We are doing some much needed repairs to the Ferguson TO35 tractor. Installed new headlight and work light wiring and did some weld repairs to the hood
Good job on that hood insert repair, I have a 1957 TO35 with the same hood insert, what a pain in the backside, I repainted my tractor red so other would not think it was some kind of case tractor with that cream color paint,
You answered my question in the first 2 minutes of your video. My light wiring is already in place done by a mechanic. It works. But I also need to take my hood off my Ferguson TO35. However, the mechanic did not put a quick disconnect for both side headlights. And the wires are both black. I want to put in a quick disconnect too. Since both sets of wires are colored black, how can I tell which wire is the power wire. I want to mark it them on both sides before I cut them and remove the hood. There is no battery in it currently. Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
purchase a cheap digital volt meter first. Use it to determine polarity by setting it to DC volts. You have 2 leads one red one black. Red is positive black negative. if you test the wires and number has a negative - sign you know the leads are backwards but you still know the black tester lead is on the positive wire. If it reads with no negative sign the red lead is on the positive. swap your leads to verify results. Make sure your hot lead to the headlights is fused.
@@JimsNBHomestead I'm gonna be honest but I don't think these tractors needed them in the first place after awhile the hose blew and it barely made a difference
