrong.
+Aragorn Stellar his whole argument is that he refused to have a women work for him even though she met more of the qualifications then any man who applied
But he is not wrong though. Now, in the future, we know the risks of hiring women. Those were the days we started screwing up! I think society should revert to that state.
Kiki Zeki, are you serious? Are you trying to say these fake, sexist stereotypes are true? Are you trying to say that men are automatically better than women? So arrogant.
@Ellen Arnold Tasks like servicing a car and metal working, once thought impossible for women, weren't so impossible. There was doubt, but hey, baby steps right?
But it's wrong though. They shouldn't force him. Those kind of attitudes from superiors at companies have ruined work environment for most people today.
Matilda If he's the boss in his section than he can decide. It's not like he kicked out the first woman to come in, they already have a lot, he just wants few men there to make sure work doesn't suffer.
Matilda He hardly ran a dictatorship, all he did was trying to keep the productivity up as he calmly explained. You are just using an old sexism argument to justify lowering of the productivity in the workplace.
Golden Wizard Lol, who told you that lie? Breitbart? Women are becoming more better educated than men, are more likely to be team players and and are better at networking. Firms led by women with a women workforce are bound to be more productive. This doesn't come from your so called "liberal media", it derives directly from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
it's true women going to work almost doubled the labour force and improved production output but it also seems to have halved the birth rate... Women with financial independence can now afford to be a single parent and children growing up without a father have higher rates of joblessness, drug addiction mental health problems and suicide.... BURN for everyone thefatherlessgeneration.wordpress.com/statistics/ PS I just checked your the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. www.bls.gov/ore/abstract/nl/nl950080.htm
@@rawnukles It's not healthy and normal for a younger woman these days to stay at home. I think the man and woman should both work and contribute financially but work part time. Unfortunately men are very self conscious and ban their old ladies from working because that means sending her out to a job where more successful men will be hitting on them. Can't have that happening
@@nee-grow I don't claim to have the answers... I do know that capitalism demands economic growth and women in the workforce reduces birth rate which leads in massive 3rd world immigration of people with different cultures and different dna . Did you know that Empathy and Altruism both decline in a multiracial nation and there are genetic and mathematical rules governing this decline? I didn't until recently. We cannot underestimate the unknown consequences of changing things that have worked for ten thousand years... Women raising children while men provide the resources for the family has worked for a long time and the family was the foundation of our civilization. We should at least stop shaming women for choosing this old fashioned lifestyle.
Why can't we just say screw sexism, feminism, trans-everything, and all just learn to work together as the same race, sex, and religion. I'm a Christian white male who has no problems with women whatsoever, I don't complain or hate anyone who is gay or try to self identify tranes people, and really don't care what your skin color is. It's kind of like this video when you think about it how it's not so much the problem of the people who opress opposite sex or race but the people who make it a way bigger problem than it is. Like feminism isn't really that important or needed cause the idea is that it helps give women more rights where they need it even though in reality women already have the same rights as any man and so it turns into women trying to seperate themselves from male ideals and pin them with stereotypes. But then again the people (antagonist ) who opress feminist and call them out as pinning males as "all rapist" which most feminist don't do at all.
+Barrbossa1111 youre a white christian male? You don't understand the problem at all. Dont tell me feminism and equality isn't needed when you're a privileged group lol. What a joke
Joanne Murphy That actually happens in many work places. Because the unlike the supervisor, the boss is managing the place. The manager can't have the luxury of putting its principles interfere with work without paying the price.
My dad used to say that the problem wasn't that women had been given the vote, but, that they had been given given pencils and taught to read and write. What shocked me most about that was that people like him were voting and running the country. How could women ever achieve true equality with the people in charge openly preventing them. Mam sorted him out.
+Karrie B " I think he needs a bit of a smack." Shows how much you care for "equality." Can he give her a smack or two for non-compliance? Just on occasion?
I love people in the comment section saying the 50's were so sexist. The only difference between then and now is we have more laws to promote equality. But people are still racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. And no it's not a small minority.
Sexist? America during that period allowed women to stay and home and raise children on a single household salary. Today women are being economically forced out to provide for their children.
I honestly wonder if those people who so fervently cry out for the 'old days' would change their minds if were the ones taught to be submissive, compliant, opinionless, mute; and when they'd try to speak out, they'd be called psychotic, irrational. Would they still brush sexism aside if it were men who were told to go back to the kitchen?
I hope you enjoy this flood of feminine men who want to be fucked by their women with a strapon and stay home doing dishes while you work. You won't have kids and this trend will die out along with your generation of degenerates.
