Benny Surprises Dave with the ’64 classic - The Corvette Sting Ray 327.
The undeniably attractive sports car was mass produced for a consumerist American market during the optimistic space race era.
Surely the ‘blunt instrument’, as Dave would call it, would not be the vehicle to undo The Motorists?
-
It's all about the drive...
And, if the journey can be done again, but faster - then all the better.

My favorite generation Corvette!!! I have a restored 1967 L79 Coupe in my garage. It’s my pride and joy.

My 1964 fastpack was a blast. It ATE pretty much everything on the road for breakfast. The 327 (RD block w/ 202 double hump heads) developed over four hundred horses, getting rubber and all four gears. I also got twenty miles per gallon. But at last, trying to find high test aviation gasoline to run in the car was a challenge. Gone with the glory days

Good vid I own several mid years never had a small block over heat you can get the correct radiator hoses at all the parts distributors just keep up on all the maintenance and you won’t have any problems out on the road

Hooligan car.. I love it. Note: Chevrolet actually made the Small Block v-8 ,in the mid 1950s I owned a 1958 C-1 Corvette for decades with the original 283 small block 283 ci 245 hp engine.

I would put factory hubcaps on and the antenna should sit straight up.

A bit late in catching the video but nice work gentlemen. Always fun to get a take on this sort of car from a different cultural perspective.

Fun video. FWIW, the first Chevrolet V8 engine was in 1917 for a couple of years. It was not a commercial success and dropped. The next was the famous Small Block Chevy in the 1955 model as a 265 cid. 1957 it was enlarged to 283. In 1962, the 327 was introduced. In 1968, the 350 was introduced, but in Camaro, not Corvette. In 1968, they also became a large journal crankshaft. This was pretty much the engine until the LT1 5.7 liter came out in 1992 and there were a Vortec version of the small block for everything else. The LS1 came out in 1997 and pretty much replaced all small blocks within a couple of years. In there, the 348 W block (which some include as a big block) came out in 1958 in full size cars and the 409 a couple of years later. The 409 was the basis of the Mark IV big block, but not much is interchangeable. They showed up in production as a 396 in 1965 and a 427 in 1966. The 454 was introduced in 1970. Pre 1967 Corvettes are the most fun, as there is a pad between the seats which is perfect for seating a young blonde between the two of you. 1967 and up have a fiberglass handbrake housing that will crack if you sit her on it, plus she make not like you much riding on it.

Not sure I understood what he was saying, but the first corvette small block v8 was in 1955. Before that, they had the blue flame v6. Nice car, I own one.

Couldn't one of you boys perhaps think a little and send for a radiator hose from a parts house and have it delivered to you? Or one take a cab to said parts store and bring one back with a couple gallons on coolant?
