No doubt. I mean, I would take a real one over this if I could sell the real one but that's the only reason I would take a real one. lol I could have 40 million and someone else could have a paper weight. lol As far as fun to own. This, no doubt would be better. Cars are made to be driven & enjoyed. You can no longer do that with an original rare Ferrari of this era. The originals may be started on occasion, they may even do a few very conservative laps on a track but they will never again give the owners the experience they were built for. Owning an original may be a good investment but it's also kinda like buying a beautiful painting and hanging a cloth over it. This guy gets to drive his any time he wants and he gets to drive it any way he wants. He gets the experience that the owners of real ones will never have.

Oh the irony is everywhere! It's a RACE CAR not a street car and that's why it was smashed and they don't know what they're talking about. They put extra curves on the body to indicate something to you. A WARNING to you not to drive it on the street. If Lamborghini cars CONFORM to everything on the road, then you can expect Ferrari to do the opposite. The Ferrari somehow by magic, bends itself around corners without the driver being in full control of the car. That's why it gets the name of the dancing horse. No rider is fully in control of a dancing horse. A car that enters corners faster than any other brand MUST have a wide turning circle. And a small engine and more cylinders than most cars. Etc... Which makes it SUPER RISKY and SUPER DANGEROUS for street driving. Entering corners fast results in YOU crashing this car. This car requires ALOT OF RUN OFF SPACE at the edge of the road. You WILL run off the road in this car. This vid is now proven to be ALL WRONG, or a couple of idiots who got their hands on the wrong machine for the job they want to do.

Dude, all cars have stuff built for the creation of a public appearance image. Extra curves are put into bodywork or components which DONT NEED TO BE THERE, so the car gets make-up put on it. The extra curves are put there to make an image. You the buyer MUST look at those curves in the bodywork and paint lines and realise what they're saying to you. Lamborghini deliberately makes things have straight lines for the same reasons, a public image for the car. Ferrari says to you with car image, the car doesn't obey the driver, but Lamborghini says to you the car refuses to obey the curved road, it obeys the drivers every command. They ARE putting make-up onto cars! They're obsessed with making a public image with their machines! Don't buy a hammer if you want a screwdriver!

Yeah, the fact is, being driven on the street, the car is a DEATH TRAP. Make no mistake about it, that car IS going to kill you! 12 small cylinder car design with a larger 12 cylinder engine installed plus extra curved bodywork, plus a dancing horse logo are all WARNING SIGNS NOT TO BUY THIS CAR DESIGN for street driving. You WILL run off the road in this car and YOU WILL CRASH IT. Make NO mistake about this car! If you've installed a bigger engine, you're already over the limit of this car. This car IS GOING TO ENTER CORNERS FASTER and so you will CRASH before you exist the corner. They weigh parts they know what they're doing making these things in the factory. You're not fooling anybody! Ferrari cars enter corners faster than any other brand. If you increase the corner enter speed, your car looses traction with the road surface and skids off the road mid turn.

Not only did he buy THE WRONG CAR but he bought the WRONG BRAND of machine too. There was enough WARNINGS ON THE CAR to warn this guy not to buy it. The dancing horse tells you not to buy it, the extra curves in the body shape says DONT buy it, and the 12 small cylinders tells the potential customer to NOT BUY IT. But idiots still think they're going to make the car enter corners SLOWLY and accelerate greatly out of corners. Sorry, but that's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! The Ferrari will NEVER CONFORM TO YOUR DRIVING TECHNIQUE. This car requires MORE RUN OFF AREAS than all other cars on the road. You WILL go over the limit, you WILL run off the road, you WILL CRASH THIS THING. You have been warned not to buy it!

Cars like this, in my mind, are more than just vehicles, they gatter the spirit, of the machine, not only the pation of the creator, but the energy of all the history behind it. The failure of the bodyworker, the resignation and the hanging of the bodywork, that time the builder saw the shell, that week he couldnt sleed and had to return and purchase the shell, the handbuilding, the finaly get to a racetrack, the crash, and the second reborn, this car have that legend aura, that somecars or some particular models have. Realy liked this one too, thanks Jay :D

Absolutely amazing, well done Peter. I grew up around these old Ferrari’s and they have always been my passion. My dad took templates from an original 250 GTO back in the 80’s that I still have today. One day I would love to build a tribute car just like this. It was always dads dream and sadly he never was able to do it before he passed away. Thanks for the inspiration sir.

Man, I absolutely love that car. I see the money that people spend on custom show cars all the time. Personally, I'd rather commission a shop to build a body like this, then go from there. The Ferrari's from this era are some of the most beautiful cars in the world.

Saw a Jay Leno interview on 60 Minutes or one of those news magazine shows. After the interview at the desk 'wrap-up' the interviewer said he kinda worried about Jay's life after the Tonight Show thinking that Jay couldn't be happy with 'just his cars'.. LOL MY understand is that the 'Show business' deal was just tolerated so the cars could be afforded. great channel. Thanks for sharing Jay!

@@Marauder252 Correct: it's well known around L.A. that Leno never spent a dime of his NBC money. He saved it all. His lifestyle was paid for by his standup money.

I've heard him in interviews that he never even looked at a check and couldn't remember what he was paid. He is a standup 1st and thats how he makes his living. He's one of a dying breed. Also working clean not having to talk about sex or his bathroom habits or using the f word every other line

After watching Jay's weekly videos for years, this is still the #1 video that sticks in my mind. It's not some random resto-mod, not some corporate shill talking about their new vehicle, nor is it a celeb bringing their umpteenth vehicle to show off. It is a regular, insanely passionate guy who built a replica of an impossibly expensive car using the closest accurate parts. The best part is, (IMO), it's not some show pony or some museum piece. It's meant to be loved, raced and experienced by all and many. Top tier stuff.

Jay, I absolutely love your show. You feature the greatest cars and most interesting guests, and it's such an entertaining and instructive program. Some of my favorite episodes are those with guests like Mr. Giacobbi, who have such passion as to hand-build faithful replicas of timeless classic cars like this Ferrari tribute. His attention to detail and his love of the automobile really reach my emotions, and in your interactions with him, like with your other guests, your own passion for the craft comes through so beautifully. I've always enjoyed your work as a comic and talk show host, but I really think that Jay Leno's Garage represents the best work of your career. Thank you and your crew for such a wonderful production.

How could anyone give this a thumbs down??? As a Porsche person I love this car. It's a wonderful passion project, especially since it was horribly wrecked & Mr. Giacobbi didn't give up. Car people are so easy to tell when you see a real one. Jay, obviously, and the owner is obviously as well to have built it had it in an accident and fixed the old girl. True love. Most telling though was he literally never stopped smiling the whole ride and even got jazzed about Jay’s shifting skills while being a passenger for the first time in his baby. Made me very happy to see him enjoy his work being enjoyed. Awesome!!!!

Absolutely Mel, you got that so right! I saw Peter Giacobbi show his creation on Petrolious a while back and then he arrives on Jay's show. I have so much admiration for Mr. Giacobbi's skills but maybe more for his determination. Can you imagine the feeling after it was smashed in that accident... then he just dug into it once more and repaired it! That is truly unique. What a true artisan... amazing.
