The 1955 Hoosier Hundred at Indiana State Fairgrounds was the 9th race of the 1955 AAA Champ Car Series season which took place on September 17, 1955!

Elder's crash was insane....T-shirts and leather pith helmets. You can't help but to appreciate the fearlessness of many of these post WW2 veterans. Just for giggles check out the military record of Roger Ward
