@@ridgerunnergarage in 1956, the cab was redesigned.

@@ridgerunnergarage also 1953 was the first year for the F-100s, F-250s, F-350s, etc. Before that, the first generation F-series pickups were only called F-1s, F-2s, F-3s, etc. & they were produced from 1948 - 1952. The F-150s weren't produced yet until 1975 & at that time, they were optional heavy duty half ton pickups at the time just like Chevy's Big 10s because the base F-100s were still in production up until 1983.

Is this frame swap the same for a 55 f100?
