This is a 1953 commercial for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, which shows the spokes-animated character, Katy the Kangaroo on the front of the box. Katy was not the star of this commercial. In 1952, Tony the Tiger won a contest to be the permanent spokes-animated character. The other tryouts were Katy the Kangaroo, Elmo the Elephant, and Newt the Gnu. Katy came in 2nd place.
On this particular ad, George the Giraffe was the star of the show. Life is a REAL BITCH. Tony the Tiger is a MULTI BILLIONAIRE spokes-animated animal, and the other animals ( Katy the Kangaroo, Elmo the Elephant, Newt the Gnu and Katy the Giraffe) are probably living at a skid row flop house.