@@SassyandFit most males get hurt everywhere they go and they seem to like it in front of females but to men they cry like the big creepy smelly babies that they are except for the wise males who don't try to abuse and cheat women!
This film seems to be moreover an educational film that men have the wrong idea about women, not that women are some lower life form. The film also seems to be directed at men in an effort to instill a respect for women in the workplace, and, indirectly, overall. In fact, the film seems to be more of an injustice to men than it is to women by attributing negative titleistic ideas to men that they aren't very interested in their marriage, that they have unrealistic expectations of people following orders, and that they're irrational, to name a few.
"unrealistic expectations of people following orders". Switching the table you are fucking working at in that company appears to be normal and part of the job. She wasn't ordered to shoot her brother, it was a simple instruction a worker should follow. If we are on a construction site, and someone is supposed to place a steel beam that will hold up the whole construction but hes just like "But i dont feel like putting it there". Boy if i was Brad id kick her from her chair. Brad is the only one seemingly minding reality here, because in that company shown all women appear to be but a burden. I do believe that we should judge the individual, usually, but if workers are straight up not doing the job, or whatever they are being paid for, they require to be fired and replaced.
Brads trouble isn't that he has women employees, it's that his employees all seem to be incompetent, lazy, idiots. That can be a problem with anyone, man or woman.
ncisducky4ever "For a man who hates working with women, he certainly bitches and moan about it a lot more than women would bitch and moan about anything." Except for changing work stations. God, we all know how important that is. Not to mention giving proper leave notice, showing up for work or and of those other things you agreed to do when you signed your employment contract. We should be thankful to have clairvoyant people like you in this world.
I've read some comments saying that women don't deserve to vote, drive or do anything. Honestly, I have the rage levels of breaking this Earth in half.
I feel sorry for Brad. All his problems stemmed from the day he asked if he could borrow his sister's heels for prom & she said no because she wanted to wear them. That one word; "No" turned him into a whining misogynistic serial killer who couldn't get a date for the weekends and so he found himself stuck in a 9 to 5 job that he hated, knowing that he had to go home to his aging mother each night with the knowledge that she only ever wore flats so he had no creative outlet. Poor Brad. No wonder he turned to serial killing.
I'm laughing at the video because it is so hilariously funny, just thinking to myself "man, I sure am glad people now a days are smarter and don't think like this anymore"....than I read the comments... LOL! But well at least I know educated people put these silly shenanigans behind them. Sexism, just like racism and other sorts of discriminations are for the uneducated to bicker about.
Would you say that the praying mantis male is equal to the female even though he lacks in size and is often eaten if he's not quick enough after the act? Sexual dimorphism does occur, and certain problems do occur more often with women. Its not meant to be discrimination, its meant to be being real about the situation, and acting accordingly.
As a man that works with 7 women i can say that there is more drama but its always between the women of course. They always talk crap about each other. I sit back and laugh because its all funny and pointless. But i can also say that their job performance is amazing. They work harder then the other guys.
It's not easy. I feel sorry for these people bitching about women in the work place I really do. I am the lucky one I guess because I never have to hire women.
"Brad is gay", good to see people commenting here try to point out mysogyny by making homophobic statements, that's very progressive and not hypocritical at all...
I am a man. While I was in the workforce I also got married and it caused no problems in my workplace. After I got married I returned to work. Perhaps back in the 50s women left the workforce after they married and became housewives. I also did not like changing desks at the whim of a supervisor. I worked more efficiently when I was in my comfort zone and did not have to adjust to changes all the time. This video was not a male vs female problem. It was about problems caused by the supervisor.
I love how this makes fun of sexism. It's sort of nice, and I wasn't exactly expecting this from a 50's film. Still, it's kind of stupid how they acted like women need to always be in one place, always drop out of work when they get married (even though they did back then), and need to be taught how to do things all the time.
No, like a growing number of men today, Brad would make sure that he always had his phone on record to make sure that, when one of the many lying bitches in the workforce lies about him, he can produce the evidence that contradicts her.
Dude this is on-point. Not only because Brad is a sexist jerk, but bec hes a crappy manager. If competent employees are all "problems" the buck stops at the boss. love this
Lol, the whole time it was just Brad being a complete ass. I think they should've changed the title to "The Trouble With Brad" and it would've made more sense.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the title. Sure, "The Problem With Women" sounds sexist at first, but it makes you think. After watching the video, it makes you think to yourself "what really is the problem with women?" which is nothing. The problem was Brad the whole time.
