I found a 1964 Ford Fairlane at a deal! Let’s see how bad it is!!! #carrescue #barnfinds #oldcars #ford #thunderbolt #fairlane Made with IMovie Music Credits: Epidemic sound
Well a second maple. Tuñeup kit a couple of hours work combined with anovrn8ght suak in carb cleaner or iacquer thinnerand a blow out of all passages from your air nozzle works every time.
From experience; rebuilding the carb is a waste until you clean the old lines. Better yet, replace the hard lines with fuel hose all the way back to the tank.
The 260 badge gives it away that it was not a V8 car to start with. I'm not a big ford guy I'm a Mopar guy myself but there are some fords that are cool and the Fairlanes are cool cars my favorite year is the 57 Fairlane. My mothers first car was a 66 Fairlane with a 289 anyway thats a cool find
Oh really? I never knew that but I will have to look it up now that I know. Hey thanks for watching and please help me out and subscribe if you haven’t already.
The unmarked patrol cer was a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500. It was present in most of the episodes. The 64 was present in only a few episodes. And like your car it was a plain Fairlane 2 door sedan and not a 500.
I love the car! When I was a kid my dad’s dad had a Torino, dark green 2 door and he was awfully proud of it. I also had an uncle who was the chief of police in a small town in the willamette valley. He drove a ford galaxy that had 1 light on top. Basically what I wanted to say is I had the perfect childhood, basically I grew up in Mayberry.😊
The body on that car is real solid for being the age that it is I live in Canada and that is considered rust free around here. I have seen a lot worse then anything on that car.
New subscriber here and I like the channel. I'm a Ford man myself, I own a 71 Lincoln Mark III and a 70 Ford Torino. Keep that content coming, I'll be watching. 👍🏿
That's how they did it back in the day before repro floor pans were made they would go out to the junk yard and cut the good steel off a scrap car and weld it into the good car. I would rather do that then have to make a panel or pan at lest it's genuine ford steel and not a piece of tin fashioned to look like it.
Ok well I have a C4 and a C6 and a three speed. I hope that 4 speed I’m getting is good and has a good shifter. Not sure what to do right now, gonna think about it a bit. Thanks for watching.
Brother man,, there is a truck to seting floats,,, turn the body of the carb upside down,, the floats should be level with the body of the carb,,, if hanging low it will over fill the bowl, if riding high it will under fill💪💪
My real brother Flash calls me brother man all the time lol. Thank you for that info on setting a float. I put my finger on it when the bowl is upright and look at it and raise it accordingly. I’ve always did it that way instead of that plastic gauge. But I’m glad to see I’m ok by doing it that way. Hey man thanks a lot for your info. See you on my next video and keep watching and commenting please.
@@DEADCARRESCUE brother any carb, even frickinn dirt bike cards they all work off of the same idea, level is level,, anyone with a good eye can see atleast close to level 🤔👍 now upside down puts it into a basic platforms, floats float, so if they are floating, how far with they go before the seat closes🤔🤔 no need for measuring any thing,,, and an old truck for points on a car to an old law. Mower,, not as common these days but a book of marches,, the thin cardboard is right around ,.35, so and old truck to set points is use a pack of match's 🤔🤔👍💪
@@DEADCARRESCUE my brother from another mother EARNY, rest his soul, couldn't read or right, but he was a decent mechanic,, a d made the best clear IV ever had the pleasures of🤔💪🙏 but it don't take anything but being able to survive that matters on this Rock,, each to thier own , life is long ,, and fun if you allow it to be🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
@@DEADCARRESCUE on the funny side,, no pack of match's common but, the cardboard on let's say a case of yuengling cans, yeah that cardboard is right around .35, so good for get it close on points spark plugs and other things🤔🤔 some times it's not about what bout how
I had the "63", 170?? Finally shelled going down the hiway, pulled into a derelict truck shop, where there was a "64" Comet with a 200, 7 main..put it in in RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW...yes...outside.
Had a 64 Fairlane 500 with the 289two barrel, in better shape rust wise then that one. Ended up putting a 67 289 four barrel in it, was a world of difference in performance. How much do you want for that one?
I was surprised the car ran as good as it did. I ordered 2 gallons of carb cleaner so I can soak the entire carb on the next one I do. That’s better than 2 cans of carb cleaner spray. Thanks for watching and your comment
lol yeah but I’m gonna lie. If you stay tuned to my channel you will see me fixing it up for myself. I have a 4 speed and am going to keep it and sell me 67 fairlane. I paid $2000 and didn’t listen to it run.
