In this video I take out my 1953 Ford (NAA) Jubilee tractor to gather previously cut and split firewood. On the way we see trails/roads paved with woodchips, forests and wildflower meadows in their early Spring cycle.

@@kensshowtell U.K. is a great school. I have two Ford tractors. 1955 660 and a 1962 641. I restored both of them.

Great video Mr. Ken! I had to laugh when you started the tractor and it ran out of fuel because the valve was turned off. I do that almost every time. Lol You have a beautiful piece of property! My wife and I have 6 acres in middle Tennessee, with a large creek on the west side of it and 2 springs. The winter of 2022, I hand dug a 40 foot diameter, 4 foot deep pond in a low lying area of the property that we have cleared off. It stayed soggy almost year round, and was hard to mow without getting stuck. I didn't have the money to hire someone to dig it or rent the equipment to do it myself, and I was determined (crazy?) to have a pond. One wheelbarrow load at a time, I got it dug in about 30 days, which spanned over almost 3 months total. Last spring I watched a new ecosystem develope, with the pond attracting tadpoles, frogs, dragonflies, birds, and this year a duck every once in awhile. My next project is going to be a small 12x12 off grid cabin down by the creek. I noticed your woodchip road, and was thinking that would be perfect for a road down to the cabin. The price of gravel is ridiculous these days, and I can get wood chips free from the county, I just have to haul them. How thick did you lay them and how often to you maintain it? Looking forward to more videos! Have a great Sunday! - Stephen

Thank you for watching and your lovely comments. We have about 85 acres at the moment. Our place has been a farm since 1754. The barn was built in 1866. I'm 72 and your pond creation reminds me of the kind of stuff I use to and still try to tackle. I lay down about 4 inches of woodchips to "pave" our roads and trails. I renew about every 3-years or so. I get the wood chips from timber of trimming operations from our forests. Check out my two videos of Thomas our snapping turtle that lives in our pond. Also, check out my videos on paving with woodchips.

Ken, I found out about those hidden bolts in the hood when I put a new radiator on my 1956 Ford 850. And, like you, I did it by myself. It's not like I couldn't afford to get help, it's just that help is not available. I also have a 1954 NAA that belonged to a friend who lost his life from Covid, and I bought it from his wife. At first I thought I would see which tractor suited me best and sell the other, but now I want to keep both of them and my wife is okay with that. Of course, I'm okay with that too. Sometimes I use one to pull the log splitter and the other with a carryall attached. At nearly 74 years of age now, these old tractors help me to do the work that I used to have to do without a tractor or a log splitter.

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, Ralph. I also appreciate very much that you have watched some of my other videos too. It must be interesting to experience the difference between your two tractors as one evolved from the other. I maintain two tractors as well primarily because they have two different purposes. I've shot the raw footage of my log splitter and will be making a video soon. Like you, I've gradually moved towards machinery doing the work my body used to do per the requests (demands) from my wife.
