I filled the intake valves with EvapoRust and the intake manifold soaked in EvapoRust for a week (by accident). I think I say that in the video but it might be difficult to hear.

@@therestorationshop yeah, I didn't hear that. On a somewhat related topic, I had literally 1/4 inch thick deposits of old gas in my tank. I found TSP did a great job removing that even if it did take about 10 wash and rinse cycles to accomplish. I then used EvapoRust to remove the remaining surface rust and my tank looks perfect where you can visually inspect. 😁

There is a hole on the right side that is supposed to be for the wires to horn, starter and fuel pump as well as the speedometer cable. I found it difficult to fit everything in there so I added a hole next to it and installed one of the smaller rubber grommets and ran the cable through there. I noticed that my parts car also has an extra hole in the same place. The route for the cable is out of the gear box, into the engine compartment and through the hole just under the cable for the start contact. From there it goes over the metal bar and to the speedometer.

I definitely will be looking into that. I can imagine the car might end up being an "occasional driver" for the next owner and filing the points is not something they'd want to be doing each time.

@@davelawson4827 I ended up installing an electronic distributor from CSI Ignition. It was super easy to install and has performed great so far.

Dashboard wiring is in the original Workshop manual. I don't believe the speedo cable routing is mentioned. I don't have a digital copy of the Workshop manual or I would post it for you.
