www.v8speedsho... - This yellow Dodge might look like a regular Dart at first glance, but as owner Ulf Andersson explains, the Dart Charger is a very rare car that was marketed by Dodge dealers in Southern California as a high-performance Dart. Ulf brought this car to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals all the way from Sweden, and we were happy to have the opportunity to learn about it at the show.

Ulf ,nice car ! I have owned 2 different 66 gt both 273-2 bbl , 1 had dealer ac and factory tinted glass , mint green paint, #2 red paint gt and also a 64 gt -6 cyl 4spd w factory Hurst shift in it's day it'd eat the new 318s alive, Im old now and have only memories left and you sure stirred them up !! The first time i saw and heard about this car was on an old episode of Gomer Pyle. Sgt. Carter drove one for a few episodes. It looked beautiful. It caught my eye because i used to have a 65 Dart in the 70's. But it was the 273 two barrel. Great car.

Nice viewing and Story: particularly some of present Owner, production and extra Stuff.... MOPAR PERFORMANCE STUFF was my first love ( e.g. HEMI Police Pursuit Cars in Ligonier INDIANA POST.). Extra interesting.

I have always dug these under appreciated early Darts. They seem to be overlooked as a lightweight body that will accept the smaller Doge engines. I'd love to build one with a hot 340 and 4 speed. These and Mavericks both are sportier looking than the swarmed off Nova or Falcon. As well as later Darts.

Mine was the 65 Dodge Dart Charger GT. The same car but it had the half-black vinyl top. The dealer put a double stripe on the hood and trunk. A one-inch and about a 4 inch. I was unaware of the low manufacturing count, I always thought it was around 500. They really needed a bit more high gear and a Posie diff!!! It ran out of poop before the end of the quarter and would burn off the right tire.