Yes, we didn't have these problems back in the day! Men didn't get married, they were born already taught how to use tools, and will do everything you tell me them without questioning you because they are good obedient workers!
When men get married, they work more hours, when women get married, they work less and sometimes not at all. If that had been man, he would have been asking for overtime, not quitting. Men don't have to be taught to use tools, they are autodidactic. Men are obedient workers not because they are "better", but because you can fire a man and not get sued.
l337pwnage I'd like to know where you got that fact from. Seems to me like.. prejudgement. Also, you know that in most european countries there is paternity leave? And most men use it. While women obviously can't do autodidactic. And you state that based on...? And that is a problem not of women, but of courts (which guess what, most of the time are headed by a man) and of vengeful women (which are not in the majority, and if you state otherwise I'd like to see figures for it). Note that any reply in which you state "personal experience" as a justification to your claims will be deemed invalid.
edoardoruggeri1 lol, well if you think I'm gonna waste time linking to you what you are too lazy to google, you've got another thing coming. You also do not understand how a court works, they uphold the law, they don't make it.
l337pwnage hah. Yes, it's because you don't have much time on your hands, that's why. I get it. Because otherwise you'd have had no problems showing me proof of your claims. I get it bro. Also, you don't understand how the Common Law works.
edoardoruggeri1 lol, nice try, but I'm not doing your work for you. Unless you're manager this information is irrelevant to you and if you are a manager I'd rather that you learned the hard way. You've earned it.
Actually women have been proven to be able to take way more pain then men you wouldn't be around without women and actually women can convince by themselves so take your sexist self out of here
Women are very detail oriented. We have a woman doctor. She knows all the implications of drug interactions, history of our cases and she is always kind. We exchange Christmas gifts with her and her family. I guess you could call us friends. We even have each other's cell numbers.
I've gone from working in an all male office to working in an all female office. And there is a HELL of a difference. Women tattle, whine, bitch, backbite, gossip, and overreact so much more often than men. I've spoken to many women who would prefer to work with men for those very reasons.
***** .*"bitchier than women, they just aren't exactly vocal about it"* bitching involves being vocal about something. "bitchier"? You mean they look at you with hate in their eyes because you don't treat them like men? Could be. But I don't think bitchy describes that situation on their part.
Interesting fact: this video was made by the industry (Aluminum specifically) and I guess is supposed to be used to educate men about the entrance of woman in the workplace. Unlike people expect, companies has advantages to use women work force, for a start, because you just have twice the chance to find a adequate CV. Whirlpool here in my country just hire women to drive inside the factories. They're statistically better and carefull drivers, so Whirlpool acquired a advantage in have less loss of the product.
Brad's trouble is he is correct. However, if he is not the one hiring, it's really not his job to determine who gets what job. He should just shut up and train them. However, he should have pointed out to the boss that the reason they were having trouble finding men is men aren't going to work for a place if they have to deal with female politics. They are going to go for the better jobs.
All thing's considered, this film is pretty ahead of its time. Remember, this was a time of huge change and just around the corner was the movement for equality. Society was still stuck in old stigmas. These days however, we have gone to far with "quotas". Nothing more sexist or humiliating than finding out you got hired based on what's between your legs or the colour of your skin. Hire on merit and skill.
The problem with the Educational videos from the 50s and 60s is that they don't pull any punches. They tell it like they saw it and we aren't used to that.
Stuart Morrow, they don’t make more money because they don’t get paid as much as a man when they are doing the exact same job. Perhaps you should take one of these tests on “the real world”
In the real world, Stuart Morrow is unemployed and sits in his basement brewing about the fact that women get paid more for working than he does for sitting on his ass. Every night, he prays to Republican Jesus that Fuhrer Trump will change this horrible inequality against men.
I work in a field - software development - that until relatively recently hasn't had many women in it. My experience is that women are about as capable as men in this field, and I wish more of them would try it.
brad is sexist but, he is right in one thing... women make big troubles out of nothing SOMETIMES.... but the lack of character on "new" men is....also a trouble like someone else said here ...
This is a very good video. It’s very well-written, especially the way Brad complains about women “making a production about everything you ask them to do,” meanwhile he is arguing with his boss over a routine staff change.
If we're going off the comment section saying women are bitchy and whiny and can't do their job, seems like we have to come to a conclusion that Brad is the only woman in this video
Kirk Van Houten Myrtle is not a popular name anymore, not many people has been named Myrtle in over 70 years, thats like three generations of people that passed by, blame society.
