As time passes, the methods of historical preservation must be updated. The events in these photos were captured on 35 mm film, a great format for image capture, but poor by today’s standards for broadcast. It is my wish to share these rare historical images with the world. By creating interesting photo compilations of every possible angle, it is my intent to release these new images that show historical moments from another perspective.
This collection of photos are very rare, it is a miracle that we are able to see them. Please enjoy the few minutes that you spare to look at historical events in what amounts to an unbelievable technical event.

It was a really fun city back then, filled with people for whom a job was just something that paid for you to live the life . Not the career-driven, tech centered, super-expensive and joyless place it turned into. And....I used to actually take the cable car to work!! It was simply part of the MUNI system and not just for tourists taking selfies.

wonderful comments about life Sir Kevin. I am old and remember being young and not worrying too much about the future. In retrospect, I hate what I did for my life and career the last 20 years. The only upside is I did travel some, did experience wonderful Thailand many times, and I made it to the millionaire mark so I can retire comfortably even before I start taking my Social Security which is icing on the cake. Travel safely all

Yes I agree. I based the title on the date that was stamped on the slides. But the photos where definitely taken before the 1970s. Apparently they took their time getting the slides processed. I did not realize it at the time.

It looks like '68, a year after "Summer of Love." SF State student strike was about to start, and Alcatraz had only been closed for 5 years at the time.

The slides were dated, from the film processor. They were all processed in the early 70s. But they could have been taken earlier and not developed. They are definitely at least from the later part of the 60s. I saw a Ford Mustang in one of the photos.

Save these pictures and other pitctures of great cities, so we can have a record of what humanity was like before it came to an end. Which judging by how SF, NYC, LA, Chicago, and Philly is now, I think it has ended. I guess the aliens will look as these pictures...

@@caiusKeys I 100% agree, the Democrats are responsible for this. Look at republican cities, they aren’t experiencing these problems of lawlessness and chaos, but dem cities are: of course it’s their fault. And those who vote for their corrupt Communist politicians as well, they’re equally to blame.
