NY RIggo It would be fun to photograph our two cars beside each other if that opportunity every arose. I live in Kansas but go to quite a few Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand Nationals if you ever attend those.
Sorry, should have responded a long time ago. Beautiful Coupe deVille, I had seen your video before. I met a serious auto aficionado here at a show at Oak Hill country club. He was sharing with me much on the Cadillac & LaSalle network. If I ever pursue a show in the near future, I will reach out for sure. A great opportunity for sure. All the best!
THANK YOU - No added music, no unnecessary self-serving selfies and no ridiculous bragging... just a beautiful car with interesting information, a steady hand on the camera, and a clear-speaking narrator. THUMBS UP
Gorgeous automobile. These Caddys have always been my favorite. Reminds me of when I was little, these still travelled the streets daily. Great memories ❤️
We had a 59. Trick to keeping the vinyl nice is to keep it free of body oils, which cause cracking and discoloration as they oxidize. I cleaned and moisturized our 59’s white vinyl weekly with a foam cleaner, even when it looked clean. Waxed the paint and chrome by hand with Rain Dance. Always garaged. Looked and even smelled new in ‘72 when my folks sold it with around 55K mi. I recall riding my Schwinn 10 speed over to the dealer to see this model year when they came out, in Sept or Oct, 1960. Outside was a two door of your color. I like the upper and lower fins. Makes the car look like it’s moving when parked. This green, a blue and a rose were popular pastel colors. (I just happened to be clicking through my feed saw a 59 painted Woodrose, the correct name for that rose color.)
An exceptionally beautiful Cadillac from a very different time. When your weather is nice I’m sure it’s hard to resist taking her out for a drive. Thanks for showing her.
Thanks! Back in storage and awaiting May anxiously to get her back on the road. Hope you are well. Since the video, I replaced the carrier bearing, valve cover gaskets oil pan gasket and replaced the exhaust while it was off for the pan gasket. The radiator was re-cored as it sprung a leak first day I drove it in May 2020. Lastly, rebuilt the starter as it was slipping more and more. All good! You passed on a well taken care of classic.
the 61 along with the 1960 Caddy's had killer sharp fins .... they toned down in size for 62 -63---64 years ... These tail fins were Signatures on Cadillac.... Queen of the road .... I owned a 61 Convert. 62 series... I know this car.... I never cared for the 6 window style.... all tastes are different ...this car is super nice ...
Actually I starting looking for a convertible but when I saw the hardtop, I couldn’t “unsee it”. Really drew me in. Like you said, tastes vary. I’ve had a blast in the car show cruise night circuit with it for sure.
My 61 Conv. was glacier blue , white top....light blue leather seats ... she had power windows and power seat .... no a/c .... car was 10 yrs old in 1971 .. my first car....car was very orig. and nice....I was just 18 then ... everyone thought me being so young why would I want a Cadillac.....I always like them .... Ive owned 61----64----67----84----91-----2006-----and now drive a 2017 XTS ...I know my Cats......
The six windows comes from the two main and one side rear window on each side, counting for “six”. The vent windows are not counted. A “four window” does not have the small rear windows at the back just the two mains on each side.
They were with the car when I purchased it. I have looked for an identical “vintage set” with no luck yet. Wanted to ideally have a show set and a use set. I’m still looking.
Thank you.... All mechanicals now complete and it’s solid all around so intending to enjoy it for some years is the plan. Really had a great first year with it and hoping for car shows in the future when things open up. However everything ultimately has a price.....
Hi my name is Sonny I still am very interested in your Cadillac I would love to speak to you and possibly make you an offer if you would consider selling it
I took my driving test in m mother s car, I had the the blue paint, I had to polsh this car for years, evey saturday, the grill was a bitch. That 390 was a great engne, and, this car would get up and move when you stopp;ed o the pedal. .
For almost 4,800 pounds it does get going! Stopping quickly on power drummed brakes all around is the fun part especially when people pull out in front of the "old car" coming down the road.... not to smart as they will be my "crumple zone'.

I counted 10 in all, but I guess the rear window, windshield and 2 vent windows weren’t considered part of the count. I like the small C pillars and extra 2 windows , very unique and they give the car a very airy and open look. The colour is very pretty, which matches my overall impression of the car.
