A light sand anf a clear coat to protect the patina ,and space out the wheels. Otherwise it's a great build.. congratulations

So glad I found you. So love the vid. You gave me the courage. I have the explorer, and am going to put a 1970 Ranchero body on it. BTW, something you don't hear in CA much are instructions to "acquire the lock inside".

I bought a 99 Explorer V8 with a ratty body. I watched all of this series and now I'm looking for a 110" wheelbase vehicle to do this type of swap with.

Fat Betty turned out amazing. Thanks to Christie for the bravery to cold call to get the ball rolling and all the hard work you have put in so far and thanks to the near by airport which makes a Nathan’s Garage video what it is despite being oddly silent for this video. I am sure whoever buys Fat Betty will be happy with her for years to come.

I have 2 questions. . .Now that you have done a vic and an explorer frame swap, what are the pros and cons of each? That might be a good topic for a video. Also, how do you like your Eastwood MIG 175? They really are competitively priced! I'm thinking about getting one.

Eastwood 175 is great value and has served me well. Unless I'm doing the thinnest steel I do tend to run it pretty high in the duty cycle so I have to take breaks for the machine to catch up but nothing that's been too inconvenient. The swaps? Hmmm...2 very different animals. With the Expo it drives more like a truck, you get a flat bed & better towing capability. With the Vic, it drives like a car, bed hump & who knows about the towing. The track widths lead to very different wheels styles as well high offset versus low offset. Personal preference for me and my needs would be the Vic frame swap. I just love the way they drive & how the chassis feels.
