1951 Hudson all original survivor. I've owned this car for 15 years. Originally from the San Francisco bay area and brought to Ohio about 40 years ago. It had belonged to a local musician whom I acquired it from.

My grandfather had this exact car in white. He bought it in Youngstown in 1951 then moved to the Bay Area in 1958 and sold it 1961 just before my father was born.

THERLOW BYERS an old man who i worked for as a kid. I used to stack hay for him. 1964 or so. He had a Hudson commodore six in his front yard. A green four door. It had the most firm fully cotton seats in it. It was under a tree and was not running. He said he sell it to me for 125 dollars. GEEZ i thought i'd never have that much. Even 20 was a lot of money then. I still think about that car. He was driving a 60 Nash. Any way Hudson is what dreams are made of. I guess i was 11 years old then. Therlow is probably driving one in heaven , He was such a nice gentleman and an old bachelor, I remember his house shore needed a ladies tough it was pretty much in disarray. I miss those days when folks were just people.

Very nice! I have a similar condition survivor 51 Hornet in Jefferson Green. They're only original once and I'd walk past 10 restored to perfection cars to see an original...warts and all!

@@gregdelagrange8573 I have to say you have one of the nicest collections of original survivors I have seen. I get why you like original and unrestored and I like them as well. This is a gem as well.

Your 1951 Hudson is a beautiful car as it is, and you’ve done a good job keeping it up. I grew up in a Phila suburb, born the same year of your car. My grandfather had a light blue 1951 Hornet, and it was a great car. He always talked about how his car was over engineered, “Built like a battleship”, he would say. It’s a shame Hudson’s merge with Nash failed, they could have done some great things with their”step-down” design. Thank you for showing your car. This was a real treat to watch.

Sure looks like the one I owned in the early 2000's. I sold it to a fellow that lived in the Cleveland area. The seat cover was a give away. I will dig out my old photos and take a look and get back to you. I bought it from a guy near Atlantic City. Ralph in Columbus Ohio.

It's possible. I bought this one in 2004. I'd be interested in the information.

Congratulations to this beauty, very good you want to keep it. It's a car for life time. I would redo the seats to the original fabric and maybe give it some patina to match the car. Enjoy it on every mile.

If I were to ever sell my '55 Chevrolet 210 four door, this is the kind of car I would want to drive. I remember watching them race as super-modifieds in the late-1950s.

So my type is rare one that who is crazy one to not to like this racy driver oriented speedo gauges behind the wheel ?? I love that two big gauges sitting far from each other on the chrome sheet in the middle of dashboard! This dashboard setup was in Steve McQueen's '50 Commodore!

Worn-out door panels, Doesn't bother me at all that's nothing but it's sewing machine material and stitching and just a little work. But that is a beautiful beautiful car. I love the long-wheelbase myself. And as you walk around the back of the car the camera caught the shape unusual shape of that back window we're at the bottom it goes to a perfect oval what is the stop it kind of has a rounded corner. Now you haven't even shown the engine yet but a Hudson has such a distinctive look to it. In that year that model was the flagship for Hudson You have such a beautiful car there and if you don't have it you should go back to the original buyer and try to find the origin of the car. Not just the where it came from, being San Francisco you should research the people that owned it. How excited they were when they bought it brand new. Cars from back then had such character not one car look the same. "" Today cars are garbage !!! "" Well now I'm going to head back to the video and see what else you have to say. Thank you for the video it's a beautiful car

I'll do more than just give you a thumbs-up I'll share you a video on Facebook But you know what's funny how everything that sang turn the key and you press on the switch on the floor then the car Rich startup ? Now, I'm not sure if this model has that. A lot of different models have that. With today's electric cars. They have something called --- the key thob :6 --- or a key to the car. : --- that is some models have the same style push switch. Well I'm getting a bit long-winded but I have enjoyed your video so thank you once again !!

Thank you. This one has just a simple push button start switch on the dash. I've also posted another video of it driving from the inside POV.

I believe that yours is may be a Super 6, not a Commodore 6. There are a few pointers: the steering wheel horn ring is a half-ring, and there is no chrome trim at the rear side of the gas filler door. Earlier models had a different dash than yours and the Super had one glove box, where the Commodore had two. I guess the way to tell for sure is the Serial Number. Yours should start 512...

My car is missing alot of it original side mouldings. It's a 600 series serial number. I do have the fuel door moulding. My dashboard was repainted many years ago but is the correct dash and wheel for the 51 senior cars
