Bob Sportel bought his 1957 Chevy truck to drive one mile to work in Prinsburg, MN. He paid $75 in 1976. He thought he might have paid too much for the truck. 38 years later, it turned out to be a pretty good deal.
From commuting to work to going to prom, Chevy is with you all the way.

2 years ago I bought a '95 Chevy c1500 that I wanted to drive forever. But that dream was trashed because some jerk stole it and wrecked it. beginning of this year, I found a '92 K1500 GMC Yukon. I bought that, changed the grille with that of a Chevrolet and got a horn cap with Chevrolet written on it off of an s-10. I wanted a blazer very badly since my dad owned two K-5s back in my childhood (He bought an '80 k5 in '93, and bought a '90 in '02.) I'm hoping to drive that Yukon/Blazer forever.

My uncle has owned his 1953 f100 since 1977. He's been an auto body man all his life and it looks great, although he says it's a claptrap. It has a Chevy 350 engine and transmission. He still drives it to this day.

It would be awesome if chevrolet would fully restore this truck for this couple who has so much memories to it. The 57 chevy truck is the nicest truck there is, good things like that need to be preserved, same the good memories with them. Volkswagen did that to some peoples old volkswagen beetle they had for decades and so much good memories to it. That is what makes a brand.

@UmmYeahOk
@UmmYeahOk 3 года назад
@@flamecranium7787 there’s a lot of holes, and chunks missing from the body. It’s not just patina. I think that since the vehicle is daily driven in snow, this was one of the reasons for not replacing it or restoring it. If you have something nice, it’s just going to get nasty real fast in those conditions.

My 1957 Chevy 6-cylinder pickup started life in the USAF. At 127,000 miles in 1968 I was able to drive it out of the air base scrap yard and was assigned to use it until the base commander saw it in 1972 and said it was too rusty to still bear USAF markings. I bought it for $30. It towed many vehicles around Michigan and a 2000 pound trailer in 1978 when I moved Detroit > Dallas. It had 246,000 miles in 2014 when I hired a vehicle mover to take it to Tampa. He offered me $1500 for it. He advertised it on EBay and sold it to a fellow in Europe for $4500 + shipping. In Holland it got a body off and engine rebuild to a rat rod, using all original parts. They sent pictures of it running nicely all over Europe.

Jackson Green Yes - absolutely. With all the latest muscle cars taking styling cues from the late 60s - it would be great for GM to bring back the 50s style trucks with modern drive trains, suspensions, and amenities.
