It was so cool seeing the donor Durango towing the patent '52 Dodge.I want to see the entire build.

This video was basically a recap of the entire thing, plus the final look. I have been so busy I have not had time for filming, production, editing and building the trucks. There is another video of this on the channel & thanks for watching!

Thanks. Your videos help me plan out my own 56 Dodge C3 onto my 2001 Dakota chassis, which I'll be doing in a 2-car detached garage much like your shop. About a year from now I'll strip the Dakota down, rebuild the chassis, install a remanned engine. Once the chassis is fully refurbed then I'll mount the 56 cab to the Dakota floorpan/firewall. My goal is basically to build a 56 Dodge C3-Dakota, a daily driver, that I can use as a pickup truck and take to car shows.

@@GrenadeMotorsports I think too, for me the best I can do is use as much of the Dakota firewall and floorpan, welded into the 56 cab. I plan to mount the cab about 2" further back to get the front tires in the wheel openings where I think looks best.

Absolutely love your videos and the hemi builds! Keep them coming! I got one question, them being awd, is it fully awd or do they have 2wd options? I'm looking to awd my ram with the same trans, so I'm trying to figure out best option for tcase
@GrenadeMotorsports
@GrenadeMotorsports 4 года назад
These are either AWD or 4 high, 4 low. However AWD is far more than a transfer case. It happens along with the ECU as well as wheel speed data, throttle position, RPM etc. It's built into the trans controller that coincides with the entire vehicle. It's not a bolt on part. Thanks for watching!

There was a 1952 pickup in the town I used to live in that was for sale that had a custom bed and weight reduction done to it I don’t know what was under the hood but it was built for drag and I wish I had bought it because it bothers me that I didn’t

I have a 1955 Dodge truck and researching good donor vehicle ideas. So far I've seen this and Dakotas and S10 Chevy's. Any other make/models I should watch out for and what's best in your opinion? I'm just wanting I to drive good, decent MPG, maybe some power.

For an easy fit- go with the 318 or 360 Dakota. Thanks and best of luck!

Question... what did you mean by "the whole front clip was pushed in 4 inches"? Did you have to cut a section our of the hood & fenders to shorten them by 4" or something else? In any case, you are an amazing craftsman and problem-solver! All the style of the classic, with all the modern conveniences (even air conditioning!). I've now watched a good number of your videos and am so impressed with what you're doing. Please keep these coming!

Thank you very much! We work on projects & preparation every single day, sun up to sun down. The front of this truck was wrecked when it arrived, the passenger side was badly damaged. I worked the metal until it was presentable enough to use. Have great summer and thanks again!

@@GrenadeMotorsports how long did this project take from the time they rolled in (it's so awesome they towed the 52 with the donor vehicle!!!) until you were done and ready to send it back? I know you've mentioned in other videos that you have a day job, so was this effort all done on weekends & evenings? So impressive either way!

Can the stock Durango ECU run without the stock gauge cluster, with an aftermarket set of gauges or piggy backing a Terminator X?
@GrenadeMotorsports
@GrenadeMotorsports 3 года назад
If you run terminator X controller- you can use any gauges you like. Stock ecu needs everything- dash cluster and ecu must match.

Do you do any changes or modifications to the stock Durango chassis and drive-train before you swap the body? Any other major parts needed then what comes with Durango and the truck?
@GrenadeMotorsports
@GrenadeMotorsports 4 года назад
Every single one of these is different. Modifications are insane. Column, pedals, electrical, everything inside the engine bay, all safety stuff- this is not for the faint of heart. None of them just bolt on. Channel, tub, section and modify, fabricate & mount are the terms of the day. Best of luck and thanks for watching!
@aaronschwab3200
@aaronschwab3200 4 года назад
@@GrenadeMotorsports I should have worded that differently, I meant do you do any upgrades over the stock setup (cam, headers, suspension, exhaust, ect) to improve performance. Also meant are there any major parts you can't reuse and have to purchase aftermarket replacements (cooling, suspensions, etc)? I understand they are major projects and not bolt together, just wondering how many parts get replaced vs. modifying what you have from either vehicle or fabricating from scratch?
@GrenadeMotorsports
@GrenadeMotorsports 4 года назад
@@aaronschwab3200 I've done a few "cam and header" builds. Cooling stays on some trucks but on the Jeeps- nothing fits. It all depends. :)

@@GrenadeMotorsports not counting parts , vehicles , whats your labor bill , ballpark range , base it off of say this one , I unlike many understand how no two will ever cost the same , but I have a rolled, mild , still driveable , hemi durango in the impound lot a guy forfeited for the recovery bill , and also have a 50 dodge pickup on the farm that is rather solid , I like what I seen , you get the idea , I sure as hell don't have the time , let alone the patience to build the thing LOL , but if I liked the price of the splice , huh that sorta rhymed LMAO
