He is nothing but passion and it was a joy to watch him share his stories. A bit surprised to see so much disapproval in the comments. The only difference between Donnie and other guests is he seems more confident is all. Maybe that got mistaken for arrogance but I didn't see it that way at all. Just two legends bouncing stories off each other. Oh and white is such a perfect colour for Ferrari's.

Did 128,000 miles in mine without a single breakdown. Thrashed it every inch of the way too. 308 QV's are the most reliable mid-engined Italian sports car made in my opinion. Got 2 other friends with 100k + miles 308's too, one is a 78 carb car, again both cars are trouble free. The ones that sit around in garages are the ones with problems. 308's were meant to be used and driven hard, the harder the better. Cheaper parts than most modern everyday cars, easy on fuel and cheap to insure as a classic. I also did 112,000 miles totally trouble free in a 550 Maranello, again rev limited it virtually every time I drove it. Another well built car.

These videos are just so awesome. I just watched the 35l Pantera just like I had when I was a kid. Now this ,84 308 . I had a yellow one back in the late 80,s. Jay is right about 100,000 being just a shitload of miles for a Ferrari. After 15,000 you have to have them completely rebuilt with new timing components or run the chance of them blowing up going down the road. I had that done twice before I sold it and got the Red 88 Testerosa. Man I loved that car for sure. Even thou I'm 6.3 and size 15 shoe. Wich is just hard as Hell not to hit all three pedals at once. Now I drive a Ford F150. Oh well. Still have the memories. My old back can't handle them sport cars any more. I do like the Imperial convertible that Jay has.

That was really sooo nice of Jay to give him that double plug. I’m sure that gave him a really nice uptick in traffic with his business. Gotta love Jay; always such a class act.

I honestly have to take my hat off to Jay for being so calm and collected here... I'm sure this isn't Jay's first exposure to someone this important. Someone who thinks every single detail they reveal is somehow more unique or intriguing than some ancient artifact. A guy who knows just enough about cars to be able to Bamboozle the less knowledgeable and does so regularly. I know I would not be able to get through a litany of mundane or semi significant details like this, without getting short (or worse sarcastic) with the person. Hey, at least I am working on identifying my flaws and trying to be more understanding. Mr Leno is a Smooth Operator.

Always wanted Magnums 308 GTS so this is wonderful. Back in the 90s I looked into these and found them for about $35k. Wanted one so bad.

That ding in the driver's door at 24:15 made me cry! And yes, there is nothing quite as nice as a naked steering wheel without an airbag. Even better when it's a proper Momo.

I love it when classic cars end up in the hands of mechanics. It's so unfortunate that mechanics in general can't be wealthy enough to own a bunch of them. These guys really love their cars. And you can tell Jay is enjoying this. They're both relaxed and talk about their passion while enjoying the car.

I can really relate to the comment about 4th gear. That sweet spot from 45 to 100+, no need to shift or brake. I do it in an older 911, but weight and power very similar. Love the analog cars that you can responsibly use all the power.

This was HIS car that he wanted when young and broke. It will never be a big dollar Ferrari simply because it's white and has crash bumpers. But it is HIS. And he wants it exactly as it came from the factory in appearance. I'm that way about my Porsches (and have been for 46 years). I applaud him for his diligence towards originality. Yeah, he make like embellish things a bit. Give the guy some slack.

Love this episode of Jay Leno's garage. I fell in love with this car when i was young, watching it each week on Magnum pi. It is nice seeing one in white, don't see many in this color. I remember the car chase scene in Against all odds movie, and James Woods drove a black one. That looked awesome as well in black. These are 130 to 140k now at dealerships. Someday i would like to own a 328gts. Some dreams from our youth never die.

The fellow said he would like to drive a 512 Boxer and a Testarossa, I just looked it up, the later year Boxers had the same flat 12 as the Testarossa, pretty cool. That is why the back part of the Testarossa is so wide and has the cheese graters. The flat 12 is a wide engine, wider than a Subie flat 4 &6 cylinder and Porsche's flat 6's. The 512 designers knew how to make the car look less extreme.
