Hi Mike, New Subscriber here, Thank You for sharing this Gem with us and good on You for saving this Gem!!! I had a 59 Galaxie Retractible myself back in the mid 80's, I rebuilt the 332 c.i. V8 (as it had a cracked Block) and had the Top reworked. Oh, the Memories that brings back!!!! Good Luck in ALL you do and Thank You again for the Share!!! God's Speed and stay safe!!!!! (Thank You for sharing the fact that the "Galaxie" Line did not start until mid 59 as that is an interesting fact for me.) Because I also have a 1963 Galaxie 2 Door Post that is my "1st born child" that I have had now for 45 Years. I am actually the 3rd Owner of this Car and it is the Car that I learned to drive in as a child as it belonged to my Grand Father (2nd Owner) and my Grand Mother gave it to me when he passed as she did not drive when I was 14 in 1976. I nicknamed her Bessie after my Grand Mother and have had her totally restored. She has a 289 c.i. with a Fordomatic. The Picture attached to my Google ID is of her.

Wow hard to believe it was destined for the crusher my god a relatively straight totally rust free hardly any pitted chrome 59 galaxie Tudor hard top and fitted with the old trusty mileage maker 6 and 2 speed fordomatic. I’m so glad you saved this beauty good for you sir!now yes it is missing a few things as we see but like you said they are reproducing most things for a 59 ford which is great as I own 4 myself actually one is a Ford and the other 3 are meteors but if you can’t find the parts new swap meets evil bay Craig’s list and kijiji can all be great sources for parts as well. As I said I have 4 of them and the galaxie which is a Fordor sedan is a us built car and it too was destined for the crusher and thank god the guy I bought it from saved it from that horrible fate. The 2 meteors are fordor sedans as well and the crown jewel of the collection is a Tudor hard top like yours i bought it all tore apart but thank god the guy had all the parts and pieces and put the small stuff In jars and boxes and labelled everything and the only things I didn’t get was the engine and tranny but that’s ok as I found a 390 gt engine I’m rebuilding and going to mate it to a t 5 out of a 5 litre mustang so she should be a riot to drive l once I get her all back together! Great find on that fine 59 bud she’ll be a wonderful cruiser once you put it all back together too! Take care

Glad you saved this car. It looks like the person who ordered it checked the box for full tinted glass. Back then ypu could order no tinted glass, tinted windshield or full tint for all windows.

That's a pretty decent car . It's a shame cars like that are getting crushed .If you don't keep it I'm sure there's plenty of people that would appreciate it .

A 59 Galaxie with a 6? That was pretty rare. Base series Customs often did, but not many Galaxies did.

Ford never called it Galaxie Fairlane 500, just "Galaxie". The Galaxie hardtops and sedans had a new and "Thunderbird-like" roof line. The Fairlane 500 did not.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-((////////&/&/&/(
