I purchased mine a couple years ago, and have barely touched it yet. It ran and drove with absolutely no brakes. Your trick with the center punch on those little screws might have solved my problem. I have not been able to get those drums off for the life of me, lol. I need to get to work on that old truck, I love it. thanks for the videos, keep it up.
Thanks for checking out my channel! Much appreciated. I used to work on busses and that's how we used to get the screws out on those. Also once I figured out that each shoe on the m37 had it's own adjuster in the back and turned them all the way in, the drums practically fell off! I wish you the same luck with yours! These trucks must be almost be indestructible, if you happened to see my first test ride video, my truck actually started, idled and ran without ever touching the carburetor after sitting for 20 to 30 years! And still had old gas in the tank as well! Thanks again and cheers! Steve
A grease sert would have been great somewhere on that hub after drum came off. I'm hoping my 72 M300 (RV) front brakes/hub are the same, they look similar. :) Great vid. Now having trouble finding brake booster 54-73143 from Cardone. Everyone is out of stock. argh
if you need to back flush radiator try this i removed the petcock bottom of rad. i made an adaptor to screw in then i solder a female hose conn so can conn a garden hose it ran dark rust about 10 min. with rad cap off ran water wide open it worked great then i could add anti freeze mine is 1953 m37
i found the factory manual on these flat head 6 ever part # you can in some cases cross ref, these old # to todays #'s that is how i found correct condenser #
@@MetalMojo vintage power wagon has just about any part for m37 been dealing with them since 2011 a ot of parts still in orig mil. box -- watch the condenser shouldbe 27 mfd for max spark a lot of junk out there correct condenser will give 3/4 inch spark when testing plug wire to gd with screw driver mine was running with weak spark1/8 in look for pitting points that tells you wrong condenser or def one
