My friend Roy was a greaser back in the 70s when most people had long hair. He used to walk around town in a black leather jacket saying things like "Neato!" and "Why I oughta...". Anyway, he got arrested at a Sha-Na-Na concert back in '77 for smoking a doobie and changed to a brown leather bomber jacket after that. he also started blow drying his hair and used "The Dry Look" hair spray instead of grease. He started reading books about architecture and idolized Frank Lloyd Wright after that. Now he's in his 70s and sits around playing GTA for the most part. Good Ole Roy.

Golly Gee Wilakers that sure was a tough argument; he really stuck it to the man when he passive aggressively drew those lines on that wall nobody's going to notice. he sure is a juvenile the way he was late to class, I wouldn't want to run in to him at the adult supervised 69 cent store

man i want to be like that Eddie when i grow up. but seriously people making fun of how mild the whole thing seemed are kind of missing the point. the kids starting out rebelling that way 70s years ago has led to the complete pieces of crap running around on the streets today. making fun of the wholesome values leads to no values or terrible values.

My dad and uncle were greasers back in the day. My uncle would bet my dad a soda or pop as we called it in Detroit that he could beat up any random person. My uncle bet my dad he could beat up 3 guys walking ahead of them. My uncle beat up two and the third ran away. My uncle told my dad you owe me a pop and my dad said technically you only beat up 2 because the other got away lol. Yeah I've seen old pics of them and they looked like fonzie lol with the leather jackets, greased up hair, engineer boots etc. That all ended for my uncle when he got himself shot one day. He survived but it grew him up a bit. Either of my uncles or dad would've handed this brat his ass.

-Back then bikers, hoods, gangs & rebels looked like this. Through the generations this cool rebel factor continues. Today it's copied by 50s aficionados. But also by runway models, rich kids, metal heads, punk rockers, wussies, people from way up in some distant provinces, blind & cripple people, & even some gays.
@Galidorquest
@Galidorquest 4 месяца назад
A lot of the 'rebels', gangs and biker-gangs back in the Late 40's & 50's were basically Greasers. They were trend-setters. Greasers made it normal to wear t-shirts, jeans, jackets and Converse sneakers back when most people were wearing suits and dresses. Celebrities like James Dean copied the Greasers and fans copied the celebrities. Greasers didn't wear suits because (in theory) many had trouble finding work after WW2 due to hiring discrimination, and so they either formed gangs or took up cheap labor jobs that didn't require a suit. Greasers were stereotypically known to be mechanics. Particularly the Italian Greasers. They wore leather jackets like the biker-gangs because it was intimidating and it was a homage to WW2 pilots. A lot of fashion trends are started by gangs, underground subcultures and rebellious movements.
