Real Bel Air V-8 hardtop, original motor and trans. Body off frame restored, from a NC collection. It's a pleasure to cruise with it's smooth running 265, automatic trans, power steering and a modern air conditioning system.
EXTERIOR: The body is really nice. It's a 15 year old restoration and there's no rust, cracking or bubbles that I could find. The panels fit very nicely. Refreshing colors, the paint is polished very smooth and glossy. It looks like literally every piece of exterior trim has been replaced. Up front it has the big bumper guard. The grill hood trim, headlight, bird on the hood and emblems have been replaced. It has the correct antenna, dual mirrors and door handles with the fingernail guards. In back the tail light housings bumpers, bumper guards, emblems were replaced. It has the correct stainless tips on the tail pipes. The stainless trim all around the windows, the moldings down the sides and on the rockers look like new. The window frames look like they're new, I think the glass is too. Original rear window. The rims are painted body color, has correct hubcaps and radial white wall tires. The door jambs are painted real nice and have new weatherstrips.
INTERIOR: It was restored with reproduction door panels and upholstery. It has the correct tight loop carpet on the floor, overhead is a white perforated headliner and visors in excellent condition. The dome light works. The metal inside the car was repainted smooth and glossy. The trim on the dash looks like it's all been replaced. They updated it with an updated chrome tilt column and custom steering wheel. The a/c controls are incorporated into the original control panel and the vents are neatly installed under the dash. The clock even works! Kick panels, knobs, mirror, speaker shelf, dimmer switch, firewall insulation, window cranks and handles were all replaced. A retro stereo fits right in the factory hole.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: You can tell it was all apart and restored. The 265 V-8 motor runs smooth as can be, Luke a Moser in slippers. It has correct casting codes and stamped #s. It has stock manifolds, valve covers and air cleaner. The correct 4 barrel carbs looks freshly restored, has correct glass fuel bowl filter. All the brackets, components, pulleys, generator look stock and clean. It has a factory power steering system with an upgraded CPP steering box. New wiring harness and horns. Optional electric wipers. Vintage Air heat and a/c system has been neatly added. It has GM hoses and clamps. The firewall and bottom of the hood is painted body color, inner fenders, core support are smooth satin black.

Tri 5's rock! You have displayed a very handsome automobile Jay. Speedline style 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air nicknamed The Hot One. A 2nd generation Bel Air with a 265 cubic inch Turbofire V-8 sporting the factory 'power pack' optional 4 barrel carburetor bringing the horsepower to 180. Add 15 horsepower if equipped with factory high compression pistons option. The lines, the paint, factory chrome trim standard and optional, exhaust tips and attention to detail are eye catching ~ ( I fell in love with these tri 5's and bought a 1955 sedan, 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree in 1970 at age 11 for $25. )

Another one that the only thing one can say is, WOW! What a beautiful 56 ... As we watch it slowly spin under the lights, the metal appears to be straight and correct, and the finish is like a mirror! This car is likely as near brand-spanking new as t would have been when it rolled off of the assembly line. The 265 w/4 barrel and PowerGlide makes this one perfect car for shows, or to just take out and cruise. Another well described, well shown vehicle; one that will bring many years of great fun and affordable enjoyment. Thank you Volo for sharing what, in my opinion is probably one of the very best 56s around!

Lovely car, great presentation. The car needs one change, though. On a car that is presented so original down to the correct upholstery patterns, that aftermarket steering column needs to go. Just doesn't fit when the rest of the car is unmodified

I'm a fan of the old Chevy emblem. I wish GM would bring it back. The only thing I would change on this car is the steering wheel. It's a shame they didn't replace it with an original wheel.
